    It's the proving of it is the hard part. Metaphorically trying to brow beat her in to submission will get no where. It is better to educate and show that we are just not callous killers but are actually trying to keep a balance for all species. They may not like it, but most I have come into contact with accept that it has to be done because of man's encroachment on the environment.     All counterfeits are illegal to use under the Pests Act 1954. They have not been approved under Spring Traps Approval Order (2012) and anyone using a non-approved trap can be prosecuted. Unless they are classed as clones.......then they are perfectly legal...     Could be, but the pickles I made from the same batch of vinegar are still going strong and have plenty of flavour. I tend to make up the pickling vinegar in litre batches with the sugar and spices, then return to the bottles to use when needed. I am really anal about sterilising the jars and lids and usually go over and above what is actually needed. It's got me flummoxed right enough. TC

    I made a jar of eggs a couple of weeks ago and after 2 weeks they started disintegrating in the jar and opening the jar was not a pleasant experience. It was obviously something I had done / not done, but I am at a loss to know what. I have made them in the past with no problems. TC

    When something does not add up in my mind, I tend to re-read the posts in a thread to try and get it straight in my mind. I have done this on this thread and to be honest I am somewhat confused.     I must be one of those rare people who do not give a fig if I catch or not when I go out these days. That said, it is always nice to come home with something for your effort. The numbers game, the best dog game I have been through them all. But we all see sense in the end and a reverse 3/4 bed collie would do me fine now. Fast enough to take a few on the lamp and with more brain than me, perhaps it could teach an old dog a few new tricks? TC

    A nice video of urban fox life. To be honest I think that making that video was your ultimate goal. You have made it and proved that you could trap the foxes any time you like, so your happy. One thing I will agree with though, is unless you have a humane method of despatch, do not trap them. As always just my opinion. TC

It reminds me of when I was in my twenties and seeing a girl who told me that every time she heard running water she wanted to pee. Up until then I had never heard of it, but for a while after every time I heard running water I wanted to pee. TC

    Fixer all the way, if it can be fixed I will find a way. Drives the wife mad but gives me great satisfaction. The microwave went the floor rusted though where the dolly that holds the turntable had worn though the bottom, simple repair just cut a disc out of ply and it lasted another six months before the ring caught fire. Just replaced the plywood ring and worked for another six months. I hate this throw away culture we seem to have. Certain things I will not have a go at though, gas and electric are a total no no to me. TC

    Can you still buy the proper stuff ? Wasn't coal tar banned by the EU (yawn !)... I've seen Wright's soap on sale, but it doesn't look the same as it did ? They sell it in Home Bargains but it's coal tar scented. But you can get the real stuff on ebay, for an arm and a leg. TC
