Deben do a Cluson adaptor. See http://www.deben.com/tracer-battery-connections/cluson-adapter.html. So you need this and a lithium battey. Am sure others will tell you the cheapest place for this.
Beware, they are not 15Ah. They are 15A cranking current. This has nothing to do with the capacity. They are designed to give a high current for a short period of time to start a motor.
Have you read the instructions? You need to have the collar at 90 degrees to get the correct depth reading. So lay it flat on the floor and measure vertically up not along. If you measure along the ground or walk away the distance reading will be less than it should be, which is what you are describing. This is the mistake I made.
Yes, according to my dealer, Deben distributed the light force for many years, but were so p1ssed off with the amount of returns due to wiring problems that they decided to do the job properly themselves.
Get a Lithium Ion if you can afford it, so much lighter. Do a search on here. I have the 14Ah version - superb!

Are you using it correctly? I had the same problem but after speaking to Deben it turns out the signal is directional, so if you put the collar flat on the ground and measure horizontally it will show it as further away as the signal is weaker in that plane. I felt a bit of idiot as this was quite clear in the instructions and when I did it properly it was spot on! You need to measure straight up.
Well basically they invented the ferret finder and terrier finder, so they are responsible for saving the lives of countless ferrets and dogs. They brought lithium power to lamping and my back is better off for that! Their Hawke scopes are fantastic bits of kit. When ever I have dealt with them their customer service has been nothing short of excellent. I hardly think you can blame them for you melting your blitz, it's not even a Deben product!
They do manufacture their own with inbuilt variable resistor/potentiometer fitted to the unit
Lightforce WITH dimmer £122

Lightforce WITHOUT dimmer £

The Lightforce manufactured Variable power option is the one i'm after, don't want an extra plug in after market dimmer unit rattling around and clanking about when I'm after the fox.
Ta
That one with the built in dimmer is actually assembled by Deben.
If you leave your battery flat for a period of time it will knacker it beyond all repair. The memory effect only applied to Nickel Metal Hydride, I think. I'd be surprised if it was the charger - nothing really to go wrong there.
If you speak to Deben you can send in your Clulite and they will change the wiring so it fits one of their Lithiums. If you buy the battery from them they'll do the lot for free! I know coz I did this.
