  1. Bargain ammo factory. Price drop to £120 without the 223 shell plate but inc postage.
  2. I have a Lee Pro 1000 Progressive Press Kit for sale. I originally used this for 9mm reloading and it was a great way to churn out ammo. I am getting back into reloading for a rifle I haven't yet got and so I've moved to a single stage press for that purpose. This press is especially suited for pistol calibres, but it will reload the smaller rifle calibres. Check out the Lee Precision site. http://www.leeprecision.com/cgi/catalog/browse.cgi It comes with the original 9mm dies. Comes with the small calibre shell feeder and the tubes and the pro disk powder dispenser.
  3. Great Lad to deal with. Experienced hunter, very friendly and reliable.

  4. Me and my pal went for varmints in 22". There is a view that the longer barrel gives better performance and accuracy and the extra weight in the barrel helps with the same. I don't think that there's much in it. The advantage of a shorter barrel for vehicle shooting or extended carry will probably outweigh any performance or accuracy loss. We use ours as field sniping tools, so the extra weight is not an issue. Get a good sling and bipod in any event and make sure your barrel is as floated as possible. Just check that the stock isn't pushing against one side of the barrel
  5. I'm also in the market for an older 4x4 for shooting, maybe a suzuki or a fourtrack. I'm based in Leeds if anyone has something suitable and cheap. Thanks
  6. Well done. We've got to ensure youngsters are involved to keep the sport going. He sounds like a sensible young man and lucky to have you show him the ropes. Keep up the good work.
  7. I keep my bipod folded out on the lowest setting to help with the weight. I've also got the lighter barrel, I think a varmint barrel on a 22LR is a bit too heavy. There are after market stocks available, but they are costly. May be someone could help with a butt insert, like you get on shotguns. Will require some fiddling. The other thing to get is a gunslinger Corral http://www.gunslingercorral.com/ It attaches to your belt and then clips around the butt of your rifle while it's over your shoulder. I use mine with the 17 which has a 20" varmint barrel. Good luck.
