Trouble is mate....a chair leg is not quite as " cool " as a samurai sword is it....your rep is not enhanced with a chair leg.....a few years ago it was the baseball bat,you had to buy a ball with it !....now its the samurai swords turn to be the " IN " weapon of choice...that and the uzi but i think they might be banned also

Hello Bill...as usual you speak a lot of sense and i agree with much of what you say......however as regards tszyu/castillo....well they do say the last place to find out what shape a fighters in is in the press !....personally i dont go on any boxing websites or subscribe to the magazines,for that reason....the media will never blatantly discredit an opponent before a fight.....i imagine you may have traded blows yourself at some level at some stage so you will know word gets around gyms real quick,and that word is more often than not a lot more honest than you will read in a magazine ! . thats the problem right there gnasher,he's been hyped from before his first pro fight,i just find it a bit distasteful and disrespectful to every other honest young pro who earned there exposure and money the hard way. I couldnt agree more mate...but he was an olympian so he was always going to get mass exposure from the off.....audley harrison was the same,only difference being khan can fight !! Harrison could have turned pro a year before he did but refused knowing it was an olympic year.....

The kids 21 years old mate he,s not an experienced seasoned pro.......if boxings bent because a young talented fighter needs bringing along slowly and carefully then its bent for everyone....who was ricky hatton fighting in his 15th pro fight ? who was muhammad ali fighting in his 15th pro fight ? or anyone else.....people are so intent on seeing the kid in a war.....he should not have been exposed to the public this early in his career but thats the ONLY mistake...as for the lad and his career...both are coming along perfect.

The only way its not accurate is that earl was never world class...but at 29 he is washed up and khan took full advantage..... You think the 36 year old tszyu that hatton fought was the prime tszyu that beat mitchell or zab judah ? i think not...you think the 34 year old castillo that hatton beat was the same castillo that fought cassamayor or corrales ?....they were nowhere near there prime,hence tszyu straight away retired...every fighter can only go to the well so many times,and when they are involved in real ring wars,that amount lessens....ask graham earl.....if joe calzaghe had ever bee

Just a quick example on a point you made above about fighters being washed up etc.....the recent khan/earl fight was a great example.....on paper earl was a great opponent,rated very highly,28/29 years old......but it is no secret that he is a shot fighter,which was proved....yes of course people say after the event he is shot,but a lot of people said it before the fight as well......exactly the same as the hatton/tszyu/castillo fights.....cheers.

As we know there are things that make a great fighter...and one of them is ring generalship.craftiness,cleverness call it what you will.....hatton knows just as many tricks just look at the way in all his fights he hits and holds and anticipates the break and punches on the break,not strictly legal but hey its all part of the game.mayweather knew what he had to do on the inside and knew what he could get away with...lets be honest hatton is not the cleanest fighter in the world,but his overall ring generalship is not up to mayweathers. Oneredtrim.... you didnt think frank warren,little jim watt or that moron steve bunce would come out beforehand and say they was washed up did you ?...nobody in the public eye will ever say that before a fight and rightly so.....but many people within and outside the game knew these 2 were shot fighters...i guess gym talk is not 100 % reliable but its certainly more honest ! Evening oneredtrim.....i think many recognised before AND certainly after that tzsyu was all but finished....and lets face it,he has since retired so it kind of tells itself.....castillo had been in a lot of wars and without doubt his best days were behind him,whether he will fight again....he,s a crazy south american so probably !!......i believe he was caught with an honest punch and anybody who has drawn hands at any level will no that type of sickening body punch can finish a fight. So if someone predicts that hatton will be stopped in the late rounds....and he does....and then the person says " the fight went how i thought it would "...thats wrong is it ? Well personally i dont like him because of his ethnic background plain and simple.....if someone wants to call that racist then so be it,i call it pride in your country and your heritage. Although i agree he seems a nice enough kid with a sensible head on his shoulders and is definately a great talent.....I guess some of us are just too set in our ways.

If thats a dig at me mate....look back a few pages you will see i predicted a mayweather stoppage between rounds 6 - 9......ok i was a round out but it wasnt a hard fight to predict.....some people predict with the heart not the head and thats easily done but believe me im as gutted as you.....no need to start being a dick to me though......if it wasnt intended at me my apologies.

Jasper you didnt only hit the nail on the head,you smashed it through the floor !! the trouble is....it applies to ricky hatton more than anyone and you SHOULD be including hatton......his was a typical example....the 2 world class fighters he has ever fought were washed up and the only other time he went up to welter he struggled......to be fair i like hatton he,s a genuine guy,but he has serious limitations as a fighter......the mayweather fight last night went pretty much exactly as i thought....it was clear after 4 rounds hatton could not get to floyd,but what plan could he change to ? he

If you think graham earl is a stepping stone for anyone your wrong...but his best days are behind him and apparently he,s not in great shape at the moment....that said i think khan would beat him anyway....i dont like the kid but he,s got talent speed and strength...

Tomo hatton looked well dont get me wrong.....but he certainly wasnt cut to the bone,he looked hydrated and healthy.....like a man who hasnt had to cut weight...which he hasnt....mayweather was bang on the limit....by fight time he will be up around 155 while hatton will be the same weight he was last night..... I think hatton let himself down a little at the weigh in,.....cool calm and collected is better

: mayweather will be about 149/150 when they fight he'll be hydrating himself day He will be a lot more than that mate....come fight time mayweather will be up around 155 at least....i expect hatton to be at a full 10 pound disadvantage.....hatton look nowhere near as fine at the weigh in as normal simply because he didnt have to cut weight....the weight hatton was at last night is probably the weight he will enter the ring at.

! YES YOU MISSED THEM . YOU WERE WATCHING A DIFFRENT FIGHT FROM THE REST OF THE WORLD I think leonard missed them as well....his face at the end of the fight you would never have thought he had been in a fight !!! and for a man who had barely fought in 4 years who last time out had been put on his ass by a nobody like kevin howard !! Hagler was possibly the best middleweight ever but styles make fights and hagler would never have beaten leonard if they had fought 100 times....hagler has even admitted this since !
