I like them mate i know im a big southern fairy and we dont get the kind of arctic temperatures you tough northerners get but ive been surprised how warm they are even up around your canister once you get your chin tucked in, i think they're great for this time of year just not sure about when it gets into the minus temps.
-
You wouldnt be suggesting im a southern nancy by any chance are you ?
-
Yes you did heap praise on that side i remember, so whats the difference between old Dave Basset or Joe Kinnear doing it and David Moyse doing it ?.....are you that down on West Ham/London that you'll only praise something if its someone else doing it......or are you secretly realising that the whole move thing you wanted has backfired on you but dont want to admit f****n up ( in which case dont worry about it theres plenty of yous in the same boat ) Its nothing to do with going home and away i dont book myself any more of a fan than the next man chaps like you or me have been arguing o

I dont think we're far away from full on " rush goalie ".......seen a few keepers lately adding to the numbers in defence when pressuring opponents....almost like it allows an extra attacking player with very little risk defensively, and keepers/players in general are so fit and quick these days they can be back into a sensible shape in seconds.

Anyone using these Baerskin jackets ?....bought a few of them recently and seem decent quality, nice comfortable jackets......not sure how they'll hold up in the real harsh cold weather though ?
-
Im inclined to agree, when i first started coming on this forum one of the first important things i learned was the difference in mentality between dogs that hunt and dogs that compete....trying to make something that by its very nature is not " fair " into something competitive is not only hard work but almost impossible.....for me if the chaps dogs do what he wants a dog to do thats good enough, though i do think using the same terminology that people who compete with dogs do is wrong and somewhat naive.

Yeah same Micky was just a naturally big raw beast of a man looked like he'd been raised on gravel or something !.....i got asked to do a reading at his funeral and told a more in depth story of our first meeting and how despite losing some skin and teeth that day i gained a lifelong friend who i became very fond of....wasnt a dry eye in the gaff !....i'll shut up about him now before i start blubbing again

The going out of sight thing is surely only going to work with a dog you have a bond with......doubt you have that with a 15 mth old....never used one myself but heard a lot of people praise the electric collars for such situations.
-
Im inclined to agree ( not the sad man bit as i like ol Wilf he's a good lad ).....but i do think theres a small group of our fans that just will not admit they got it wrong regards moving grounds......they would rather hope we fail than admit they was wrong and we was right......thankfully its becoming a smaller and smaller group as time go's by.
-
Yet ive seen you throw praise over your Roy Keane/Vinny Jones types with a win at all costs mentality......i remember you lavishing praise on the Wimbledon Crazy Gang side of the 80's and 90's..........hardly pretty to watch was it....but it worked ! For me this style Moyse is playing is high risk football.....in so much as if it doesnt work fans will want your head on a stick.....but its working, while being nowhere near as terrible to watch as that Wimbledon side you worshipped.....maybe its just the club/country in general you no longer like is it ?

Well im running out of words it just gets better and better ......only the second time in over 20 years i believe since we've done the Yids at their gaff ! One loss in our last 8 games Our best ever Premiership start 3 points off 5th in the league Quarter Finals of the League Cup Top of our EUROPEAN league group And i bet you'll still get a few that wanted the move whingeing that we're not playing the " West Ham Way " anymore Once again, this is what YOU wanted..........Come on the massive club !!

I remember getting into a ding dong with a big Irish Mcalpines lad working on the 02 Arena or the Millenium Dome as it was known back then must have been mid 90's it started over something stupid as it does....i thought i was invincible at the time but this fella certainly put me in my place....went back a few days later and offered him a job, over the years he turned out to be one of the strongest yet most peaceful and fiercely loyal men ive ever come across Micky Morrison his name RIP.

I dont know what its like in Ireland but i think theres a bit of a misconception about lower league and non league football as regards the " get stuck in " attitude.....referees are bound by the same rules from top to bottom and are clamping right down even at non league level......the Bremner/Norman Hunter types will not be missed in my opinion but you're right there has to be a certain amount of physicality or you just dont have the same sport.....seems like todays physical battles are more about fitness levels than strength/aggression.
-
Just a little local club thats it,as you say its not about making money the biggest thing was securing the future of the club/ground what with so many clubs going to the wall and then getting eaten up by developers....we've managed to get 10 years of what's called ACV which is Asset of Community Value so now its just a matter of how far we can go on the competitive side....i think one of your old clubs is propping up our league Grays ? or have i made that up....its just a nice little interest to be involved in and a slight improvement on the football im watching down the Hammers at the minute

I remember the gent we discussed earlier flogging a few videos about them in the 90's it was obvious they was going to become the next " in thing " on the back of the Apbt laws....some of them had really impressive yards and a good sales pitch to be fair.....must admit like you say,i could never really understand what use the dogs could be over here but each to their own.

Apart from the naivety of even using such a term as " they will never quit "......what else can it possibly mean when using the term in the context of an opponent/quarry that can do damage ? No point calling names mate you are the one using terms you dont seem to understand and talking about breeding puppies you couldnt of expected not to get a bit of flack.
-
I dont think its different at all mate i think its exactly the same.....as folk like us have said over the years until it comes and bites you on the arse there isnt a problem thats just human beings...i just find this whole " wonderful Ireland " or " wonderful Hawkshead " " wonderful anywhere in Europe " at the moment totally naive when the demographics are there for anyone to see.....with that demographic change comes a change in behaviour and attitudes we've seen it time and time again and so demonizing Irish people and calling them racists/far right while they are simply concerned citizens
-
You might not have said they are " game " but you have used the term " they will never quit " Its a funny little argument i remember having with a few yanks many years ago re the type of work these dogs do....to me it requires no gameness whatsoever yet they insisted on using the same terms that relate to game dogs.

I can watch a game at any level or any venue and get pleasure from it but naturally you like to see " the best " do it occasionally and unfortunately that comes at a cost both moral and financial....re Billericay ive dipped my toes in the water again recently mate ....much lower level, less expectancy etc hope for a better outcome than before.....raising our attendance from 2 figures to 3 is the first goal ....i'll have a look for that Youtube thing sounds a good gig.
-
It was a shocker he's got to get downgraded or whatever the ref chiefs do....its almost the sort of thing you'd have to fancy his mrs had a nice few quid on a draw and he panicked when he saw a clean pair of heels on Grealish....it was so bad it was good Re " sin bins " and such nonsense i do wonder if they are trying to Americanise the game in terms of drama and maybe even getting fans to spend as long inside football grounds ( spending money ) as possible....whats all these 8 and 9 minute injury times all about. Ive said for a while now the only thing id possibly like to see trie

He was doing a telly interview though mate what do you want him to say He's entitled to take credit for breeding decent dogs in the same way anyone else is......should he take credit for Skipper making the Rom list of course he should......can he take credit for the wins no none whatsoever......its the difference between being a breeder and being a competitor.
-
Thats the way mate nothing like breeding from proven stock ......a few months to prove himself and the rest of his life to fail ! No offence as they're not my type of dogs but was always a gripe of mine with gamedogs people buying a nice young pup to rear, test, show and hopefully breed.........only to learn that the " tested " dogs he came from went on to quit !
-
In fairness he did " peddle " some quality animals though....and he certainly wasnt the only one. In terms of dogs he'll be the sort of chap who will be more highly regarded while he's dead than he was when alive.
-
Cant believe that decision in the Spurs/City game yesterday.....you like to think referees make honest mistakes but that looked like out and out corruption to me......to wave play on and then blow up when Grealish was clean through what was the geezer thinking about surely that will get looked into ?
