Most of the time my terriers sit and wait for the bolt (I think this comes with experience) unless there is a rat really close to the end of the tube then a quick dig with the spade and the rat is accounted for It is not a good idea to have your dog have its head stuck down the holes with smoke bellowing out of them for any period of time IMO this does no good the rat wont bolt and I have seen terriers take a turn for the worse from doing this! Each person will find there own way of catching rats that they find works best for them, personally I don't mix the fuel too much, it is the fumes

My patterdale bitch has an excellent nose, I do ALOT of flushing out of cover for the lurcher and this bitch never seems to fail, she has never false marked (as far as I can remember!) she has followed the scent and found quarry in some unbeleivable places, it really is a joy to watch, I would trust this bitch 100% I also have a border/lakey type bitch she has a good nose also but the patterdale is by far the better. Another thing in my patterdales favour she is the type of terrier to actually USE her nose properly, she just mooches along quite slowly until she gets a strong scent, the border/

Well I must say I have been having problems with the old t'internet at home and the only time I can get on here is when I have a spare moment at work but it always good to see pics like that from BD..... well done mate.

Astra estate for mee too 1.7D (but with a TD engine in ) loads of room and good MPG. Before that I was running a little corsa, for the cheap tax/insurance more than anything but it served its purpose

Nice one Ian! I had a walk out myself with the lamp, the night didn't start all that well, I got half way to my chosen destination to realise that I had left the dog at home!! Later I fel into a dyke and got a welly full of water , only ended up with 3 rabbits in the end and a VERY near miss on a fox that suprisingly allowed me to squeak it in a second time after the dog had run it! I'm glad I was by myself!!
