    Took the granddaughter for a walk this morning looking for a particular type of stick I want to cut this Winter, no joy on the stick front but I did see these, I am not sure what they are? They are not Snow drops they have a flower head like Wild Garlic but the leaves are all wrong. The flower heads are about 12" to 14" in height, any ideas anyone? Photos taken with phone so not the best quality. TC

    if im honest mate,,and you really think about it,,its a fault,,,she shouldnt really give up her catch,,,she does the same thing with my little brindle bitch bonnie,,,and my terrier,,,we use it to good efect as you can see,,and in some ways im glad she does it ,,as both bonnie and dorris retrive far better with softer mouth,,,but venus is the dominant dog in all respects,,so why she does it im not sure..     You know Gaz you right, Christmas eve is great, the youngest granddaughter 4 was here earlier and was running around like a fool, so wound up. We always cook the meats on Xmas eve, the smell of the meats cooking, the kids wound up takes me back a few years to when our brood were small. I love it. TC

    Never used a slip, too much hassle. You can't beat a dog walking by your side and going when told. Or as happened with you one gets up and they are on it in a flash, no pulling waiting for you to release them. Wait for the no prey drive posters to come along though, they will tell you you are doing it all wrong and your dog has not got any prey drive. TC

    i was hunting over 30 years ago i wish i had taken a lot more pictures .just to look back on seen some good dogs in action time dims the memory in my case anyway .atb. Funny thing is my memory is not what it was, but I can still remember vividly the first rabbit my first lurcher caught on the lamp. I can even remember how the rabbit ran, how the dog turned it off the fence and stayed between the fence and the rabbit till it caught it. I would love to say it was a text book catch but it was more a war of attrition that the dog won. After that it is only the memorable nights that stick out,

    As long as the fish is for food then I do not have a problem with it. It is a very selective type of fishing and no doubt requires a great amount of skill. TC

    I remember as a boy reading Jack Ivester Lloyd in the shooting times about his days out with his bobberty pack of terriers. The details he put into how the pack worked a rabbit or rat along a hedgerow, the excitement he built up in my mind just reading his words, the kill as such was a necessary anti climax, you just did not want that hunt to end. Hunting is not about the trophies it's all about the hunt. Perhaps I should say It should be all about the hunt. Today it seems unless you can post photos of bigger bags than the last man your a failure. People like that are not really true hunte

    Just one question, just for the ones that were hunting more than 15 years ago. What did you do before internet forums and digital camera's? The internet and digital photography have a lot to answer for IMHO. TC

    This is the way it works. Would you mug an old lady in the high street them go on a forum and post pictures of the money? You may not get done for that but you can bet you last quid that you are now on the radar with someone. It may be Hewitt or one of the other nutters out there but they will over time collect enough evidence to cause suspicion. I just cannot believe that people think they are invincible, that no one can touch them? TC

    Because they aren't shot and retrieved that's why. Why would anyone lamp 50 odd rabbits with the dog then shoot 1 hare? People think that by adding "shot and retrieved" it makes everything ok. Apologies to the 1 in a 100 who actually has shot the hare. Same applies to adding "pre-ban" when talking about your 2 year old dog. Legal pics are no problem at all. Ive already told everyone I SHOT THE HARE IN QUESTION, nottzhunter and rew was out with the dogs and i was out with the gun. So yes it would be stupid to say they killed all the rabbits with dogs but got the gun out to shoot one h
