Parking Ticket It....2 Hours Free Zone With Ticket
FERRETBOY replied to FERRETBOY's topic in General Talk
Going to pay it first then send a complaint. The ticket isn't one of these that needs your reg. They have covered themselves by including that the ticket should be displayed properly though. I had this idea that would say I had to go back to the car and wind had blown the ticket of the dash without me seeing and dropped out of sight. Its not going to work is it.? Next time im going to bump into one of those pricks, I might just trip and smack the cnut. -
Parking Ticket It....2 Hours Free Zone With Ticket
FERRETBOY replied to FERRETBOY's topic in General Talk
No an actual parking place. I just saw the P sign and the two free hours -
Something they have done for years. Its just something they do, leave them to it and when they is none left then that tradition will die with it.

Just received a parking ticket . Basically I didn't print a ticket which is free and display it. I didn't know or see the WITH TICKET sign. Anyway I did go get a ticket of somebody from around the same time. The times work out. Will I be able to use this to my advantage and say it must have fell and wasn't seen? any help appreciated

Lamping Rabbits With Lass Again
FERRETBOY replied to nottzhunter08's topic in Lurchers & Running Dogs
It was a great night. I cant remember it being windy just a lot of rain, some of the fields were water logged which tested my new boots that thankfully kept my feet dry. It was so nice to not be wearing my heavy muck boots. We missed a good night recently when we last went ferreting instead. Everyone I spoke to that did go out that night did very well considering it was heavy rain and they saw a lot more rabbits out. So with the continuous rain on this occasion I thought that maybe we could also do well. I was saying to nottzhunter we need to beat lasses local record or just go for a big b -
It was a cracking day even with the heavy rain and high winds battering us constantly. Started at 7 and finished by half 11,. It was great to see young clyde catch his first at 25 weeks of age. It was the first time he had been out and seen rabbits, witton had a couple his side hit the longnet which excited the pup first of all and im sure he mouthed them in the nets. This probably helped him gain that confidence in making that strike, no hesitation. Lass is getting better each and every time I see her working. Shes always had a good nose and i love the way she works cover and finds game.

If you know where we could find some rabbits or you have permission. I wouldn't mind bringing our ferrets down with some nets and having a day out with you and showing you how much fun it is.

Thanks for the offer dogmad. I doubt it would fit in my fiesta though. cheers

Happened to us this year. Ferreted a place last year and managed 14 in two hours. Heres the video if would like to watch it again http://youtu.be/74c_jKdkpMc But this year on the same place in the same amount of time we caught 6 and missed one. Checked the sex of the rabbits and all were female. That's next years rabbits gone as well. Luckily a couple fields away we found more warrens and ferreted another four. Video will be on this DVD im making. Well done anyway neil, better than none. You sure nobody has beat you to them?

Clifton butchers Tomo. Its just the minced scraps. I just need a freezer so I can get more. I paid a tenner for about 10- 15 bags full of lamb or mutten scraps and chicken the other week. I had to sell to my mates for there dogs to get it used. Just been for a walk near Loughborough, only seen a hare. Rubbish

cheers guys. It was good to be out with just the pup. Shes so alert and steady when its just the two of us. Just might need to focus on her retrieve plus other commands. Not been doing so much because im taking both dogs out. Anyway just swopped my 4 rabbits for a months worth of dog meat in scraps. fantastic

I decided last night to try some night time ferreting. I have a cracking spot that has some nice open warrens which make it easy netting and you don't have to worry about losing your ferret but still , I chose to use an albino ferret rather than the polcat. All the warrens I circled with the longnet, 50yrds 6z quickset system. I enters the ferret and with seconds a rabbit bolts, it hits the net but bounces over and makes a run for it. Gem gives chase but as expected the rabbit gets away. As im trying to sort out the net and get Gem to back at the same time, another rabbit bolts and gets proper

Well done chaps. Nice bag wish I had come and filmed, especially the mid air catch.

cheers chaps. If I have to travel then I would but be for this dvd local would be ideal. It would cost me a fortune in petrol if I went all over the place but then money from a dvd to could cover a new camera and more travel expenses. It would be great to have one filmed within 6 weeks starting from next week. Thanks for the invites so far. I do need more please. Can also say that I wont be going back to your spots without invite. I respect that its hard to get our ground even if your poaching and I take pleasure in finding my own. Thanks Tomo, sending you a pm now .

well done chap. How old is he pup?

Reminds me of one time ferreting with my dad and digging a 2ft hole with a stick. I was only 11 or 12 and I had the pleasure of pulling the rabbit out. Hands goes in but all I could feel was fur and bones, it was obviously a rotting rabbit, then out flew a rat near my shoulder. We widened the hole so I could get in further and finally got a grip of a rabbit, by its tail that's all. I tug away to only pull of its tail. Eventually we got the rabbit and made our way home. I was a little grossed out by everything but so proud of my ferret and myself.

Lamping With Lass A Year On. New Film
FERRETBOY replied to FERRETBOY's topic in Lurchers & Running Dogs
Thanks tiny. She doing her fare share. She did well again last night accounting for 4 rabbits and 2 big rabbits. They must be loads of better dogs out there but I know Brandon will get the best out of Lass and she will keep the freezer full which is hard if your hunting around our way. -

FERRETBOY replied to FERRETBOY's topic in Lurchers & Running Dogs
His older dog Kye now retired due to injury had beddy on his dads side and never opened up and got ran on the same ground and started around the same age. Aint it strange why some would and some wont yap. Who believes it to be a genetic thing? or just something dogs do. -
Lamping Rabbits With Lass. New Video
FERRETBOY replied to FERRETBOY's topic in Lurchers & Running Dogs
Thanks a lot MM. Dog did well again last night. It was a warm night and the ground was hard going. We walked a lot too and the bitch put 4 rabbits in the bag with two of its bigger cousins. -
I was reminiscing last night before I fell asleep, over some of the times out I have had in the field with the lurcher. Its already been 10 years since I started heading out with my cousins and mates with our pack and im only 23 but started young like so many I suppose. Well some of the memorys that are well and truly installed in memory space are as follows. Catching my first daytime hare just before the ban, we caught this hare with my dads young hancock bred beardie collie greyhound and would you believe it my cousins Alsatian. My current Lurcher Fly catching her first rabbit daytim
