  1. Hi all, as some of you already know, we organised a 23-venue UK Tour in March bringing Professional Hunters and Outfitters over from South Africa and Namibia to tour various gun shops and clubs across the UK to promote ethical trophy hunting. I thought you may be interested to see some of the pictures from our tour? An early start before Newark Halstead and our Spit-Braii attracts a bit of attention on the high street. Steak Supper Evening at the Old Lodge Westley Richards Toy Department with some eager young scouts! Yours truely doing the honours at North Cot
  2. I nearly did but somehow it didn't really seem appropriate at the time - I'm pretty sure he'll be coming out to Africa with me at some point and we'll do a proper job on him then! May even take him out after Hyaena - and you know what that involves! Cheers, Roo
  3. Hi all, sorry for not being around much recently, been tied up organising a 23-venue Professional Hunter's Tour for the UK. I did just want to show you this though: This is my pal Richard, taken of Sunday Morning. This was Richard's first outing stalking and he shot himself a nice Fallow Spiker using his .308 Rifle. Remember that smile anyone? I had to share it. Cheers all and best regards, Roo
  4. :-) If you can stalk rabbit then Kudu will be a walk in the park mate! Have a great day! Oh, are you in the UK by any chamce? www.UKPHT.co.uk - if you'd like to meet up we are touring the UK in March! Cheers Roo
  5. Hi Phil, yup, it's one of Bill's at his den at his farm although I do sneek over to Namibia and Southern Africa generally as often as I can to shoot them myself - here's me with one a while back and here's me at Retoma Taxidermy in Outjo - it's one of the best taxidermist's is Namibia and a specialist in big cats... Good spot mate - have you stalked Kudu yourself?
  6. Hi all, a while back I posted this question asking about game species and it's availability - I also posted the same question on hunting sites around the world and found that there wasn't a single point of reference for what I was after - so..... Please would you guys take a look at www.SafariSearchEngine.com - I had some spare time and an active interest and what I was hoping to create was a single website that contained the details of every huntable species around the world together with information and photo's of it, not to mention the locations where they could be hunted and details of
  7. Hi all, thought I'd post a follow-up piece on my 30-06 Howa Rifle. OK, so the gun itself is delightfully engineered and the barrel is as accurate as any I've fired, but I had mine screw-cut for a moderator and that's where the problem started. The rifle is fantastic at the range, but when being shot in anger, the added weight of the silencer on the barrel caused the retaining screw on the stock to work loose, and stopping to re-assemble your rifle gets old pretty quick! So, I had a word with Mark Westall, owner of Top Gun and Rod and a chap I go stalking with, and he came up with a Rea
  8. Hi all, I shot some and am still here to tell the tale! I did video it and when I edit the clip I'll post it up to youtube.com and send you a link! Cheers
  9. Hi all, sorry for the delay in posting more - been away in South Africa for a bit - as you do! Anyway, I showed this thread to oom Burger Oelofsen while I was out in Namibia and he was a bit concerned that people would think him a pansey- testosterone and all that, and he's a really nice bloke so I said I'd post this up so you get a better feel for the chap! This is Burger Oelofsen (right) together with a huge problem lion that he tracked with the happy hunter shown to the left - quite a chap huh, and the lion's pretty impressive too! Anyway, Burger's fine now and has healed totally
  10. Mackem, that's different class mate - nice one! Roo The Hunting Agency
  11. It's the same ammunition - I just looked at the open packet and it's got the same tear and all sorts - sorry folks, I didn't buy it from him, got it from Ammo-zone, but it's the same! Didn't buy it with a view to selling it on, just thought it was a nice curio to keep hold of, but I'm certainly going to shoot some and will video it for you when I do (end October when I'm back from QZN. Cheers all! Roo
  12. Hi folks, tell you what, you 'put me on it' (Peckham Pussy) and I'll eliminate it with one of these! LOL I've not met Pete Lawman, but have heard his name before, can't place it, but no, these didn't come from him - why, does he have some for sale? As for the bullets - it's a toughie really, but since I've got an open pack of five, you just know that these will be discharged at some point, and when I do I'll take a video camera and show you how they turned out - how's that! Have a great day folks! Roo
  13. Hi all, just picked up a small batch of old .375H&H ammunition from Kynck - thought I'd show you it! You can see how the sides and bases are sealed up - this is lead btw... Each lead package contains 5 packs of 5 x bullets as shown, and each has the bullet weight and type hand-written on the outside in fountain pen- which is a nice touch! Now I've no idea if this stuff is collectable or even shootable, I just had to have it! But with an open pack of five bullets.....will it still be shootable? Cheers
  14. Here puss puss puss! Personally, I can't see it. I've plenty of pals who live in Africa on huge farms - circa 10000 hectares, and they know if they have a problem cat within days, so my view is that if that's the case in their natural habitat, then over here I'd expect them to use a bit more cunning and would expect to see them in the towns and cities like foxes - they all prefer an easy meal to a hard one! We don't get sightings of Pantherus in Peckham, so I'm a disbeliever - sorry! Roo :-)
  15. Naw, I've been there and these are evil things, really unpredictable. Trouble is, Burger thinks of them as pets, like budgies I guess, except they don't seem to know that! Actually, to be fair, it's only one of them that did this, but he said it was so quick and unexpected that it had done for him and knocked hm out before he knew anything about it. I've never shot one, always fancied shooting a Kuri Bustard, but never one of these. Now I do though, and while I'm sure this is only a terrible rumour, apparently some of the local farmers go after these at night with pick-up trucks and shotg
