What are you doing to that dog!!!
-
aren't you the lucky one!!!

Well finally managed to find 5 mins to myself last night between my daughter teething (4 teeth at once!! ) the missus being ill, my old spanials ear infection and the bully eating a nappy whole! I haven't been able to get out with the new gun for a mooch at all. So finally I got out to the fields, probably the worst night to go, the wind was cold and swirling around, it was a full moon with not a cloud in the night sky but hey beggers can't be choosers! while miles of walking in the fresh air is enjoyable I not here for the exercise and I haven't seen a sausage (probably saw me from mil

Any idea how I could find out the names of other MP's near my area??
-
Houndblair brought up an interesting site I'm sure most of us didn't know about, once I'd checked to see if my MP had signed the snare ban (he hasn't luckily) I had a quick look around to see what he had been signing, and the shit that he had put his name to!!! (from womens rights in Muscat to wheelchair access in Lebanan) Don't forget your paying these peoples wages and voted them in to look after you! I'm sure wheel chair access and womens rights are all well and good, but as a MP for a farming community you would of thought he'd be signing the farm single payment scheme review. anyway I'm r

-:will make it quieter than a vicars fart!!:- :11: Thats the one I got, It just seems to be a spring in the trigger somewhere? maybe a little bit of use and it'll quieten down, if not I'll get it checked over. Have you tried it at long range yet? I've only shot it at 30yds but it's supposed to be able to get 1/2" groups at 50yds+ I'll try and get down the range at some point and get it on a bench but for now it's zero'd enough for those bunnies!!!. I'm using accupell's for now.

good clean shots as well by the looks of it. Nice one

Well it came yesterday about 1 by the time I'd nipped over to Street to pick up some new scope mounts (my old ones didn't fit!) finally worked out how to charge the damn thing (adaptor has to be really tight or it just leaks out of the bleed valve! ) it was 8 oclock! half hour later I'd managed to get it zero'd to 30 paces pretty well. by then it was too dark to have a quick snoop around (I'd forgotten the lamp! ) First impression's seems good, though pcp's aren't as quiet as magazines make out, you still get a fairly loud snick from internal springs (trigger I presume?) and it's a bit of

That's where I ordered my gun from! saw the barrel band but didn't know what it was for so thought better of paying out for it? what goes wrong with the barrels then?
-
I've just got myself a Logun solo, it's a precharged single shot for £299 gets delivered tomorrow hopefully :thumbs-up: but now I've ordered it I've started hearing scary stories about the reliabilty of logun guns (mainly the s16) I'm not too worried as it's coming with a decent guarentee, just wondering what you guys thought??? anything I should look out for??? (this is my first pcp) P.S thanks for the help everyone (esp. baldie ) with the relum, finally got into it, just waiting for the bits to turn up! soon have it good as new!

Thought she had broken her toes??? Well done anyway!

Is it possible to train lurchers to jump on command? I don't know how readily they can be trained? but surely a stop or hold command until you get to the gate/fence then 'over' would lower the risks? I've done it with both the spanial and bully as niether has any finesse when clearing fences and it made me cringe to see how close they get to barbed wire unless I'm pulling it down a bit!

Relum Tornado, Air Rifle
bullmastiff replied to bullmastiff's topic in Rimfire, Centrefire & Shotguns
I'm off to Mendip shooting range tomorrow so hoping I might get some advice if I take it along!! more searching and all I've managed to find is a parts diagram and price list, but it's still no help if I can't get the end cap off!! I ended up putting it in the vice (rubber jawed) and taking a pair of mole grips to it but it still didn't shift I'm guessing it's a screw thread??? maybe a soak in diesel will will release it? (just the end cap) I might as well change all the valves and seals at the same time, only comes to about £30 for all the internals so fingers crossed I can open it! It was -

I think I need a bit of help! I've got an old relum tornado .22 air rifle I've had for about 12 years, well I hadn't used it for years so thought I'd dig it out and try a few shots with it again (wanted to give it to a friends son). At 30 yds it was putting a group of 5 shots in a spread of about 6 inchs!!! cleaned the barrel out as best I could (blind barrel, under lever, any cleaning tips???) which improved the grouping quite a bit down to about 3 inches. but when popping off at a few beer cans it couldn't even punch through both sides, I used to be able to bole over a bunny at about 35yds w

Breed by gamekeepers in the 1800's, cross between the english bull and english mastiff about 60/40, unfortunatley it seems it was doing what it was breed for all those years ago, that is take down a poacher and hold on until the keeper gets there, no matter what the punishment it takes, as he said they beat it with a sticks then stabbed it 20 times before it finally released If only the woman who was looking after the dog could use a break stick, but then again if it's been freindly up till then who knows??? I think it's always worth training your dog on command only to defend you then it's

It's not a huge area as my friend has sold most of the cows off and is renting half the fields out now, used to have loads of land round here to ferret on but had to get rid of them when I moved. Wouldn't of thought it would be too hard to get permission again round here, as long as I'm not after Deer I'm close to the somerset/dorset border on the A303 town called Wincanton. Your more than welcome to head over with the Ferrets Rob, I used to keep some years ago but then moved to a flat with a shared garden so couldn't get anymore. Soon be moving in with my girlfriend and daughter so should be

Round my way it's almost all dairy farms so the fields are all fairly small with large blackthorn and hawthorn hedgerow's all round and the bunnies don't usually stray to far (10-15yds)from the hedges even at night, When out Lamping your usually lucky to get within 40-50yds before they bolt for the hedge, quite often out of range for the shotgun and air rifle but my mates got a FAC rated air rifle so their just about in range for him, but question is would a dog be able to get them at that sort of distance before they got to the hedge? I can't get a firearms licence as theres already someone

GREAT TRUTHS THAT ADULTS HAVE LEARNED: 1) Raising teenagers is like nailing jelly to a tree. 2) Wrinkles don't hurt. 3) Families are like fudge...mostly sweet, with a few nuts. 4) Today's mighty oak is just yesterday's nut that held its ground. 5) Laughing is good exercise. It's like jogging on the inside. 6) Middle age is when you choose your cereal for the fibre, not the toy.

Used to do that when I kept ferrets, it works quite well until their down a hole and can't hear you whistling, or probably they just ignore it when on a rabbit. mainly used it when letting them out for walks around the fields looking for mouse nests. keeps them (and you) entertained when you can't use em on rabbits. not a lot better than watching a couple of ferrets play in a long grass together. :11:
