  1. No sheep but plenty of flea riddled cats.
  2. All the best and get well soon Col. Dan.
  3. I just discovered loads of tics on both my poor ferrets . It's bizzare as I handle them every day and haven't noticed anything before. Also I'm not sure where they could have got them. I removed all off one of the ferrets and most off the other but she was getting stressed so I'll do the rest later. Where's the most likely source?: A. bedding, a mixture of shavings and hay medicated with menthol. I get it free off my Bro. B. Food, rabbit, most of which has been frozen. C. Playtime in one of my greenhouses, converted into a ferret run. D. Short exersion into my nieghbours overgrown garden
  4. I repeat, what calibre?
  5. Shame. Good luck with sale. Should sell ok as its cheap.
  6. What caliber? and how come its gone up £50?
  7. Try here :http://www.protex.com/ And yes panel pins and I think they were 1"
  8. Dimensions are roughly 15" long X 9" deep X 71/2" high. For construction I just pinned and glued (pva i hope it holds in wet). I just punched the heads and filled then sanded. Its a bit rough which will become more apparent when I varnish it. I may even paimt it to disguise the roughness. The screws werent small I just filed them after. Have a go its as easy as building a hutch, use 3mm on the back; glue, bend and pin as you bend. I got the catches from my local hardware store (not a big shed), whilst getting permission to work the proprietors land with gun, dog and fert. If you can't find
  9. Great team you've got, and I love the track thats playing who is it. Atb Dan.
  10. I made a ferret box yesterday, how much do people think I could sell it for. I'm not going to sell it just interested as I've seen them on evilbay cheap and was wondering how they can do itand make a profit. Next I'm going to make a single poachers box.
  11. Did it and had to perform reconstructive surgery, I think this has happened before by the looks of it. Still all good now. Thanks for the offer Hily but I see one a little cheaper on evilbay.
  12. Thanks for the responses guys. I think I see the resin strip, now to take the plunge and cut it.
  13. I've recently got a mk1 15' knocker and collar, at a bargain price. It all works fine but the collar is begining to perish, and probably wont last much longer. Could any one tell me if and how I can change it for a new one. Any help much appreciated. Dan.
  14. The guy I got my ferrets off has a steel pole with a ring at one end, supposedly to amplify. He says his dad use to use it to locate and probe. My friend tried and couldn't get the hang of it, besides he's got a locator.
  15. I've a mother and this years daughter, the mother has come back in season and the kit (now bigger than her mother) is scruffing and dragging. Dominance, hormones, playfulness who knows? They are complex creatures and every individual is different.
  16. I feel soory for you lad but it would be a bad situation for the ferret or any animal. Maybe you could get to know some one local to you who would be willing to take you out working, most ferreters would be glad of someone younger than themselves to jump into hedges and ditches to grab difficult rabbits. Good luck and don't lose intrest for feck sake.
  17. The kit. My daughters have named them for me. The jill is Alabama and the kit is Snowy. Daisy my JRT is really interested She tried to bite one the other day but I gave her a stern telling off and since she has been respectfull of them, even while they are on the floor. However I will never leave them alone together as i think she would relish the chance to kill them. I'm hoping to work them together, so any advice on how to condition dog to ferret would be gratefully recieved. Dan.
  18. I have one of these systems and they work well, they are manual index but this is no biggy. The engineering and service are second to none. They are particularly good for lamping, however you have to count your shots as there is no indication that you have shot your last. Also if you want more mags it can be a bit expensive. I hope this helps. Atb Dan.
  19. Spit on the palm of your hand and offer this to the fert. Thats what an old boy told me. I don't kow if it works, I usualy let the ferret bite as I'm to slow but they alwys let go.....eventualy. Keep perservering.
  20. The 200 has a sturdier barrel, if it wern't for the small stock (perfect for a thirteen year old) I would have one. I might get one any way and make a new stock, then I'll have both.
  21. The Air Arms 200/400 are very good. I wouldn't know about the ultra but I do know B.S.A make cracking barrels. Does your budget include scopes and filling equipment if so you wont afford all of it. Cheaper to go for a decent springer,(teaches good technique aswell). Whatever you choose shoot safe and enjoy.
  22. This is the mum, the daughter is asleep and I don't want to disturb her as they are just arrived and settling in. I will post a pic of little one as soon as. They are both really well behaved, which is a credit to the guy I got them off, top geezer.
