Just where the bodies turned away from the camera makes it look shorter in the pic. Looking in fine fettle.

Any Advice For Car Sick Dog?
bullmastiff replied to max_wood's topic in Working Dog Health & Training Talk
Car sickness seems to in them from when their born? When Tia had the pups, we had Tess and Titch in the car together, Tess was fine and spent the short trip looking out the window and enjoying the view but Titch was drooling and then being sick within minutes. Both been raised together and had never spent time apart so it's not an enviromental thing, it must be psycological. I guess it's just a case of making really short trips and then extending them? and has been said already, decent Ginger biscuits! -
Looks like you've been lamping with a giraffe! That dogs got some length of neck on it! It's looks as long as it's body

Daytime, let them at it. Nothing better than watching a dog work upwind to its quarry. Daytime everything's tucked in tight to cover so the dog needs to use its nose to find. Night time the quarry will be out in the open so you need to encourage the dog to get its head up and watch the light.

Great game of rugby. Well done Japan.

Can you not use infra red floodlights to light up the action a bit? The camera can see but your not lighting up the whole field. Maybe lamp from a vehicle? It would give the camera a easier job of focusing on the subject. Slightly different but when I was filming my lamping I had to put the lamp on early so the camcorder had time to focus and a wider beam helped to get a faster focus.

Lol,,,you don't really believe in them big cat do ya? Believe it..... He's seen it!! That's why he's bought a massive bull X to back up his ridgeback guarding the sheep!

Trouble is you don't know what scent he's following, could be rabbit, fox, deer or even just a rat or hedgehog! Keep him on the slip and pull him off the scent and keep walking and don't let him off the slip until you've both seen the quarry in the lamp. Otherwise it turns into a night time mooch not a lamping session. I'll be keeping mine on the slip for at least the first season before I start letting him off the slip and training to walk at heel.

Good on him, well done Ben.

He's certainly looking well on it. I've got max on a complete food now. Feeding raw when in a tent was a big hassle lol, so we've moved over to millies wolfheart. It's % meat 20% good fruit and veg. I still add meat and fish etc to it occasionally but more for variety than nutrition. Only trouble I've found is its a constant battle with his weight. Finally start getting some weight on his bones then he grows another inch and loses it all again!!

Here's Max,from the same Litter. Must admit I thought my pup was going to be a big lad but yours looks a real chunky pup. You still feeding raw Walshie? An occasional whine when he's left on his own but apart from that he's a really chilled pup. Think he's been out camping more than he's been at home! lol. Takes everything in his stride. Been a plesure to own so far.

I presume your on Facebook? Contact a guy called Rob Collins. He runs a young sports group, getting youngsters into shooting, fishing, ferreting etc. He's a great guy and an unsung hero who's done more for our sport than most. He regularly runs taster days so people can try their hand at country sports and has a stall at most large sporting shows. He's based in Bristol and sounds like exactly what your after. https://m.(!64.56:886/theolehedgecreeper

Can't remember where I read it but the guy testing shot patterns found that for any shot size bigger than 3 then 1/4 choke was the tightest you should take it. Anything tighter and it would damage the shot when being squeezed through the choke. For BB, as said earlier, I would stick to cylinder. Mind you, imo there's no need for BB for fox. Size 3 is more than a enough for fox and you get much better patterning.

Heading out this weekend to have a chat with a local farmer, see if he'll let me use his sheep. All my permission is cattle But there's more chance of them chasing him than the other way round! Going to have to be careful around the younger bullocks... As for the sheep sh*t, once a sh*t eater always a sh*t eater!! lol

Dave sleight said in purdy's progress that they were just as clever runners but weren't so sensitive and a generally hardier dog.... Wouldn't know myself as never seen one.

Young Ewan Russell caught this cracking Salmon from the River Cart near Johnstone while spinning with a Flying C lure on his first time out! Hit 'Like' and 'Share' to vote for this picture to win! Think you've got to do both to vote

Max has steadied up a bit with Tess, he's learnt it's not smart to try and hang of her lip! lol Clever little lad though. Will sit for his food, fetch's his favourite toy back for a rag when playing with him and is house trained already. Learning his name and a bit of recall is coming on slowly. He had his second jab on last Tuesday, so he can get out this Tuesday coming! Got to try and find some sheep to take him to. It's almost all Dairy round here with a bit of Beef. Want him broken to sheep to save hassle in the future.

Says you need to Like and share to vote. In that case your boys winning. The other guy has 960 likes but only 144 shares, your boy has 505 likes but 273 shares so should be in the lead?

Cheers. Speaking of markings, he's got a face in his markings! once you see it, you can't stop seeing it! lol

Cheers again Jim, you certainly did right by the Mist and the litter, now it's upto us to do our best by them. Haven't managed to get any decent pics of him standing up, as soon as he's up, he's off! lol so they keep coming out blurry. They'll be 11 weeks on Tuesday. Max, 16.5" and about 9kg. Grown about 2" in 2 weeks (think he's going to be a big boy!)

bullmastiff replied to Ossie n Arch's topic in General Talk
Thanks to everyone for making us newbies feel so welcome! We had a cracking weekend and bless you all for making little'un feel so at home. I can't believe more people don't attend this, you don't even have to be any good at drowning maggots!! Really Good venue, great group of guys and a hell of a Craic going on with a fair amount of booze mixed in. What more could you ask for!! Well done oz for sorting a cracking weekend. Definitely be up for next year. And a great big thank you for Jim for bringing my pup with him and nipping out at night to get some rabbits for the pups. He's settled in
