Likewise stig ....you speak from the heart and thats to be respected... In my view hatton is still the best p4p in the uk at this time.....ive never disputed he,s a very good fighter i just dont go along with the legendary status some give him.....with hatton out of the picture id say david haye is the number 1 in the uk although i feel its a shame he had to move up to an unnatural weight as he could have been cruiserweight champion for as long as he wanted....but like most succesful cruisers sooner or later you have to fight at heavyweight to make the real money....but i rate haye very hi

I havent back tracked at all....i thought hatton SHOULD have won yes....size,power,aggression,workrate were all on his side......personally i have just never rated him as high as some....it wouldnt of surprised me if he had won because he is a world class fighter....but NOT a great....but naturally when a world class fighter fights a great fighter much smaller than himself anything can happen.....what i was probably saying in a cocky but humurous way is.....i always told you he wasnt a great because he should have beaten the smaller man....anyway f**k all that ..... Bull you are absolutely ri

[quote name='trader' date='May 3 2009, 04:54 PM' post='1037160' i have always rated him as a good brit fighter ,as you can see from what i put in my first post i thought he was out of his league,un like YOU who thought he would win but there you go, atleast you are bowing to my superior knowledge you are right there is some good fight fans on here unfortnatly no-one agrees with your opinions on anything boxing related on here, the british/world boxing press etc etc anyway fights over were move on and look forward to many more fights Whats unfortunate, nothing for me....

[quote name='maltenby' date='May 3 2009, 02:55 PM' post='1037003' Right oh, then. He slapped Lacy, Kessler, Hopkins & Jones Jr to defeat. Still top class boxers, and the first two were in their prime. THink most people take issue with the fact calzaghe fought the first 2 ( lacy/kessler ) in their prime...but they were not proven over time world class fighters......the 2 proven over time world class fighters he fought ( hopkins/jones jr ) he waited till they was at the end of their career before fighting them. I think joe punched plenty hard enough to beat these 2 in their prim

Yes without doubt kostya tszu was washed up.....he never fought again afterwards nor did castillo....kind of tells its own story........as for " at the end of the day hatton is an extremely likeable bloke "....so what...is that like a consolation prize to not being a legend in the ring ?..... Everyone sees things different ways mate, personally ive always felt hatton was a very overated fighter who sold himself to a gullible general public....but i might be wrong i usually am

Wont ever understand boxing good one.....i could drop a few hints and a few names but im not of that and will remain a non understander in your eyes .........theres a few knowledgable boxing lads on here who i share the odd opinion with sometimes we agree sometimes we dont......but they know my views on hatton and would have understood my post when saying how could hatton lose this fight........however the likes of mr.trader who has clearly been there and done it for many years and mixed in good company i will bow to their superior knowledge. LIke i said before,as regards ricky hatton a

Whether we like it or not america is the boxing capital of the world....you could hardly expect a prime bernard hopkins to travel to little wales to fight a world title fight.....like hatton, calzaghe was a very cleverly managed fighter....fortunately for calzaghe he did have genuine talent on a worldwide scale and in my opinion only let himself down that he didnt fight and beat the top fighters in their prime and hence cannot be called a great......hatton on the other hand won his 2 best fights against washed up world champions who never fought again, and when taking on real world class fighter

[quote name='trader' date='May 3 2009, 07:28 AM' post='1036600 and what outcomes that gnasher? The outcome ive been telling people for years...hatton IS NOT and never was a boxing superstar.....he was a self promoted star built up on finished world champions who when matched in top class was way out of his league........IF he was the star he thought he was,the bigger man ( the legend ) would have won.............think you missed the point of my post mate....most english folk love hatton because of this likeable lad nonsense,i judge a fighter on his achievements and ability, hence

More like a stone by the time they step in the ring....and a 14 lb advantage at light welterweight is a serious advantage !....paquiao will hardly cut weight at all whereas hatton will more than likely rehydrate between 10 and 14 lb after the weigh in.....couple that with the fact that hatton is a natural light welter and paquiao is a natural super feather maybe lightweight..............and it all points to one outcome.

