So you are saying shooting does more harm than good? Get a grip. TC What do you think – overall, does the shooting industry do more good than harm to Britain's wildlife? The way I read it, the answer should be yes.......

Alugan, Do They Still Sell It In Ireland?
VOON replied to Tiercel's topic in Working Dog Health & Training Talk
Collie blooded dogs are very sensitive to it, and the dosage has to be bang on......I think the dosage is 1ml per 50kg...the lice treatment for cattle is very competitive 30 euro over here for 500 ml. I stick 1 or 2 ml at the base of the tail and the neck depending on the size of the dog...you can water it down and spray kennels as well. -

I used to use the bath to bathe them in put the required amount of water in the bottom of the bath. Stand the dog in it and sponge the liquid all over them and just watch the fleas drop off. Was great for mange as well. TC[/quote Its banned because its stays in your system like ddt -

We are both looking for the "game gene"I also believe in line / inbreeding over best to best, but do you really believe that we are all breeding for the "game gene". How do you define game when 90% of black dogs ( using black dog as an example) will bay, and mix with their quarry. Can a real game earth dog stay in a hold deep in the bowels of an earth for 4,5,6 plus hours? I have never owned Wheatens pr bulls or been involved in the trials, but from what I've read on here, that if they sounded they were deemed not game. Von some good points, but over the years I have seen a lot of bull cross

i would say hes employed by them but he certainly dose inform on people he has also mentioned to me people he supposedly goes out with i didnt tell him i know the same people and they have never met him let alone go out with him .he was involved in the grimsby lot that all got jail read it as you like IMO he knew information from rspca interviews and he wasn't there at the time of the interview .My advice is dont post photos , if you dont know some one dont tell them anything that way no one can inform on you . Is this not a type of entrapment? If he's encouraging people to commit offen -
You're breeding for traits, yes. Bulldogs will go to ground.... They also have good noses, and they also travel... You raise a good point however, what are the main traits you should look for in a working terrier? For me it's, 1. Staying ability or gameness. 2. Working style or ability. Ie bayer, mixer etc. brains, game sense 3. Nose, 4 Size.

I think that's what he advocates Al, but with selectivity, no kennel blindness or breeding for breedings shake just to keep a line going, by definition best to best should be selective.

Post on another forum on filial degeneration... One of the historical breeders who has always been of particular interest to me was D.A McClintock of Oklahoma. As far as I have been able to ascertain, McClintock never matched a dog; yet, his accomplishments as a breeder were extraordinary, and his line of dogs was in particular demand by the dog men of his day. He wrote a number of articles for his contemporary dog magazines, and they make fascinating and instructive reading even today. For example, in one article Mr McClintock begins by apologizing for a lack of formal education, then goe

Collie Heavy Lurcher Question
VOON replied to forest of dean redneck's topic in Lurchers & Running Dogs
The theory behind it is if you breed the 3/4 collie back to a greyhound, you get a 5/8 greyhound, which would have more pace than a than a straight 50/50 cross with more brains than a 1/4 collie. Anyone got experience of breeding this cross? Does the theory work in the real world? -
Also pays to use different products with different ingredients as the get resistant to products if you keep using them

You can use a cypermethrin based cattle tick repellent either. One spot on the shoulders and one at the base of the tail. About 1 mill per 10 kg. it's in a lot of insect repellents. 30 euro for 500 ml google ectospec. The same ingredient is in K9 advantix for dogs

It's a bit of craic.....bit of devilment makes the memories and stories we love to tell for years afterwards. Yep some people will have one to many and make a tit of themselves, it happens on every social gathering that humans attend except for a pioneer or AA annual do. And if people want to wear realtree or moleskins, that's their prerogative, that's the benefits of a free country. The world would be a very dull place without diversity.

by Raymond H. Oppenheimer 1. Remember that the animals you select for breeding today will have an impact on the breed for many years to come. Keep that thought firmly in mind when you choose breeding stock. 2. You can choose only two individuals per generation. Choose only the best, because you will have to wait for another generation to improve what you start with. Breed only if you expect the progeny to be better than both parents. 3. You cannot expect statistical predictions to hold true in a small number of animals (as in one litter of puppies). Statistics onl

Surely not 100 % happy with what I have at the minute....a lil big, like a bit more sense as well. So hope to breed that into them, then linebreed back, and if it works it works....
