Been reading this thread with interest and have agreed with most of whats been written so didnt feel much need to comment until a few points stood out...michael bispings chin is way supsect ??? believe me ive seen bisping hit hard and he can take a good shot,just because he hasnt been banged about in the ufc doesnt mean he hasnt been severely tested before this...a clean hard shot is a clean hard shot,just because it wasnt by a ufc fighter doesnt make it any less of a hard shot ! I think by bringing little things like world wars into the conversation is kind of getting away from the subject....of course you cant go by the book when it comes to extreme circumstances like a world war and no of course nobody would feel the need to want to send back to their country of origin situations like the lad aboves gr father found himself in.... that still doesnt make him british but of course in extreme circumstances provisions have to be made. im only asking because i have very little experience with lurchers,but would a lurcher run a catmill ? the type mayfield used to have ? every "keep" ive ever seen was geared up for bulldogs, these wouldnt apply to lurchers or terriers (other breeds) surely

cant see no harm in keeping 2 pups myself as long as you have the time to dedicate to them and you treat them as individuals,ie,let them develop at their own rate and not judge one by the other. as for a gap between dogs thats completely up to you i suppose and depends what else you have going on in life,cant really see any specific reason

bit harsh that !...you dont win titles by being a poor boxer......the lad fought a good fight and got his tactics spot on,he wasnt expected to win and he won easily thats why everyone looked dumbstruck.....hopefully he will take the game a little more serious now and make a few defensies.

For me that is what makes this forum better than others...even though i have an interest and i like to learn about stuff im interested in im by no means a "real" hunter like some are...but there is a lot of honesty spoken on this forum on many different subjects .... Now some people dont like honesty and they hide from it.....but thankfully this board allows people to be honest whether it offends or not.....and to be fair if it offends someone then you have to ask yourself why.

Personally i think for people to call the lad a wrong un without being 100 % sure he is shows some people really have no values of the words they are using.....where i come from you dont call someone a wrong un unless you are sure they are simply because of the seriousness of what your saying.....but on these forums these words seem to get thrown around like a plaything,which i guess is an easy thing when you cannot see the person who says it !....i wouldnt like to be the judge of this fella good or bad but it would take a lot more than a few dodgy/naive posts to make me use the words some hav

thanks for the advice lads....there doesnt seem much call around london for falconry courses funny enough,but would anyone know the nearest club or in fact anywhere within sensible distance im likely to learn a thing or 2....nearest ive found so far is down portsmouth way. also...is there a book or website that is generally accepted as being "better" than others ?....and when im talking about learning,i mean learning the real absolute basics of the birds and the sport...thanks

At the risk of having the urine taken out of me i was wondering what any of you who have experience in this subject think of the idea of falconry courses for an absolute beginner.....are they really necessary ?....i dont know anyone with a bird so cant get any hands on experience......is learning and reading as much as possible over the next few months and then buying equipment and a beginners type of bird and chancing my arm with it a sensible option ?...any opinions would be appreciated.

so lets have this right....they are going to sift through every pet dog owned by council tennants to remove breeds that are not even on any official government dangerous dogs lists ???...what about crosses of such dogs ?? a staff x alsatian for example...or in fact a cross containing any of these breeds...there will be no f*****g dogs left in dublin ! think there must be more to it than that,im sure they wouldnt put themself in such an impossible position open to any half sensible brief being able to rip them to shreds in court....councils dont make laws governments do....destroying a heal