Ease up mate im only saying what SHOULD happen....whether it does is a different matter,i dont rate hatton as high as some do but still...he should win this fight
-
And im the unbeaten tiddlywink champion of britain....ive only ever played the blind but im a " legend " nonetheless.....wake up mate people are starting to rumble him now......a good world class boxer yes....a legend ( as he puts it ) dont make me laugh.....the words he uses cheapen their meaning and are an insult to genuine " legends "

Heres an interesting fact someone told me yesterday as regards the NATURAL size and strength hatton is going to have over pacquaio in this fight.... Both fellas are a similar age....as a 16 year old pacquaio was fighting at light flyweight 106 lb.....as a 16 year old hatton was fighting at light welterweight 140 lb. in 1997 Pacquaio was regularly fighting at flyweight 112 lb........saturday he will be fighting at light welterweight 140 lb. in 1997 Hatton was regularly fighting at light welterweight 140 lb...saturday he will be fighting at light welterweight 140 lb. Pacquaio has only

Theres this new invention out mate....its called the television, becoming more common by the day Lads dont get carried away disecting this fight stylistically and tactically..........hatton is by far the bigger stronger man....in fact he will have so much of a natural size and strength advantage that tactics and styles shouldnt really matter........if hatton cannot win this fight he really needs to stick to being a stand up comedian !......its a promoters dream fight....but most real fight fans are just yawning.......bit like that wwf nonsense.

Please please carry on wildboy....you are the greatest....f**k it youve convinced me son .......orrible c**ts aint they

Its a fair point i suppose but giving it a few minutes thought my opinion would be that birds of prey is a far more specialist field than selling working pups.....almost anyone could buy a working pup without really giving it much thought.....but im not sure many people would buy a bird of prey without giving it at least a little serious thought......myself i seriously contemplated a bird a few years ago but quickly realised i had neither the time or knowledge to really dedicate myself to one......now had that been a pup i may have chanced it as a pup is a little less scarey than a bird of pre

Comparing a dog fight to the rape of a child ?......that pretty much sums your " opinions " up....and certainly puts an end to this conversation.
-
You dont want it too much higher than that.......having the dog swinging around in the air might look impressive but its not getting anywhere near as much of a workout as it is when feet are on the ground.....20 mins - half hour a day is plenty........better to have an intense 20 minutes than a lazy hour.....and the more you do it the less desire the dog will have to work it with full intensity......main thing is keep them feet on the deck ......might be as well with some sort of matting underneath her for grip....

Id rather have my wallet stolen than myself my family and friends bombed while sitting quietly on a bus or train...........easy to make assumptions innit ! oooooops nearly forgot we,re not allowed to make assumptions about muslims are we.....only gypsies.
-
It always amazes me how certain minority races are left out to dry when it comes to abuse....yet others are protected and wrapped up in cotton wall so as not to offend............. Myself theres a few things id like to say about certain muslims for instance........but todays dogooding society wont allow it,we dare not risk offending people that come here to kill us....................but a poor little traveller who may or may not leave a mess in a field, and its open season ! Give me a gypsy family over a muslim, polish or mongolian family any day......at least i could have a conversation,a pi

Stone me ...straight out the news of the world......mate if your going to slate something then do it with knowledge and research not the first thing you happened to read on the subject.....that sounds the opinion of somebody with absolutely no idea other than what they spent 5 minutes reading about once ! Im the first to admit my views on hunting used to be far different to what they are today and without 5 years of learning id probably still be in the dark like you are.....anybody can say the first thing that comes into their head and call that an opinion....BUT ITS NOT....to have an opini

Just watched the froch fight......its a great day when you can say your proud to be english.....and watching a kid like that who clearly is quite limited at that level win over a far more talented athlete on sheer heart, desire and conditioning makes me feel very proud....i hope he gets in and makes a few bob and retires healthily to live a peaceful life.......good on him.
-
Hello Stig.......i appreciate and understand your thoughts on a subject i make no claim to know too much about in all honesty ( hunting )....it interests me to the point where i,ll occasionally tag along with a few likeminded folk and i like to learn about anything that interests me,hence why i read a lot off this site and i certainly make no great claims as a hunter.........however,i think you have either misread....or not fully understood my post....probably my fault as my incessant drivel can often cause folk to fall asleep while reading so not your fault really..... Now.........if you r

[quote name='twinkletoes' date='Apr 26 2009, 07:24 AM' post='1025081' yes but if any of you remeber calzaghe s fight with eubank went the distance he did not humiliate chris and if chris hadnt of cabbaged watson and loose the edge he would of murdered joe. calzaghe was a good champion but he wasn t a patch on either eubank, benn or collins in there day he was just lucky that there wasnt really a top flight challenger in that leauge any decent fighter joe fought ws at the end of his carrer burnt out. Think thats a bit harsh on calzaghe.....i agree he certainly could have done more in f
