  1. Good bit of kit. Spot-on every time for me.
  2. In the Deben Catalogue it shows a 22AH.
  3. Make sure the collar is at 90 degrees to the receiver. i.e put it flat on the ground and measure straight up. Do you still get a problem?
  4. Absolutely superb performance. Don't know what I did without it. Would never go back to lead acid.
  5. They far outperform a 10AH Lead Acid. There is absolutely no question. They just seem to keep on going and going and the best thing is there is absolutely no degredation. You are right you would need to sit down with a stop watch to work out the precise figures but I would estimate they are somewhere between 1.5 x and twice as long lasting depending on where you view the lead acid as having 'run out'. They really are the business.
  6. Blimey, thats a huge amount of time - 3 hours at 100 Watts?
  7. The way I see it, the Deben has been around in many forms for 30 years. The know a thing or two about underground location be it for ferrets or terriers. The unit is designed from scratch to do the job required (i.e. it's not a modfified avalanche detector). They sell thousands of the things every year (far more than everone else) and it's much cheaper. I've not used the long range but the standard range has always been bang on for me.
  8. There's also a 5AH for £85 See www.deben.com/lights_lamping/batteries/lithium_polymer_battery_pack.php
  9. Well worth the money: Much Ligher Flat Power curver Charges Faster No memory Totally Awsome
  10. so if your dog died to ground because you couldnt locate it, and you got the chance of getting it back for 350 quid im sure you would take it, and as that is a impossibility id say that the price of the B&F is more than worth it But that's the point, the Deben one works perfectly well, do you really need more than 40 feet? Why would you want to spend any more money than is necessary. What if they brought one out that worked to 100 metres which cost £600?
  11. There becomes a point where something is too expensive and at £350 the Bellman and Flint (IMO) is total overkill.
  12. If you want lightweight check out these http://www.deben.com/lights_lamping/batter...attery_pack.php Absolutely superb
  13. Check the instructions and look at the sticky on this site - Make sure you have the collar the correct way round - i.e. flat side (not the edge) towards you, the signal is directional.
  14. Respect for the facetiousness mate, but I reckon you've spectacularly missed my point? How many versions of 'Coca Cola' have you seen....................? OK, maybe not the best analogy, but are you seriously suggesting they should tell you how to make one? I would imagine the different versions work on the same principle so you could understand them not wanting to divulge the info.
  15. I know how you feel. I had the same problem with the Coca Cola company - they refuse to send me their recipe. I explained to them I'm a good customer and drink several cans a week! Also my old Nokia mobile, it's only 10 years old and they expect me to replace it!
  16. YOU'LL NEVER GO BACK!! YES YOU MADE THE RIGHT CHOICE!!
  17. My bet would be a faulty battery - can't see what can go wrong with the locator itself. Either way your insurance should cover it.
  18. I find them excellent. Have you called them?
  19. have they got the connection for the lightforce lamps with them Yes, they have. Just got one. Superb.
  20. Get the new Lithium one, it's awsome. You wont beloieve how light it is.
  21. Have you seen these videos on You Tube, pehaps the mods could post a locked sticky with them on
  22. Well I had a stinger and I've got a LedRay. Absolutely superb see http://www.deben.com/lights_lamping/ledray.php
  23. The Lithium-Ion is superb, you will not believe how light it is, but also the power doesn't fade it just dies at the end AND it charges real fast AND you don't have to store it charged.
  24. never had to suck an egg but how much difference does the depth vary by the collar being to the side rather underneath? an inch perhaps? Y.I.S Leeview ps glad I stuck with the MK1's No it's a lot more than that because the signal is directional - i.e. it is not circular. If the collar is on it's edge the reading will be significantly more than the distance. You need to be at 90 degrees to get the perfect reading - i.e. right above it.
  25. MK3M: Waterproof, better leather collar, sealed unit with magnetic switch. Also they've stopped making the old one anyway.
