  1. Cracking vid mate So how did you video it? was it with a camcorder or a camera? and how did you hold the gun and cam to capture the shot? then we can all have a go at catching something on video!!!
  2. My father in law works at a food processing factory ( pig go's in, honey glazed ham's, gammon's, Ginster's pasties/slices etc come out) and they throw away bins and bins of pigs trotters every day (virtually the only bit's they can't get rid of in a pasty  ) Are they ok to feed to the dogs? ( someone on here said not to feed to much pork to dogs on a another thread) Also the valves/major veins etc. that get cut away from lambs liver?
  3. Didn't think it was too bad, lots of free booze and food, missed the terrier racing at the end, because of the sleet and hail I had to get the littlen in out of the cold. and £12 for 25mins shooting tuiton, and the dogs came back fat as pigs from all the food the vendor's gave them
  4. I'll be there on Sunday with my missus, my mum, my daughter, the pram, 16yr old spanial and bullmastiff If you see me struggling on by, feel sorry for me and buy me a pint!!! They let me run Tia last year on the terrier lure, had to empty the ring so she didn't fetch any of the terriers back She caught the lure and tried fetching it back, dragging the lady and her upside down bike along with her!!! See you all there! Luke

  10. If you go for a BSA Lightning just go for the standard not Deluxe/XL as your just getting into it you won't need/use walnut effect beech stock or two stage adjustable trigger just a waste of money. Try www.uttings.com , you can pick up some good deals, plus helpful staff and quick service!
  11. got thick fog rolling in now so going to miss the rest!
  12. Once the moon is totally eclipsed the Milky way should become clear and easy to see!
  13. If you've got a scope on a rifle etc then use that to look at it, it's better at collecting the light than binos!! Fastdogz see if your camera has got a night function, usual symbol is a moon or star. nice photos bill, shaking less than I was!!! and a bigger zoom by the looks of it!!!
  14. Best photo I could get!! not too great
  15. Get your binos and scopes out boys and girls, it's going to be a goodun!!! The stage is set for the most spectacular total eclipse of the moon in years. For the first time in six years, thousands of people across Britain will be able to watch in wonder as the silvery full moon darkens and turns coppery red or orange. The phenomenon occurs when the earth passes directly between the moon and the sun. Light scattering through the earth's atmosphere is reduced to predominantly-red wavelengths, which reflect off the lunar surface. In ancient times a "blood moon" was viewed w

  18. That's a nice photo Terrier Stuff! Their's a lady walks past our house every morning with two springers with tails, they look like fluffy flag poles!! although I've never seen a working spanial with a full tail I'm sure some have them and unless your going to do lots of thick cover (brambles/blackthorn) with him then I personally wouldn't bother docking him now, as for dew claws they can become a problem with working dogs as the bone can break quite easily and I guess pretty painfull (like breaking your thumb!) but unlike tails there seems to be a fair amount of working spanials that still ha
  19. You'll probably find the hounds and springer will go in to the copse on a scent, then the hounds will come out on their own!!! Springers aren't really pack animals (with exceptions) and will quite happily work on their own, going into any bit of cover after an interesting scent, it just would'nt keep up.
  20. If your going to own just one gun then legally you don't need a cabinet, as long as the shotgun is secue then they can't refuse you, so just get a large locking bolt ( as you use with a gun cabinet) then secure a small length of chain to the wall then thread said chain through the trigger guard and use a padlock. As long as the gun isn't on view and is bolted to a supporting wall then hey presto, you've saved yourself £100! I know some will say it's better to pay for a decent cabinet but when your first starting out and your buying a second hand gun for £100-200 then paying the same for a c
  21. Some nice pics and nice spanials, interesting to see yours with it's tail Paul? has it still got it's dew claws as well?
