  1. Im defonatly not planning on using it this season, i think ill go with making a 50yrd first, so ill need to make 100yrd of net i pursume that this is to allow for baggaging? How many meshes deep should i go ? And what size meshes? A good size is around 60" drop when the meshes are closed. For a 4" mesh that would be 15,5meshes deep and 14.5 meshes deep with a 4.25" mesh and the same for 4.5" mesh. Those number of meshes deep include the selvedge mesh. TC

True in certain circumstances. But, at the same time it is also false in other circumstances. Come on now,to tell someone they are talking "shite" you must know more than that. TC I will try and explain. When a rabbit hits a net during the day it is usually travelling at speeds of 20mph+, when it does hit the net it stretches the netting taught. That taughtness makes the double stranded net exactly the same as a single stranded net. It is only when the net is relaxed that the two strands part and become effective at catching rabbits by the toes. During the night, if the bant is

Right you think hand made is better and as a rule you would probably be right. But, as with every rule there are exceptions. Tell us what in your opinion makes a hand made net superior to sheet netting. TC

The double stranded stuff is no better in the day than sheet netting. In the night different story, as you say, "it is the dogs bollocks" IF set correctly. TC

To be honest about 3 months off and on Just doing a bit when I felt like it. I always try and tell people don't go looking for the end of the net just plod on and it will be finished sometime. That net started life as two ten yarders but I just picked it up when I had an hour spare and it was surprising how quick it built up in the bag so I just kept going. TC

Not necessarily, they are nicer to handle, but not always the best catcher. As the post above, it depends who made them. TC don't talk shite,a hand made net is better than machine shite anyday Just a few of the handmade nets I have made. All double stranders. 100 yarder before adding the selvedge. Adding the selvedge 3 x50 yarders Thats without the 25 yarders stop nets and the ones I have sold. I have been using longnets for over 25 years now so show us yours and we will see who is talking shit sonny boy TC

  16. I used to sell on ebay. I had a supplier of good nets (ones without holes missing meshes etc) That supplier retired, so I tried a well know netting supplier from Essex. I bought 10 sheets to start with and out of those 10 sheets two had holes in them, they were manufacturing faults. One I was lucky and I spotted, the other I was not as fortunate and it got sent out with a hole in the net. The buyer quite rightly complained so I sent him a new net and showed him how to repair the dud one I had originally sent him I am a great believer that you should treat customers as you would like to be
  17. 4 on 434 in not good feedback. Just remember this is his 3rd reincarnation on ebay this year. Each time the negative feedbacks mount up he starts a new ebay ID. Trust me I have been making nets for nigh on 45 years. This man has no scruples he knows absolutly nothing about netting rabbits, has never done it and never will. He would not know a good net if it hit him on the head. The man is a chancer, and as for the statment it was "all started by a wanker living near him". That "wanker" showed him and his son how to make nets in the first place and is one of the most respected members of th
