  1. Im quite happy with Potter i think he's a good fit for the direction we should be going in.....Floppy was a disastrous appointment from day 1 he was brought in to supposedly take us to the next level after Moyse brought 3 years of European football, high placed league finishes and stability to the club.....but all we've had is shit side to side football with no end product averaging barely a goal a game and a lower win rate than Avram Grant ffs.....ok he was undone by players with a low work rate, defensive errors ( mainly the Greek ) and poor finishing....but he's still just a Spanish version o
  2. Although you are right to a point i dont think theres ever a good time to have your first bout at a heavier weight having been out of the ring for 3 years facing the most dominant world champion in years.......but that was the confidence and arrogance of Leonard as a fighter.
  3. All a bit depressing really but ive found this my solemn place of comfort over the last 6 months....i used to be the type who hated being on my own and always wanted people around but now i just cant wait to get to my little bench, sit and just let the hours go by with my 4 legged pal until im falling about pissed and the ol woman has to come and pick us up Proper sad case im turning into !
  4. I used to be really touchy about my age i hated anyone knowing but i couldnt give a flying bollock anymore f**k it.....i share the exact same birth date with my old boxing mucker Mr.Benn who i'll no doubt get the usual text message from in a couple of weeks " happy birthday you old white c**t "....to which i'll reply my usual " happy birthday Nig..........Nog "
  5. Couldnt agree more.....its given lads who might not have the foggiest idea what they're looking at......sound like they really know what they're looking at.
  6. Another 10 years down the line and that will be a stem cell job,its definitely on its way.....glad to hear all went well anyway
  7. I got introduced to that Michael Van Gerwen chap in Holland a couple of years back we chatted for a good hour he's actually a really impressive sportsman i was surprised....his dedication and will to win is on par with anyone ive ever heard discussing their sport i just imagined top darts players to be a bit more casual about the whole mental aspect but he was really on the ball.....good giggle as well he struck me as a cracking chap to be around.....still glad Littler beat him though ! What a talent that kid i was trying to think if theres ever been a younger world champion in an individ
  8. Cant say ive ever listened to a whole podcast but i have the odd person tell me something someones said and it just cracks me up the way some of these criminals who have to resort to muggy books and nowadays podcasts to tell their third and fourth hand stories because they were never able to make real money....old prison lags in their 70's who should know better repeating stories that have had so much added to them or missed out on the stories journey it now no longer resembles the real story at all....an old pal of mine rang me a few months back asking about an old jail story i had told him y
  9. Ive watched that fight many times over the years mate, scored it the same every time i had Leonard winning by a couple, on landed punches.....i loved the way Hagler fought but same thing....some opponents just have your number athletically,i think it was the 9th Hagler caught Leonard with his best shot of the fight but it was right at the end of the punch Leonards timing was just so cute.....and if i remember right Leonard rallied late on to take the round which typified the whole fight.....i remember at the time feeling the fight was an anti climax after such a huge build up but again, watching
  10. I dont think for 1 minute Usyk is a natural heavyweight in the same way that Holyfield,Spinks all the way back to Bob Foster and the like were not natural heavyweights....but its always been the same all great light heavies or cruisers in recent times have to fight at heavyweight to make the money......ive probably told the story before but i was utterly convinced that Michael Spinks would beat Mike Tyson back in the late eighties .......i was a big Spinks fan i followed his career from the 76 Olympics right the way through the light heavies and just thought he had this unbelievable herky jerk
  11. Im not sure we'll ever know for sure if Usyk can take a good shot or not simply because he's never out of position so rarely takes a full blooded shot his timing is so good that he's either too close or too far away where the sting has left the shot even though it might have landed....Ray Leonard was brilliant at that i dont think he had a particularly good chin he just rarely got caught with full blooded shots due to timing its a real art to watch that kind of predicted movement and sheer athletic talent.
  12. Good shout that is mate......be a messy fight alright and not much to separate them but for me Fraziers delivery of punches was far superior to Marciano and im not sure he was any less tough/determined than The Rock.....so Frazier for me.
