  1. We all run "are" dogs? I remember a former member on here who always said "are" when he meant "our"!!
  2. Some more then: This one is a view of the same permission as above, only from the opposite side, and taken on my phone All these are of permission of our shooting club Cheers
  3. Took the terrier out yesterday just for a quick walk near a local farm, I saw the farmer combining and he was nearly finished so thought I'd wait and ask him about permission as all of my permission is at least a couple of miles away from home. Anyways he was keen to get a shotgun on it as there are tons of pigeon (and hopefully plenty of bunnies as I've never done much lamping before). So just thought I would share a couple of pics. Cheers
  4. I think that is called "Lilbit", and belongs to Marty who runs Gamedog.com.
  5. Reading the article I was thinking the same about terrier work, might only be allowed for hunt terriermen.
  6. Went to a trout fishery at Wymeswold yesterday, fished all day without catching a single trout, had only one pull, which I missed. About 6pm I was moving to a different spot when I noticed a fish rumaging about in the mud just in the margin, so I cast this gold headed nymph a few feet beyond it and slowly twitched it back. When the nymph disappeared into the cloud of silt the fish had put up the line went tight Couple of minutes later after a decent fight, I netted my first fly caught carp. Was chuffed to bits!! Cheers
  7. I find I shoot very well with my Browning semi, it's heavier than my sbs, ou, and single barrel and I find the extra weight helps with my swing. Also it hardly kicks at all, so they're a good choice if you're going to be doing a lot of shooting with very heavy loads; foxing for example. On the down side the weight is'nt helpful when you're mooching about; and I always find them awkward to carry when I'm walking because they don't break: you can't carry then over your forearm, can't break them and put them on your shoulder, etc. Pump actions I have never used. Also if you like side by sides and
  8. Get the gun you like mate. If you prefer side by side, get one, or whichever you like best because you are'nt going to shoot well with a gun you don't like, and you're not going to enjoy it as much either. Best of luck.
  9. It's a shame more of the genuine questions asked on this site don't get such clear and straight forward answers.
  10. We do it the same way as dogs n natives explained, except the feeders stay near the pond the whole time. cheers
  11. We started feeding on Saturday just gone (4th).
  12. Horrible b******s. They are worse than foxes when they are at your birds, as a fox is more predictable, you can have a sit out and wait for a fox but a cat could be there one day and not be seen again for a week. Just have some 1's or BB's to hand, and good look giving it both barrels. Cheers
  13. I am a member of BASC as a member of a shoot. We were going to have a visit from one of their officials before the start of this coming season, and then they said it would be £750, to have someone with a badge come and have a look around the shoot, "mmm" and "aarrgh", and poss have a picture taken. Personally I'm not sure I'd bother if it was'nt through the club, I would probably join the Keeper's. Cheers
