  1. I don't hunt, but I've spent all my day looking for a ferret some idiot set out in the forrest because he didn't want it anymore.. (didnt find it, probably dead by now...).. Wish that ferret had been treined that way...! Does it really work with a dog whistle? In that case I think I'll try it.
  2. Perfect Pics, good job! What camera are you using?
  3. If then seem to go on fine then let them live, but if they are in any pain it's better to give them rest. sometimes the mother bites some of the tail of the pups when she gives birth bacause she tries to helt them out, but In your case I think the others are right, I would keep a real close eye on that line and don't breed with those pups, no matter how good workers they migt turn out to be its' not ok to breed on deformed ferrets!
  4. I seriously doubt it would work, and milk and sugar is about the worst thing you can give your ferrets, so really... please don't!
  5. I'm glad he's better, good ting you found out in time.
  6. Great pics! Now theres not only rabbits in the trees, but ferrets as well..! What will come next? The dog? lol
  7. If they eat the white (I,m not sure what it's called in english?) and not the plum it can cause hair loss indeed. You should not give more than a couple of eggs a week anyway. I give mine a whole raw egg sometimes, it's great fun for them to get it opened.
  8. even though cat food isn't for ferrets it still shouldn't kill them. Unless somethings very very wrong with it! They died suddenly at the same time? Sounds like some kind of poisoning...
  9. I feed my ferrets BARF but you could give them dry food as well, meat is just better for them.
  10. my ferrets are always getting hold of slugs hate it my mum puts a bowl with some beer in "nooooo save the beer " gets them a treat though bowl is always full in the morning LoL at least they die happy in that way (waste of beer though) Or you could just drink the beer to forget about the Slugs, works either way.
  11. My mum always use to salt them, thats just nasty! And sometimes she collects a whole bucket of them and run them over with boiling water. Theres really many where they live. I once caught one of my ferrets chewing on one but I didn't let her eat it.
  12. OMG I really don't know what I would have done! (had a hart attact most likely) I'm suddenly glad to live in borring Denmark with almost no snakes...
  13. Is it heathy for them in any way? I give my ferrets eggs (plum), dried meat and sometimes ducksoup if I feel like giving them a treat. I suppose goat milk is ok once in a while.
  14. why would you give a grown up ferret goat milk? Is there any reason to?
  15. I can't see anyting wrong on those photos. Is there any fluid comming from the eyes? And does she think the eyes has changed or has it been like that always? If theres no fluid from the eyes and if thats the way it has looked all the time I would not do anything. If she can see a change in the eyes and thinks that it's all wrong then I would go to the vet.
  16. maybe in a couple of years he'll put them on the ground then. Sorry magwitch, I'm sure you can hang the rabbits as high as you wish
  17. Those are very great pictures! I really like the one of the hanging rabits !
  18. they do need the calcium from bones if you feed only barf. My experience is that they eat the smaller bones as well as the meat, and I don't starve my ferrets to get them to eat bones.
  19. Could be adrenal disease Or some other kind of tumor or staying to long in heat as the others says.
  20. You have been misinformed.I have kept poleys for years and the hardest bite i ever had was from a f****n albino fert.I have never kept or worked anything but poleys.my poleys are not scared of anything they are a bit eratic as kits but i reckon thats just the large space i have always given them. There a dream to work.Im not knocking anyone who keeps ferts btw. Each to their own I apologise i read the first post then glanced down the rest.I see were back on the old 100%poley rubbish I wrote that maybe polecats can be good hunters, I don't know anything about that and I have never s
  21. only 100% polecat I know is actually very kind to people but afraid of anything unknown. I think she would die of fear if you took her out hunting. Others I've heard of has been very very hard to handle, biting HARD and being unsecure around people. Maybe polecats can be good workers, what do I know, but I'm pretty sure that often a tame ferret will be way better because its not afraid of everything and if raised well they are easy to handle.
  22. Great pictures! Looks like a really nice day
