  2. you guys are way better than me when i dig in sticky clay i end up covered in the stuff. boots twice the size spade hands face covered in the slippery stuff. slipping and sliding and usually end up arse over tit. its easier to get on the shovel than it is to get off. i usually end up looking like the fcuking swamp monster. and thats just at my work. and the hacks i get, dont get me started on the hacks.. . foxdropper touched on the subject of coat. i had a really rough coated dog years ago that got into real trouble a couple of times in this type of wet clay and couldnt move forward or back h

  11. we used to run a wee show years ago. the lad picking up the lure had a spot of bother getting a little smooth patt off. so resorted in biting its ear. it let go alright......spun round and grabbed his nose. . .. . at around the same time i had a little sealiam type russell put him in the little trap. at the racing at a gamefair and he came out like a little rocket. the only problem was he left half of his arse in the trap. there was a nail sticking through and he got hooked up . the standby vet stitched him up on the bonnet of his landrover. free of charge. 23 stitches. we used t

  16. but its not that simple is it. if it was this discussion wouldnt need to take place. on the face of it it is sound advice. but related to the original post. would you be better sticking to the tight lines or going outside them. to have a better chance. of continuing to consistantly produce the goods. did robbie quit becouse he was a quitter. or becouse he was owned by a young over keen lad that asked a little to much of him...? only you will know the answer to that. i know i asked to much of one or to and only recently ive realised that. there is an old lakie not far from me that has never

  20. i dont have to ask.. i felt like asking . i have the dog. the idea was to loan a bitch possibly during the summer months and to take a litter. to keep a pup for myself. i dont want to put the dog to stud. so was looking at all the options. ive now discounted this option also. and my next lurcher will be bought in. and this time i wont let my heart rule my head. and when i go for a bitch i will come home with a bitch . no offence taken..

  22. i was just thinking out loud. the idea is sound enough in principle. but like anything else there are the usual pitfalls. the reason i was asking is i was exploring ways of keeping a pup out of my lurcher dog. without putting him to stud. Bosun i went to see the litter i got Ozzy from with the intention of taking a bitch as i have all bitches. of course i came away with the biggest strongest male all things considered it wasnt the brightest idea and i have now discounted it. thanks for the input and pm,s.
