  1. There is no magic behind what he is doing. It is just practical solutions for problems. But he does have the will to see them through and use whatever bargaining power he has to get what he wants. TC
  2. Seriously though, it looks as if it is spring activated and some kind of ratchet.
  3. Just take the back off and throw it in there, if it is of any importance it will find it's own place.
  4. Bad news for Ireland Sexton is out for the Scottish game. I am sure they will cope. TC
  5. It is actually, it uses a litter tray. TC
  6. Yes it is still alive and ruling the roost with the dogs in the house, I will try and get some new pictures for you. TC
  7. 18th march could well be a grand slam decider in the Aviva Stadium, but before that there is a lot of rugby to be played, lets hope it's a memorable tournament. TC
  8. It should be a cracker of a game. Enjoy. TC
  9. To be honest I doubt that very much. TC
  10. Yep it's that time of year again. What are your predictions for this years championship? It is hard to see past England the way they have been playing, but Ireland have really done themselves proud and are playing with an intensity that can be hard to live with. Scotland are also improving and I think we will see a step up from the Autumn form. Italy with new coach Conor O'Shea also beat the Boks last autumn. The French what can be said despite not turning up for the last few years seemed to get it together in the Autumn so they could be the usual unpredictable selves leaving us guessing what
  11. im not sure if the pva will do much. I read that it stops the ends drying quicker, than the rest of the stick stopping splitting at the ends ! time will tell i suppose . theres a good video on youtube of a guy heat bending the sticks with a wallpaper stripper ,worked really well .he piped it to some 6" round ducting, and put the sticks in the ducting with the steam and then he straightened them easily. 12. Yes, when it is discussion, not when it is a write up, even if the write up was a wind up, which seems to have escaped some on this thread. TC
  13. https://www.theguardian.com/environment/2017/jan/29/britain-us-trade-deal-gm-food-eu-rules Pity it was the Guardian reporting it, otherwise there might have been a grain of truth in it. (Pun intended) TC
  14. It depends what sky you have, we have a recordable Zgemma box with an external 8gb hard drive, you need to have had sky plus previously to record with the zgemma box two cables coming from the dish. You get all of sky sports plus you can get PPV free. TC
  15. Heard today of a flock that was destroyed before testing and were tested after and were actually clean. Another flock was due to be destroyed but the owner wanted them tested first. They took bloods, but will not tell the owner the results, if it's positive they will just turn up and destroy the flock if negative the owner will not be informed, so will be in limbo waiting for them to turn up. Edited to add: I was also told that geese are not affected by this strain but can carry the strain and pass it on. TC
  16. Thats what we have and to be honest can't fault it. TC
  17. Once you start getting informed opinions instead of speculation then you start getting near the truth instead of phyco-babble. TC
  18. This thread actually needs to be put in the correct forum for it, so I am moving it to the trapping forum. TC
  19. They are designed to be low maintenance in their native New Zealand. That does not necessarily make them a low maintenance trap here. The gas cannisters have a life not measured in time but applications. if for example two were set in different locations. One on a hill side for stoats and one in a pig shed for rats. Would they both last six months? Until you can come up with the actual laws regarding the use of the said traps, I would say speculating is not the way forward. TC
  20. The difference suggested is that with typical spring type traps the trapper is more aware of non target kills and can pull the traps or modify the set if it becomes an issue. These kiwi traps (presumably made by the DoC?) don't have that inherent means of assessing every kill by their nature. With Fenns, if you kill 10 hotchys ya know about it whereas with these automatic traps you could kill a 100 and possibly never know. Well that's how I understood it.... That's what I took the post to mean. It also raises the question about visiting traps every day. I surmise that the same req

  23. Shellduck, Oystercatcher with the curlews and a pair of mallard. It looks like a shovellers head but a shovellers beak is black not yellow. TC
