  1. Sorry guys, when I said fly I meant actually flying, like any other bird. Its just that when someone mentions getting a birds wings clipped, I think of parrots and the like, the birds that you dont want to literally fly away. I just honestly never heard of chicken getting their wings clipped before, that all I know all too well about them jumping with the aid of their wings, I used to have 15 chickens before i moved house (I had the room), Blue laced Wyandotte's and Black Rocks and they could also jump onto a 4ft fence, I also had one that used to scale the side of my 7ft dog pen, "w
  2. I'll send them out the same day I get the money and you wouldn't have got it at this price, Only a quid dearer than what your offering them at, but I was in a rush and you hadn't posted your ad then
  3. Then why the dumb question??
  4. Genuine qeustion, not a dig!!! Why would you want to clip a chickens wings?? They can't fly
  5. Agree 100% SJM, we get plenty come in on a night out sqeaking, but we tend to leave them as it is not old big ears that we are after
  6. if the light is in the hares eyes is it not in the dogs eyes too. I take it you don't lamp very often? But just for the record, no, if your lamping properly, you lamp the quarry, not the dog
  7. I ordered one direct from the guys website, ordered Sunday, arrived Tuesday morning. They are decent calls, had varied success with them over the years, worth the money though
  8. A lamped rabbit IMHO is one of the easiest things to catch, especially when it gets to a hedge/stone wall with the light in its eyes. Although the inexperienced lamper can make it look alot harder than it should be though Lamped hares are EASIER to catch than daytime IMO, but a lamped one is still no easy task and will still take a hell of alot more catching than a rabbit, unless obviously you pick it up out of the squat.
  9. PATIENCE is the key Lurcherchavvy. I once took on a Saluki x Whippet a few years ago, an absolute diamond of a dog on the lead, but take her into a field and she would run, and run, and run. Whenever I got near her she would take off again ....very frustrating as you can imagine!! I don't know what was the matter with the dog, she wasn't running away in a fearful sort of way, it was more like she was playing. Dont know if this is what yours is doing? She hadn't seen anything when I got her and I made the fatal mistake of taking her lamping, well you can guess what happened.... it took
  10. She is starting to take shape now Moll, a nice little pup, all the best with her..........and good luck...............looks like your gonna need it!!

  16. Mush - what type of Mules do you breed?
  17. How do you work that out then? Skin is skin, it scars no matter how thin or thick it is. As giro said, no matter how good your dog is, if its seeing plenty it is bound to have one or two scars, no two ways about it.
  18. How often are all these dogs catching them, daily? weekly? every now and again?
  19. Your right there! Dogs take up the most part, but then I squeeze in my Canaries, I also love my football and then of course Drinking I was also going to say my son but he tags along with all that I do (except the drinking ) so I get the best of ALL worlds.
  20. I know what you mean, I have heard many tales of Hancock dogs being prone to injury, however the bitch i had only ever knocked one toe in her time with me and she was run on all type of ground.... just lucky I guess?
