Good scopes do make a difference, My mates leupold has such a plesant reticle to sight in with (very fine) and great clarity. Also looking through a swarovski you will be amazing at how cloudy your 'cheaper' scope is. I know I did. At the midland game fair I had a good look through some of those MTC that are raved about and to be fair they wern't really clear at all. Even compared to much cheaper scopes of equivalent mag. Reticle was nice if thats your type of thing though. At air rifle ranges for hunting top end glass might not make much of a difference to you.

Mine is coming on 13 year old now. More of a family pet than hunter but still brings in a rat every now and then from the garden. Like said she isn't great round other dogs.
