    THE derby!!!!

Spurs possibly, arsenal i couldnt care less.....now if it were Millwall ...well they never was anything so it dont matter Im a purist mate i like to see the traditionally best clubs fighting it out for the top honours, same in any sport....im not a fan of the underdog.....if i had my way Leeds,Notts Forest etc would all be up there, but like i said its ultimately what happens on the pitch....dont know what Yugoslavia has to do with sport, but i get what your saying

    THE derby!!!!

We had a miracle escape last year we wont this year !....Personally i hope both the scouse clubs move up the table they are too big and too much tradition to be struggling down the bottom.....but of course its the teams play that will ultimately dictate, even so both have too much quality to be scrapping around with the likes of us

    THE derby!!!!

Im really looking forward to this game should be an open game with maybe a touch of desperation about it.It will also be a good chance to see which one my Hammers are going to be in a relegation battle with

    U.F.C

I never laugh at a man getting knocked spark out as its no fun,but that Hardy fella deserved everything he got !....He is very unprofessional jumping about screaming like a 12 year old,a fighter needs to control his emotions and not get caught up in the moment.Ive noticed it with him before. He has the must have mma starter kit of muggy tats and noncey gumshield and seems to concentrate more on his image and hyping the crowd up than concentrating on what he,s doing you just cant go into fights wild and hysterical like that.Bisping was the same and got caught early as well, fortunately he managed

    on average

At the time i was in my 20,s,an extremely fit guy with an extremely fit bulldog pulling me along,i couldnt have walked any faster without running....measure out an exact mile and try it,... World class race walkers can do it in around 8 minutes, but of course they are virtually running and only technique means they can " walk " at that pace......for the normal everyday joe you can safely double that time.

    on average

I doubt very much you could walk 2 miles in 18 minutes.....before the days of electric treadmills i used to walk dogs miles.I always wanted to be accurate about how far and how long etc hence i timed and measured distance At a good pace we would walk 1 mile in 14 minutes, which is of course a touch over 4 mph....i cant see you walking 2 miles in much less than 25/26 minutes unless you break out into the occasional jog.
  7. It dont matter if there cadburys cream eggs you prick the mans obviously put a lot of time effort and pride into his hobby and some shitbags come along and wiped it all out ! Best of luck to the fella in getting them back, maybe if he has no luck some other fancier could at least get him going again.
  8. Nice,.....shame when the heart says no more, especially for someone who had as much heart as he did....god bless the ol boy. Thanks for letting me know mate.
  9. [quote name='jasper65' timestamp='1287002763' post='1751852' Have to say I realy loved the boxing up until the late 90's - 2000's, after that the sparkle from the the new fighters didn't seem the same! the Leonards, Hagglers, Hearns, and many many more at different weights back then was a different class and well worth watching! not sure how you feel Gnash but the real buzz from the big fights these days seem to have gone .... I think its just a generation thing, the period your talking about boxing was watched for free on itv,i just think its easy to lose interest in something
  10. Nothing to do with favorites mate i dont have favorites,i liked Leonard he was a fantastic fighter, but we all get too old to do what we are best at and getting caught by a very average fighter like Lalonde was something Leonard would never have done earlier in his career.Watch the fight weight wasnt an issue he had no excuses getting caught like that with a fighter who wouldnt have laced his boots a few years earlier. Yes i rated Lewis,he was a good world champion who wouldnt rate him .....theres no such thing as over cautious unless it stops you performing, and it never did.....mediocre ..
  11. Couldnt agree more Jasp....if i remember right there was a 118-112 score from one of the judges which i thought was about right, pretty convincing win really.
  12. I know he was found in the street but any idea what he died from stainlee ? nothing suspicious i was told.
  13. Bullshit !....Lalonde was one of the worst champions in the history of the division,Leonard showed his age in this fight getting kocked down and tagged more than once, weight wasnt a factor either. The best fight Leonard was in was the first Hearns fight.
  14. Was going to have a look at this one as i was offered a couple of tickets and i like the 02 although the last one i saw there was dead atmosphere wise.Cant be doing with all the wannabe yanks with the soppy screaming and hand gestures so a visit up to the midlands to watch the Hammers came first, priorities and all that Be interesting to see how Bisping does i wonder if he has gone as far as he,s going to go in the sport. Hope you have a good night and the fights are of good quality.
  15. [quote name='PINNACLE' timestamp='1286836432' post='1749548' You c0ck If you could have been bothered to look at the whitehall site you would have seen they have plenty of dogs that will be pts and mostly Staffies. This dog however, was dumped on the doorstep dead or nearly dead so the owner is to blame for its death by starving (neglect) and it is them that need sorting. THAT IS THE POINT YOU STUPID ???? Also the reward is from donations from the public not the "heroic charity" or Crimewatch. "These heroic dog rescuers make me laugh you " & "stop this bleeding heart
  16. Blimey your going back some years now....Olivares fought Bobby Chacon a couple of times in good fights, but the real great fights in them lower weights came about 10 years later when Chacon,Mancini,Boza Edwards,Limon,Bramble were all mixing it. Alan Rudkin was out of Runcorn was he not ? Bit before my time he was....i heard he was found dead in the street a few weeks back terrible shame.
  17. A grand reward for the capture of someone who neglected a dog .....as sad and wrong as it is i cant help thinking this is all a bit much, crimewatch only offer a few grand more for the capture of people who have raped and diced up children !! These heroic dog rescuers make me laugh,if nobody else wants the dog what makes them heroes just because they do want them ....if a dogs not found or rehomed after a month put it to sleep and stop this bleeding heart nonsense.
  18. Yes,good call that....Bassa was down 3 or 4 times showed balls of steel to come back from that.I always felt a little sorry for Mcauley he always seemed to be in Mcguigans shadow yet was ten times braver than Mcguigan ever was.I remember his shock win to take the title from Duke Mckenzie at Wembley Arena,my old pal Rod Douglas got a first round ko on the undercard to that fight, sadly nobody knew what was ahead when he nearly died next time out against Herol Graham, shame the way it go,s sometimes. Pretty sure the Mcauley/Bassa fight was 87,they had a rematch that didnt live up to the first a f

