Real nice looking thing, are you planning on working in or will it be to fast to pick back up in a working situation?
-
Never mind at least you tried. ive seen a few very well trained dogs over the years and not all had a heavy base line as you put it. i recall a diamond a whippet/greyhound biddable as could be and as crafty as a scouser. yea seen some real good pure Whippets and whould deffo have one
-
Base blood would be the working part in a Lurchers make up ie Collie terrier gundog ect as a cross such as a Whippet Greyhound is not a Lurcher but a long dog concentrate stay with me, as to blowing smoke up my own arse about being a better Trainer than you, i didnt no i was, thought what i do is common place with DOG men well untill now lol thought how i got into working dogs may of been of intrest to some, as i grew up on a council estate in east London with no dog men around me and it was actually a dog Alsation Lab that introduced me to the love of watching dogs work! Now this is reallym

Still cant see how training a dog could be wrong, first Lurcher i had took him out as a pup to learn the robes with older men and older dogs i was 15 at the time and the dog turned out to be a non retreiving hard mouthed lazy hunting also ran hound, had him for 14 years tho, second dog took to the books NEVER worked him with other dogs and never looked back Really thought the way i do things was a lot more common how wrong i was, not one replie about Base line blood the whole point in this thread, just shocked abuse at the thought of exspecting more from a canine than reacting to a moving tar

because of the dogs age gonna be real tough, but deffo dont take him to Rabbit holding ground for a bit, use food treats bits of chicken or cheese work well, that should get him coming in set up situations like your front room lol call him in from the garden give a treat quick praise then leave it there, most inportant dont try and call him at all if you are not gonna be able to get him back, walk him loads on the lead praise him when his walking well still even give him a treat or two it wil reinforce the bond, at home work on his stay start with his dinner time when you will have his full at

should have just said had a dog started catching at 8 months old and i would have been in lol
-
so any one like to add a comment on base line blood in Lurcher breeding, was really thinking i may have learnt a little this pm but sadley not the case other than most people seem to think training working Dogs is a waste of time at best or that people that do, well that would be me and Mastiff Man are just plain liars but REALLY
-
i came on here to ask about peoples thoughts on base line lurchers ie pointers ect QPR won still love music and i am a long way from wankerd but yea i am a joker, can train a f***ing good dog tho, no any one with a Pointer x by any chance? first game of the season next week, season ticket holder Mmm think i shall get Wankerd
-
you got that right, yes you dont understand the merits of training a dog, so i will not go down path of mental muturity diffs in a trained and self enterd dog and f***ing right i am a crank long standing party animal live it up A1 go for gold nut case but like it or not i understand canines inside out been running dogs for 35 years and yes one of us is talking bollox cause they just dont no any better, so how do you enter a pup brains?
-
yea i can do that bro, will start a new thread in the am right from the off puppy to the field no problem canines are so basic in there thinking, may help you out with your next puppie no shit, you will get it cause you are smarter than a dog thats not a piss take, what type of blood do you favour in your dogs please dont say Desart dog x Huskie im good but for f**k sake give me a punchers chance lol
-
Lurchers are very clever dogs, well as clever as the owner
-
any one else out there train there Lurchers!!!!!!!
-
Yeah but he's broke his to rabbits....catchable or uncatchable???? Either way he still expects them to catch rabbits...yours are schooled not to chase deer or badgers....full stop...not just deer or badgers you deem non productive to chase....???? Hardly the training feat of the year mate....is it....??? Your spot on though there's some right fukn fools on here.... Any type of game can come close to my dog's and they won't flinch until I tell them too.... A rabbit has run under my dogs feet and she still didn't budge until I told her to.... It's the bullmastiff in my breeding

no that one live in essex and over run with Fallow but never run em see so many when out and about untrue just had last dog put down cancer but could slip her on a bunny in a field of deer and she would behave like they were not there first cross collie only came on here to check out other options Airdale pointer ect or should it be another collie bred, do have a soft spot for Whippets tho and they train up really well better not go into that tho may get lynched!!! I would go for a whippet mate.....don't think they would like the thought of trying to tackle a fallow... yea maybe had
