  1. Thanks for all the replies, it seems that it is safe enough to feed them on shot game. Which is a relief as this is what I aim to feed mine on. I am guessing that they can get piosoned from heavy metals as can any living creature, but obviously not so prone as birds. It was the afore mentioned article in countrymans that prompted my querry.
  2. Do ferrets get poisoned by lead? I think I know the answer to this but ask anyway. And if they do, as I suspect, how do you safely feed them on shot game?
  3. I get them next week. A poley mother and her silvery cream daughter. I have handled them both a bit and they are both really sociable. The kit is this years and only 7 wks old or there abouts, is it possible or likely for the mother to go back into season this year? I can't wait, my missus thinks I'm daft, but she's never seen a ferret at work or play.
  4. I heard black rabbits were introduced from the continent some where. I also heard that they have a greater resistance to mixy. I don't know how true both these statements are
  5. Thats a brilliant idea and looks good too. Keep extending. Dan

  11. Went out this morning with my new s400 and she took her first bunny with me. The sun gently rising over the misty fields, the birds singing and frogs croaking in the pond. A woodpecker hammering in a nearby tree. What a beautiful morning, made perfeck by a clean kill at 35ish yrds. Iwould have got more but my fieldcraft is a bit ropey and I have as much stealth as a blind elephant. Still I can only get better (I've been saying that for years.) Dan.
  12. I got the 400 and its a great gun for the money but it does recoil like a canon, I should probably tune it. I've heard the 300s trigger is not fantastic but you can pick em up for pennies so you get what you pays for. I Wish I'd got a weirauch or air arms.
  13. Hi, I've only recently got the same myself and when I bought it the guy selling told me not to let it go below 100 bar. Also I fill mine with a pump so for me its best to keep it topped up so I dont have any marathon pumping sessions. Regards Dan.

  18. I asked my local vitnery how much to spay a jill and they said £68 Is this normal?
  19. Your work is fantastic. I'm looking forward to doing similar myself, just as soon as I find a nice cheap aas400. Do you know of any other timbers that might be suitable? Keep up the good work. Atb Dan.
  20. where did you get these ferts? I arranged to get two( same combo as yours) from mercia ferret welfare in cov. I told the woman on the phone that I wanted to work them, best to be up front and she didn't seem to have a problem. However when I went to pick up the ferrets, a pair of beautiful polies< she said I couldn't have them for working. Oh no these are pets only! Fair enough but she could have told me on the phone. By the way try working them and if they don't then you know but I bet they will, in the blood etc dan
  21. Feck me Gazza that puts my blackie to shame
  22. I felt bad after because I heard that Black rabbits are imune to the mixy and this buck may have sired a whole load of imune rabbits. But the land owner wants them gone or at least controled. It had a beautiful pelt and totaly free of fleas. Dan
