As DC said feed every day and they need the extra fat for the cold days. Rather see ferrets with a bit of bulk than snipey thin ones that can’t do a days work
Pp or meth blue to treat the fish in a holding tank/bowl with plenty of oxygen, if you do scrapes you might notice unseen parasites that might be the cause. Don’t rule out a rat though as they will take fish out the sides
E collar used correctly or change the type you keep is the only answer, most terriers will disappear on scent so it’s in them to start with and us to channel it at the right time
