  1. Just before I bought any more traps I changed my probe from a wooden one to a metal fishing rod rest which gave more purchase and depth. I struck lucky on what appears to be the main run from one end of the garden to the other and caught one of the blighters with a scissor trap that night. Then another the next night, same trap, then a third the night after, same trap again. Now, fingers crossed, all has been quiet for two weeks with no more activity. My learning has been to relocate the traps frequently if blocked or not triggered. That way you stand more chance of hitting the "mother lo
  2. I think I'll get some duffus type traps. Chap here says to buy the "original" from the Flat Pack Co. in Yorkshire so as to get the best quality: http://www.molecatching.com/moletrapreview.html Is that view generally accepted or are there cheaper ones just as good? Many thanks. PS. Three small hills this morning...
  3. Our rear garden backs onto farmland and over 25 years I've dealt with maybe a dozen separate mole infestations using the standard buried trap. Only had one trap, and always caught the mole. BUT... A few months back another mole or moles started throwing up earth. 7/8 locations around the garden. Because of this I now have 4 traps. As usual I use a probe, mole gloves on, to locate the tunnels, trying to find them a good way from the hills so that back digging of earth doesn't set off the trap without the mole inside it. Cut a hole, set the trap, halve the divot to block light, cover with an

Total strip of the action, including a trigger strip & polish. Action re-blued by Colin Molloy at MAG. The best bluing in the UK some say. The front sight is new. Rear sight can't be re-blued as it's made of an alloy, not steel. V-Mach kit supplied and tailored for the rifle by Steve Pope. Around 11 ft lbs as I specified. The old internals (TWANG!) are supplied but are scrap really. Ex

  7. Can this be used against any other kind of nut?
  8. Is it not better to have someone trust your confirmation that what you're selling is just fine, and then to simply buy it based on that? Do you like 'tyre kickers'?
  9. Yes, it's still there with the toys! What's with all this 'looking' and 'trying out' stuff? If you'd said the fault was fixed and which stock it was I'd have just said "I'll have it" and arranged postage!
  10. You've ignored my two messages to you whilst you were online tonight regarding the faulty magazine indexing you'd previously posted about on here. Doe to this, I'm no longer interested. Don't bother responding now.

  12. Not many people know that the Hornet is a fully regulated rifle for consistent shot to shot performance. Perhaps if you gave more info on condition and maybe some photos it would help sell it? Well worth £240 if in good condition.
  13. no wind up mate, and the gun is now sold thanks trapper 10 nice genuine bloke No such member here.
  14. I just phoned the above number and the guy who answered doesn't have any airguns for sale, nor does he know anything about this ad. Also, looking at your profile and previous posts. 6 days ago you were selling a Rapid you were 'given as a gift', but quoted a different mobile?: Could you explain the above and also why you're selling what must be at least £400 worth of kit 2nd hand for just £200? What's wrong with it?? Many thanks! David
  15. A good gun shop will confiscate your rifle if over power. A 59 yarder with open sights!? That WOULD be good! No, I use a Hawke SR6 3-12x44. I have 9 SR6s!
  16. Go for something with adjustable focus (AO or PX) for more flexibility. I have eight Hawke SR6 scopes and a few Airmax's. Keep a look out for them 2nd hand.
  17. I've moved from .22 Mosquitos and .177 AA Fields to Falcon Accuracy Plus. 13.4 grains and 7.3 respectively. As accurate as the mozzies but flatter still, tightening POIs by about 20-25%. OK in wind too. And cheaper by far than the Webleys! A few weeks back in an HFT comp I knocked down a measured 59 yarder over water with some wind using my old V-Mach'd HW80. Complete guesswork where to aim but still my shot of the year so far!
  18. I assume from your answer that both rifles are free, in which case I'll have them both! Please deliver for free too asap. Many thanks! David
  19. Dear Mr Whippetboy, I write in connection to your advertisement for two air rifles, a BSA and an SMK. I wonder if it would be possible for you to give a little more information on both, For instance is the Spitfire a carbine or full length, is it 'high fill' or 'standard fill', if standard how many buddy bottles do you have with it, does it have a silencer, what condition is it in? Perhaps some similar information would assist in selling the SMK too? Also, I'd like to know what price for each rifle bought outright, and postage costs, and it may also assist if you were to give
  20. Start with Nitromors and follow the instructions, wearing rubber gloves. Use fine wire wool dipped in the stripper for any stubborn areas. Try not to use a scraper as you may gouge the wood under. Then use a grade of sandpaper suited to how bad the wood is. You may need to start at grade if it has bad scratches. Work your way up the grades and when you get to 400 switch to wet and dry used wet in a bucket of water. Then 800, 1200 and 1500 wet and dry the same way. Let it dry overnight and use 1500 wet and dry used dry to remove any raised fibres. If the stock looks patchy from stain being rem
