Everybody sets their own standards....no matter who the person or what the dog at the end of the day the only person a dog needs to please is its owner and if the owners pleased with his dog its a good dog.....nobody is happy with a dog that cant or wont do the job we expect it to do.....but if we set our standards very high their is going to be more " shit " dogs than good dogs...if our standards are very low there will be more "good " and "great " dogs talked about......so naturally we can only judge a dog by our own standards which may be very different to somebody elses.....1 man may have

Personally i dont think he needs a real test,but part of the problem with hyping someone like they have done with khan...is you are then under pressure to fight big names....i dont think khan is ready for the top level fighters yet but i think he will now get pushed into them before he is ready....boxers are not machines,they all grow,learn,mature and improve at different rates...i believe khan needs more hard gym time myself but he is too busy running round putting his face everywhere which is another drawback to being touted as a star before you are one !

barry mcguigan is paid to give his views on boxing and boxers,he,s not paid to hype people....if he was he would hype every fighter not just khan.... i make you dead right about the hype that the public swallows.....and this has been my argument since the start of khans career.....the first 2 years of khans career has been absolutely no different to any other talented fighter...no different to nigel benn ...no different to tyson or any other young prospect.....if the public want to fall for all the hype and bullshit and expect young prospects to be getting beaten up while they are learning th

So with all this trashing of khan none of yous would think him good enough to win a version of a world title i take it ?.....well i,ll take bets with all and anyone who wants to...that he will within 2 years..... I dont like the kid but i recognise talent reagrdless of what colour or religion they are and i said from around his 4th or 5th pro fight that he had the talent to go all the way...wee barry mcguigan said the same and the last fighter he stuck his neck out and said the same about at such an early stage of their career was nigel benn !...which for me says something about his judgement

I know theres a few boxing fans on here,i dont often look at youtube but thought id have a flick through some of my favorite moments in the sport......this for me was the greatest single round in boxing history..... We all often over use the words " hard men " but for me they dont come much harder than this when it comes to raw courage and competetive spirit......these 2 never fought for the title,and were great friends with tons of respect for each other,both quiet humble men who simply had incredible will to win.....2 genuine " hard men " showing incredible warrior like spirit......

i have been /am a fan of football season ticket at my club for 20 years or so ......just telling it like it is and my face has never been six inches from your face .................... yis fellman ho ho ho... he he he...that was so funny i nearly pulled my own pint !....likewise im only telling it like it is and rugby fans are constantly slagging football...it dont work the other way,cant think of any other reason than jealousy myself,maybe im wrong.

I wonder if thats anything to do with the influx of foreign players by any chance....i remember watching the 86 world cup for example...and laughing at the way other countries players rolled around the floor every time they was touched....now they are all over here ! stands to reason really.

I think the word your looking for mate is ..." jealousy "....the reason footballers earn so much money and rugby players dont is not many people give a bollock about rugby ! if your average rugby player earns the price of a round of drinks per week and your average premier league footballer is on 50k,theres a reason why ! Why is it rugby fans are always slagging off footballers but football fans dont slag off rugby players...my guess is jealousy. Di canio certainly didnt have legend type status down at west ham.....in fact he took a lot of stick when he first arrived...upton park crowds have always been hard on a foreigner who doesnt give 100 %....just ask that prick boa morte .........at the start di canio wanted the ball at his feet or he would just stand with his hands in the air.....but credit where its due he had fantastic ability and put in some great displays and was well liked....certainly not legendary status though.

Absolutely right i noticed that...thats the problem with chelsea these days,they have no real loyalty to their club,just their team...it could be ANY team of 11 bob smiths costing 25 million each !...lets face it if the russian had bought doncaster united,macclesfield town....or even newcastle utd ...that team would be where chelsea are today.....if chelsea were relegated next year there attendance would half,fact!......when west ham went down a few years ago our average attendance dropped by less than 1000...... Some things tell their own truths...1 being,you dont see many old chelsea fans

West ham might be a shit team mate...but when it comes to history and respect...we are WAY above a flash in the pan team like chelsea....and this is my point.....west ham have history,tradition and pride.....i remember a time when west ham refused to buy a player whos roots were outside london,let alone england.....count how many other premier league teams play at least 7/8 english players week in week out,many of whom have been spotted by their own scouts and brought through the youth system as kids......believe me,if west ham fielded a team of foreign players every week there would be uproar

Nothing to do with jealousy mate ive been supporting a little team in comparison for 40 years....but im a football fan so naturally dont think a lot of a club who try to buy success.......as somebody else said,chelsea have no history,have brought through no top players...but have instead bought a great football team....if you follow your club around the grounds you will know the chelsea terrace chant as well as i do...." shit club no history "........ Used to ? thats a crime in my book....its like saying " i used to be english "......you are what your born into.....id love to support a successful team but changing teams halfway through life...thats just against the rules Fair play to man u this year they have been head and shoulders above the rest and showed great consistency,i can see them finishing 10/12 points in front.

oneredtrim....your posts are a little harsh in my opinion...but very true...personally i dont care too much for what fighters do outside the ring whether it be tyson/ali or whoever...im a boxing fan not a showbiz/star fan...but that said,you are speaking the truth....ali commited his life to his faith and took what went with it....just like tyson did for all of 6 months until he decided being a muslim wasnt actually for him and went back to being what that clip showed he was......

like i said before mate,i prefer to concentrate on what a fighter does in the ring...and in the ring ali,s courage was and never could have been questioned...or frazier,louis or many other " great heavyweights "....tyson did the most pathetic thing ever to get out of fighting a man he knew he couldnt beat...THAT is a cur,brilliant athlete or not.