  13. f****n dry january im already in february
  14. Must admit i havent looked through the whole topic so folk on here might not be the same but im finding it absolutely staggering lately how naive British people are to these two men....Robinson,Farage,Reform....is this really what people are getting behind now, grifters and paid agents....pied pipers put in place to keep people apathetic and believing somebody is fighting the battle on their behalf.....for genuine patriots and nationalists its so disheartening to see how worshipped these gatekeepers seem to be !.....wasnt it that Yank poet mush Pike's quote that said " when they want a hero,we
  15. For me thats what would make it such a great fight......" relentless " is the perfect description......again there wasnt anything particularly shrewd or inventive about Fraziers pressure it was just relentless.....to me a fighter would need variation to trouble Usyk or back him into corners im told Usyk spars something like 12 x 4 minute rounds and starts a round again if his back touches the ropes......Frazier will never have seen movement like that even Ali's movement was conventional boxing movement, brilliant yes, fast yes....but it was conventional.........the fact that Frazier was absolute
  16. There was a time when young prospects were protected and carefully handled....brought along facing all types of opponents who were good enough to push the prospect so that he learned but not dangerous enough to knock them back physically or mentally....again,matchmakers had great value Dean Powell god rest his soul was a brilliant matchmaker who shaped the careers of many young London fighters but they just dont exist today......a big ticket seller like young Johnny Fisher is thrown in on big shows when he should be learning his trade on small hall shows.....the game has changed mate and not f
  17. I disagree, there was nothing elegant about Fraziers pressure it was hard and in your face Frazier could track down runners and suffocate them but Usyks movement isnt traditional boxing movement he doesnt exit exchanges in the conventional ways and he doesnt offensively pressure in conventional ways, the angles he presents would have confused Frazier in the same way they confuse Fury.....always hard comparing generations of course but Frazier/Usyk is a dream fight scenario.
  18. Thats just a silly question mate its like asking which undisputed champ knocked every opponent out in the first round Usyk is a chess player he isnt a concussive puncher but fighting much larger men you wouldnt expect him to be. They are not closely matched at all a man with ridiculous physical advantages has not been able to put a dent in his opponent in 24 rounds of boxing......again,Usyk would beat Fury in exactly the same way if they fought 100 times, that isnt " closely matched "
  19. I was only discussing this the other week......a Holyfield v Usyk bout at Cruiserweight would have been an absolutely unbelievable fight.....regards the other greats as with any comparisons of era you have to keep it sensible Usyk without his constant pace and pressure wouldnt be the same fighter, which in Ali's era he probably wouldnt have had.....but yes i tend to believe that Ali would have found a way........Frazier v Usyk would have been colossal !
  20. Couldnt agree with you more, every word.....Usyk has showed that boxing can and has prevailed. And like him or loathe him Fury seems a genuine and decent sportsman.
  21. I dont think the Usyk/Fury fight was much different from the first one really, like i said before the bout i think they could fight every week and Fury would never beat Usyk i just dont think Fury understands his movement......when its said that fighters like Usyk/Lomachenko/even Golovkin to a degree have great footwork its not really even boxing footwork its just great athletic movement......Usyk does tiny things that offsets an opponent who expects traditional boxing footwork.....Fury just cant work the picture out thats infront of him when he faces Usyk. I had Usyk by 2 maybe 3 rounds,
  22. Hopefully they dont push him too fast like they did poor Johnny Fisher that was a terrible fight to take....hardly any amateur experience,no real boxing technique or iq.....green as arseholes......so they stick him in with an experienced tough old journeyman to make him look awful......i remember a time when matchmakers in boxing were worth their weight in gold !
  23. The heavyweight limit in amateur boxing is 92kg.....Usyk weighs 102kg as a pro heavyweight.
  24. I mean, unless the poor f****r is in a care home with absolutely f**k all to do in life then who in their right mind has either the time or inclination to go onto an internet forum pretending to be somebody else....especially an internet forum that the person they are pretending to be doesnt even know exists !!!....f****n roll on what sort of shit state as your life got to be in to get a kick out of that !
  25. hahaha will do....same to you and yours mate Merry Xmas.
