A trammel net is a net with three walls it has two outer walls of large mesh and an inner wall of small mesh. This is what a fishing trammel looks like. Notice that because of the dimond mesh half of the net where it joins the main line is virtually unusable as the pocket is too small. These are the trammels that we use for rabbits and instead of haveing dimond outer meshes we use square outer meshes. Each square of the outers are 12" 30cm Square. The inner meshes are aroun 60" in depth and are tied in @ 10 meshes per square. This then creates a net that has a hell of a l

That is exactly the same as the 6z long nets we use here. The 4z would be 210/12. TC

Well done Nige, Hard is not the word. I tried to photo one the other week the bugger would not stay still for more than a couple of seconds. I would just get it into focus and it would be off I had photos of bare branches or photos of a bare branch and a little fuzzy thing in the corner of the shot. Well done on getting the shot. TC

Personally I don't give a flying fcuk who you are, or how many accounts you have. But, I do take exception to being lied to. Alright this is anal I know, but your writing style reminds me of someone on here. As I used to think why has he gone to the trouble of getting the grammer correct yet cannot be bothered to put in capital letters or full stops. It will come to me. You also seem to have an intimate knowledge of things that have happend even a couple of years ago on here. You seem to know people and what buttons to press to get a response. Please don't insult me by saying that you have -
95mm or 3.5" mesh is too small for catching rabbits as a long net as they cannot get their head through a mesh. However, it is very good for making trammel nets. If the net is 100 m deep multiply 100 by 3.5" =350" a long net should be around 60" in depth when the meshes are closed up.18 meshes deep would give you a net of 63 inches in depth. So that would mean you could make 5 long nets out of one sheet of 100 meshes deep. TC

im saying you are wrong marra I am just saying you are not who you proport to be. We will see The problem with writing / typing is that it is a habit. There are certain words I cannot spell and no matter what forum I am on it just follows me around. But, that goes for grammer also, simple things like not using a capital i when refering to ones self are all indecations when multiple id's are used, no matter what the ID. Of course, I may well be barking up the wrong tree. But, somehow I do not think so. TC -

This site should have what you need. http://tintex.com.au/ If you weigh the net you will know how much dye to buy 1 pack does 2.5Kilos. TC

There are three types of running lines available at the moment. Two nylon and one polypropelene, the polyprop lines are the ones that most net sellers sell with their nets, for one reason only, because it is cheaper than nylon. However, my personal opininon is that it is below the standard acceptable for long net lines. The weave is loose and gets plucked at every opportunity that leaves you with a line that has bubbles in it that stop the net running along it, not to mention weakening the line. The two types of nylon are good lines in that they have a tight weave and do not pluck like the

Wales have a very simple game plan. When it works well it is hard to stop. AKA Cuthberts try on Saturday. You are right what you say about JR drawing two or often more defenders, but it is never quick ball or offloaded with him, therefore the advantage of him drawing the defenders is lost. For Cuthberts try the first phase was slow ball but the ball was taken up again and they were presented with quick second phase ball. JD2 and Roberts running in a y direction hold the defence that gives Cuthbert the gap he needed. As I said simple yet effective. http://www.youtubeslow.com/index.php?v

Is it just me or do others think that Mr J Roberts is about as much use as a fart in a sandstorm? Three dropped passes in the first half, dieing with the ball and not getting over the gain line, did not pass to JD2 once. Time for Scott Williams to wear the 12 shirt, me thinks! Thoughts please. TC

Because as I explained in the last post in a net with good slack, IE; a good catching net with a 4" mesh. There are 18 meshes to every yard of rigged net. So as an example if the net has 180 meshes it will make a 10 yard net that is half it's stretched length or as some like to call it 100% bag. I can see you are a beginner just take the good advice you have been offered leave them alone. They are no good at catching rabbits. Please trust me. TC
-
That is very good advice M. To find the correct length of line you need count the meshes( it only takes a few minutes) Then divide the amount of meshes by 18 if it is a 4" mesh and that will give you the yardage of the net. As an example if you had 90 meshes divide that by 18 gives you 5. So 90 meshes is a 5 yard net rigged by halves. TC

I am sure that in your job as a part time pest controler that you are getting, you will need a working dog? TC

I did try some and because they are o-rings they are not designed to stretch, they have no elasticity in them. I went for a size simular to the castration ring hoping to do the same job, but they just would not stretch. That said, I did not try a smaller size to fit them without bending over. TC

What is the net made of Nylon or Spun polyester? They need diffent dyes. TC

The one major drawback with bisley nets is that they do not have enough slack. They are 2/3rds rigged, that is the net is 2/3rds of the stretched length of the netting. That works out like this a good rigged net will be rigged by halves, 100 yards of stretched netting will give you a 50 yard net. A 50 yard bisley net will only have 75 yards of stretched netting therefor the rigged net is 2/3rds the length of the stretched netting. TC
