  5. Cheers gaza, she is 21.5 tts and still pretty puppyish too. How are things going with your pup? Im just trying to get things going slowly, my main aim is to get her to calm down a bit when out ferreting, shes still very excitable but she is improving and is taking more notice in the holes, nets and ferrets every time i go out. But since i started giving her a few retrieves of dead game, shes started to ignore the dummy a bit, im just sorting out a replacement rabbit skin for the dummy as the last was pretty scabby, hopefully that will create a bit more interest. ATB
  6. Cheers birddog, Went out again today with the pups and this years ferrets. Had three from two warrens. Started hammering it down about 10 minutes after we got there and we got absolutley soaked, still a good fun way to spend a few hours though.
  7. yes a lot down to terrain ...and also I like the collie temp.. these pups in theory are 3/8 grey 5/8 collie. so still plenty speed there for the bunnies im sure. I will lamp with her when she's ready but no rush will wait till she's 12 month or so. Ok cool, she definitely looks like she will have the speed, she has some pretty muscular back legs. All the best with her.
  8. She;s 8 months old.Coming on tidy.Had her first Rabbit last week.Messed about with the Retrieve though two laps of the Field .But i was Expecting That what with it being her First Rabbit. Sounds good, I'm sure she'll calm down next time. I'm fully expecting my pups first rabbit to be the same scenario haha
  9. Why did you go for the collie dominant breeding? If you don't mind me asking. most people with collie lurchers on here seem to have a smaller percentage of collie, And you've gone for mostly collie, is this down to the terrain you hunt? ATB
  10. Good stuff, looks like your pup incoming on well. Hopefully I'll have this to look forward to shortly! How's your pup bred by the way? Looks like she has a nice thick coat on her.
  11. Cheers mate, I'm happy with her progress. She's just realised that she's supposed to pick rabbits up and bring them to me , not throw them in the air an play with them lol! How's your pup doing? How old is she now? Cheers.
  12. Joe777 : cheers, the ground should be pretty decent, there is a lot of rabbit activity about its just difficult to locate the warrens with all this cover about, can't wait till the pup is old enough for lamping as this ground should be pretty good for that. Yeh she is starting to mark a bit but I'm not sure how trustworthy she is at the moment, time will tell. Both her dam and her sire were collie/whippet/grey. Mouse trap: yeh iv had a black and a ginger before but this colour is new to me, it will be interesting to see if this ground holds anymore surprises. Sesku: cheers bud
  13. Over all it was a nice day out, i think the pups benefitted and although numbers were low, it was well worth it! ATB
  14. One of the rabbits was a slate greyish/blue colour which ive never seen before?
