i would sooner have a good recall in place by 26 weeks(and i know its only 20 weeks old) and it should be well installed......as no recall no dog as you have found out for your self....and in all fairness your not going out to run bunnys with it deliberatley every day are you lets not dull the praydrive befor it kicks in fully......and ive allways start my pups of day time so the recall is second nature then you control what is geting run as no one likes a dog that just feck off lol and i have never had any probs going from day to night .......

Yep...as my mate who has done abit in this game always states why have half (offspring) when the full (sire) is still alive if thats the case? It's definately got to be thought of that way for sure imo? ATB Andy. because that would mean brother to sister mating hence better son to auntie. edited 2 add i have the sire and the son. a mate owns the litter sisters to the father. if that makes sense, and as for my internet stalkers comment below. the bitch here is 12 years old and i dont believe i mentioned using a bitch i owned Nore did I ......As you no that would be son back to dam.....

take it you will be standing on the hedg line 200/300yards away and sending them one at a time ye and then you can have afew blind retrivs that way if you mate a shit shot on the day you will still get to send them .......and then a bit of bushing..........most dogs will go in its the staying in .....

But theres nobody here saying the lurcher is uesless, its use lads trying to push saying the lurcher is as good as a Lab/Spaniel at Gundog work when thats incorrect. I reckon a Lurcher couldn't go deep back into a wood to look for an injured bird without the owner worrying a deer pops up and its gets coursed across the field infront of a load of guns, i've yet to see any lurcher that works hand signals like a proper gundog( not seen it but wont dismiss it cant be done), i think a lurcher w hereould struggle wildfowling at freezing temps', i've yet to see a lurcher that bashes brambles aside li
