  1. The wife used to work for Morgan Stanley i think it was the early 2000's that the city started allowing property ownership by non nationals so they opened offices there she was back and forwards for a year or so. She rang me yesterday said she was in a bus shelter....i said dont be getting buses you idiot get a cab......no im just cooling down she says.....ice cold air conditioned bus stops....whatever next !
  2. My ol womans in Dubai at the moment i cant go there and she used to go there years ago before it was the " in " place ,so she just wanted to see how its changed....sent me these yesterday i said it looks to me like the regeneration of Canning Town ,apart from the temperature of course ....ive absolutely no desire to go there whatsoever personally.
  3. I thought the O's were poor.....in a one off match like that you've got to go for it a bit more they didnt deserve to get anything out of the game....shame,maybe next year.
  4. No idea what thats all about but good to see folk keeping up local traditions in this day and age.
  5. Seems obvious it wasnt terror related....but just say it was,and people had been killed......how the f**k did someone manage to get a vehicle past plod and into that situation in the first place......even on a normal match day with 50 odd thousand fans you wouldnt have a chance of doing something like that .....this was supposedly around a million fans !! Seems like the media are so eager to tell us all that it was a " 53 year old white British man " that they're not even bothered how it even allowed to happen. By the way.....everyone is aware it was a 53 year old white British man a
  6. Id strongly disagree with that....in an era when Youtube boxers and general idiots are making big money fights i thought that Benn/Eubank bout was a breath of fresh air.....not the highest quality fight but not only was it a cracking fight but it was the perfect example of determination, fitness and gameness......i was worried for Eubank going into the last few rounds that fight had disaster written all over it......both lads are chips off the old block as was the fight itself .....Benn was wreckless and aggressive as was his father.....Eubank was fit and durable as was his father......Eubank w
  7. It is mate yes....or Dagenham & Redbridge........to have hostility to either club would be to pretend they are a threat....and they are not, never have been. Hackney Marshes is the common ground between West Ham and Orient many players have come off those pitches to the O's,the better ones would go to West Ham its just the way its been.
  8. So.....the West Ham/Millwall rivalry, one of the oldest rivalries in English football,a rivalry of over 120 years is suddenly going to be brushed under the carpet and forgotten about if Orient win their play off game tomorrow and then get up into the Premier League next year This conversation has become too silly to bother with.
  9. That makes around 12/13 teams rivals to my mighty Hammers
  10. Leyton Orient are the closest club to West Ham geographically......we played them years ago....nobody.....and i mean nobody from either club ever have or ever will see it is any sort of rivalry/derby. As many other West Ham fans will i would love to see Orient win their play off game tomorrow.....hardly rivalry/derby mentality.
  11. For as long as ive been following football Leeds rivals were always Man Utd,thats doesnt make it a derby game ! If you think that West Ham and Brentford..... Millwall and Arsenal .....Wolves and Walsall etc etc are derby games then you clearly havent been around active football fans through the generations. Palace and Brighton now book themselves as rivals......but its not a derby......you cant just make it up as you go,or maybe you can but thats why people dont buy into these made up " derbies "
  12. " read up on the definition " You're not a regular week to week fan of an English football club are you mate i can just tell Fans have followed and observed the cultures/traditions/habits of their clubs for generations.....the English dictionary has never even come into it !
  13. How can they when they are miles apart......my ol fella used to have murders with his best friend who was a Millwall fan, they lived 200 yards apart, both worked down Smithfield, both drank in the same boozers etc....if close proximity doesnt matter i might as well book Millwall/Spurs/Chelsea/Arsenal/Orient/Charlton/Fulham/Brentford/Palace/QPR.........all as derby games !
  14. So every 2 football matches between London clubs are derbies ? as lifelong West Ham fans we have absolutely no problem with Fulham,Charlton even Arsenal or Chelsea..........but Millwall we despise with every fibre of our being. Watford are geographically close should we book them as a derby game as well ?........do Man Utd look on Stockport County or Oldham as derby games,of course they dont. One club cities do not/cannot have true derby games thats just life.
  15. Mushroom id book you as a good chap ( for the little you can tell from someone over the internet ) you was kind to me in my hour of need and i remember such things......but having a little experience now of old people who just lose it right at the end, either i was around the most beautiful man thats ever lived ( which i like to believe is true )....or people dont just become dirty overnight.......the person i lost last year was mentally gone in the end,yet he never became that cheap, tacky shitbag you just want to walk away from..........i get it that not all old people go the same way but for
  16. But its still not a derby.....my Hammers v Spurs is a not particularly pleasant rivalry..........but its not a derby. Derby games are brilliant, the build up in the pubs and workplaces, neighbourly disputes,families/friendships torn apart......rivalries are just watered down derbies for me.....how can you have a derby game between sets of fans from different areas.
  17. How can Arsenal ( North London ) and Leyton Orient ( East London ) be a derby ?..........BIrmingham/Villa yes.....Wolves/West Brom yes.........you cant go around just making up derby games they are what they are based on history and tradition as well as geography.........Newcastle/Sunderland might be a rivalry but its not a derby game.
  18. I almost feel sorry for these 1 club cities who dont have a "derby "......a rivalry is one thing but a proper derby where theres banter in the local pubs and workplaces is something else....neighbours at loggerheads I was glad to see Sunderland get up they are a big enough club to be in the premier league, rather them than Sheffield Utd,Bristol City etc Come on the O's tomorrow !!
