to be honest i felt like getting rid but after a chat with one of my mates i decided to perservere with the not so good one. time and patience and a good marking dog is needed so as i know for sur there are rabbits in every warren i enter them into until they are upto scratch The worst thing you can do with a young ferret is put it in an empty warren. There is nothing there to stimulate it's natural hunting instinct so it's starts playing around. Most of the time it's not the ferret that needs training it's the ferreter. TC

First Motor You Went Dogging In
Tiercel replied to Robert hasselhoff's topic in Lurchers & Running Dogs
I had one of those for towing the boat, feck were they thirsty, 1600 fiat engine and no power steering. Put the dif-lock on and low ratio and they would climb a wall. TC -

why do you think its an advantage ?Because it is......you have to stand there like a plank, getting cold, while your enemy screams, shouts, stretches and get's the adrenalin pumping and surging through the body, which aids them and there decision making for the first 10 mins.... If you disrespect the Haka, they get the dander up and spear you... If you were down the pub of a night, would you stand there like a tool, while some git, jumped around you, eye's bulging, mouthing obscenities....cranking up the pyscholical pressure on you? Would you fcuk...... NZ aren't the only team that pref

Probably the same reason England are playing S Africa out there, but you being such and England stalwart I would have thought you would have known that? I wonder how the return match at the Aviva will go in a couple of weeks? Well done Ireland did the double beating the All Blacks for the first time and not only that, the only team to beat them in 19 games. I am really really pleased for you, nothing more than you deserve. TC

Feck off! Totally out classed, miles behind everybody. They might just scrape a win against Japan, if their lucky. TC

We really need a comedy gold section where all these threads can be stored for future reference. To be honest I do not know who is winding up whom or if the main perpetrator's are in this together winding every one else up, but it really is comedy genius. TC

We get far wetter weather in the West of the country than they do in the East because of our proximity to the North Atlantic and the gulf stream. A lot of the weather on the Eastern side of the country is influenced by the continent and to be honest I do not have a clue how the weather works there. This side of the country I can look at a chart of the North Atlantic for the week ahead and have a fair idea of what the week will bring as a synopsis rather than a detailed forecast. When you click on the link you will see a big high pressure in the middle of the Atlantic that is the Azores hi

We have had Northerlies and Easterlies this autumn because of a prominent high pressure over Europe it is all to do with the NAO North Atlantic Oscillation that controls the two main features of the North Atlantic weather The Icelandic low and the Azores high The pressure difference between those two weather features largely governs the jet streams movement. All the pointers so far this year point to a colder dryer winter. We shall see? TC

Capture In A Wooden Barrel Mole Trap
Tiercel replied to earth-thrower's topic in Snaring, Trapping & Pest Control
The mole make's its way into the trap and dislodges the mubble pin (trigger)by that time the noose inside of the trap will enclose around head/shoulders of the mole.the noose is connected to the spring out-side of the trap. The spring is under tension so once the pin is triggered it pulls the noose closed. Thank you for the detailed account of the workings of the trap, I had worked that out already. Thought it was strange you asking that tiercel, my mistake. What I want to know is how the mole dies, asphyxiation or trauma? I once read that a mole is likely to die instantly of org -

Many many years ago, I was friends with a very attractive woman, a mates ex-wife She ran a shop and I worked part time for her. One evening while sorting out some stock a bottle of wine appeared and disappeared pretty sharpish. Then it happened just that look that people share when you feel in the moment. The things that ran through my mind at that moment, wife, kids, was she still on the rebound? Decided there and then the wife and kids were not worth loosing for a quick fumble. Up shot is we are still friends 25 years later, and I am still married. TC