It was one of the biggest dissapointments of my career in a strange sort of way, thats exactly right he did just come apart.Franks a genuine nice fella,i always felt he had quit in him which i dont mean in a nasty way,he is actually a very intelligent man he always played on the dosey lump character,he was never a fast puncher but he had heavy hands and when he hit you you certainly stayed hit !....he didnt even need to catch you flush a glancing blow was enough to get your attention. But fighting just never really came natural to him he always reverted back to standing off or holding when he wa

I think thats probably the Errol Christie fight your thinking of....Mark used to get a lot of the football crowd following him as did a lot of the West Ham boys Mo Hussein was the same.Gary Delaney once got out the ring to stop his brother getting nicked in the crowd because of the football carry on ....funny days.

Dont forget the Finnegans in there as well,Kevin could have been world champion if he had been more dedicated to the sport, one of the physically toughest men i ever saw. The Kaylor/Christie fight i remember like yesterday, one of the best atmospheres ive ever seen at a fight,a lot of the West Ham footie crowd had turned up and due to the lead up to the fight it was bound to go wonky outside the ring if not inside ...great fight nonetheless. Minter was from surrey or brighton somewhere i forget now i know he lives down near Gatwick anyway.

    Boxing

Minter was from down near Gatwick somewhere.... took many a dig in the ribs off Mark without being allowed to hit him back ....he lives the quiet life out in California these days being a fitness coach to kids,he could certainly fight.....saw him a while back at Terry Lawless funeral he looks in better nick now than when he was fighting !

He was a real nice fella Ritchie Wenton he gave the belt to Bradleys mum and kept in touch for many years, always sent a note to her on every anniversary of his death, very good and decent person.
  24. Not sure i could pick out one fight above any other,it depends how deep you want to dig i suppose, seen some great bouts in small halls.........but on the world stage i guess for me it would have to be Ali/Frazier 3 from the past and Ward/Gatti 1 from more recent times.....though Hagler/Hearns was some brawl for such a massive event.

Absolutely, theres no other team for me with a boxing background my sporting hero shouldnt really be Bobby Moore but thats the way the cookie crumbles i guess.
