    Im going through the exact same dilemma with both rifles but more from a weight issue. I myself prefer synthetic stocks but found the Hunter handled a touch better due to the slight additional weight. Calibre choice was going to be 7mm08 until I was told there would be a 6-12 month wait. Anyone help me out, rifle will be used for stalking and im now leaning towards .308

    Tikka T3 Varmint .223, bang a Zeiss conquest 4.5x15 on it (500-600 nicker from american fleabay if you shop around) this will do you for both range work and fox. Why not try a Beretta 686E which should cover both clays and rough shooting.

    Thought the T3's were either 1 in 8 or 1 in 12 twist. Ive got 1 in 8 .223 varmint and the best factory ammo was Hornady 55gr V max.

    I bought the Bushnell one and thought it was pants. Its supposed to be good upto 100m, but if light your lucky if you can pick the laser up at 50m.

    Jonher what bases did you get to fit the rings to? I purchased Burris XTB as advised but the rings aren't getting a secure fit for some reason.

    Got an email yesterday saying the credit card had been refused. I put the order in again and they said it had been refused again then asked me to confirm expiry date on card. They had the incorrect date, unsure why but must have been getting logged incorrectly. All sorted now and its been posted. Hopefully get it sometime next week as im shooting Saturday.

    Jonher just wondering if you've received your order. I ordered the same rings on the 10/11/07 contacted supplier yesterday and was told will not ship till Monday as order had to be processed by international orders.

    I've just ordered some Burris Signature Zee Rings with Pos-Align Offset Inserts, these allow you to change the POI without having to make large adjustments on the turrets, just small ones to fine tune! There is also an insert with gives you 20 MOA change at 100 Meters! so it sounds like they could be right up your street.     It is a 20 MOA scope rail and this would only need to be fitted if you were going to be doing some long range shooting and would need the extra elavation.

    Not mounted it yet as waiting for optilock mounts to arrive. But looking through the clarity and brightness both seem excellent, can't wait to try it.

    Ive got one which is solely used on a 25m indoor range. There great fun to shoot but I personally wouldn't dream of shooting it in the field. Ive seen upgrades on the net where the barrels been chopped and mod fitted. Tried 3 types of HV rounds which cycle well but subs were pish and wouldnt feed well at all.

    I've just ordered a Zeiss Conquest 4.5-14x50 Mildot $720 for the .223 from some dude of American fleabay. Just hoping customs don't ping it, which ive no doubt they will as I always get hammered.

    Was the said rifle 280 with mod and scope included? If so rip his hand off coz you wont find cheaper anywhere, especially as CZ have just had a price increase.
