  1. No, that's their muesli, meat meal and marrowbone stuff. Crown/active is just a normal looking nugget type food. http://www.vitalinpetfood.co.uk/crown.htm
  2. Does anyone feed this or have any views on it? Bought a small amount from the local store when I ran out of our usual food and the dogs seemed to get on well with it, but haven't seen it in the shop since, neither of my dogs are fussy eaters and will eat anything put in front of them (including a bowl of raw veg! ) but Roo gets really bad dandruff on the cheaper complete foods. I've found it on the net but don't want to go ordering kilos of it if it's rubbish!! Thanks Luke.
  3. If it happens again, have a look about the lanes for their transport then give the number plate to the police, if there's nothing about they must be local and have walked in. which means at some point their going to have to walk back to the local village with the rifle. shouldn't be too hard to spot them and give the cops the address or even roughly where the house is, (they should be able to trace them through their Firearms Licence). Just don't forget, if you do phone the Police, ask for a referance Nº. then it guarantees that it goes into the system and they've got to deal with it.
  4. Saw this story and thought it's probably once in a lifetime shot so thought I'd post it for everyone! http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/uknews/318...photograph.html Cheers Luke.
  5. Interesting clip on attack styles and bite strength. I'm sure you've all seen the clip showing German Shepard, Pit bull and Rottie, (making them jump into the bite) giving reading's of 235lbs for the Pit, 238 for the Shepard and 328 for the Rottie. Watch out for the Reading's of this clip (allowing the dogs to get a good bite on a stationary object) the Malinios and Dutch shepard are both close to the German Shepard but the Mastiff whopped all other canine records at 556lbs! (African Wild Dog 317lbs, timber Wolf at 406lbs) Cheers Luke.
  6. Starve it for 24 hours and give the stomach time to settle down, then build the food up again back to the normal amount. Might be worth just nipping into the vets for a check up though? I presume the dog is vaccinated? Cheers Luke.
  7. Sounds like the pumps working ok so the air must be escaping somewhere? as above ensure the bleed valve on the pump is closed, the pipe is tightened properly and the fitting into the gun is inserted correctly. Does your gun have a safety feature on it to stop you charging it's whilst cocked or uncocked If it still doesn't work then may be worth visiting the gun shop? Cheers Luke
  8. Your right, Just stood in the middle of the ring with a half guard up and just having lumps knocked out of you! Then the frustration when the ref stops it! "I was just tiring him out ref honest!!" maybe thats what they call punch drunk? brain gave up 2 minutes ago but the body just won't give in! I was almost certain Danny was about to land on his arse in the fourth! looked like he was in a differant fight! wildly flailing his arms about and Sparticus showing his experience and staying in their and just knocking lumps out of his ribs then standing up and swinging those enormous crosses! f
  9. Danny Macintoch vs paul? Sparticus - Light Heavyweight championship Sparticus is down!!!
  10. kiddies coming back with some good shots now!!!
  11. Sparticus is going to knock this kiddy to the floor about to find out how strong his jaw is!!! any one else watching?
  12. When I'm lamping it could never be about the Numbers! Roo's got a fair bite on him so I can't eat them once he's finished with them and I've realized now, he's just never going to be a decent Rabbiting dog, but horses for courses he's a cracker at other work! Not just any Terrier either!... a Show dog! Cheers Luke.
  13. Above post is spam so dont click on the link
  14. Well I wasn't going to post this as it's really is poor camera/lamp work AGAIN! so I apologies now!!! but thought bugger it everyones enjoying the entertainment on Marks threads! so it'll probably be missed! I went out last Sunday for a quick flick around a friends farm, his sister and her husband were down visiting with their Parsons Russell. Having never been lamping before they wanted to come with us so yet again I handed over the Lamp and took the camera instead! With his sister Lamping and her husband with the Parsons on a bailer twine slip we headed out into the fields. First field a
  15. Rigor Mortis will set in as soon as the rabbit has cooled down sufficently but can be either worked out of the muscles with movement (bending the legs back and forth) or should relax naturally by Monday. Even if you keep them in the fridge/freezer the guts will still start smelling and turning the skin and ajoining flesh a greeny/blue colour. I guess it's the enzymes in the gut breaking everything down? Best thing you could do is either take them with you (and teach them to shoot/hunt) or turn it into a camping weekend and bring the rabbits to them fresh. (bit late now I know!) Take Care
  16. Sorry for my late reply guys and thank you for yours, by the looks of things a rifle range/club seems to be the best port of call to start on the road to a FAC. I've found a few in my area, Bridport probably being the closest. There doesn't seem to be much info of gun clubs/ranges so it makes it quite difficult to find the nearest to your local area. Here's one of the few links I could find, http://www.basc.org.uk/media/club_directory.pdf Some areas are covered thoroughly, others, like mine seems to just have the name of the club and a contact no. which means you've got to phone them all to
  17. Beautiful little pups mate! but look at the bloody size of them feet! she's got some growing to make them fit!!!
  18. Next year should be even cheaper, with such a bad harvest a lot of the cereals brought in from the fields is only good for animal feed so should be a good amount on offer. might even be cheap enough to keep all the feeders out through spring! Cheers Luke.
  19. Maybe a silly question but how do you get into stalking??? I know that to apply for a FAC you must have suitable land to shoot on, but to get land to shoot on you've got to prove to the landowner that you can control his deer population! Any landowner worth his salt is going to ask genuine questions that you can only answer truthfully, and the fact is I've never shot a centre fire rifle, let alone shot a deer! I know it's not exactly a poor mans sport but as I don't have friends that stalk to take me out, I've got to do a training course (£390) just so I can take the DSC level 1 (£285) wh
  20. Sorry Deker but I think your wrong, springs do come under the FAC laws if they take the gun over 12ftlb (maximum limit for any rifled gun without a licence). it even states this on the bottom of the website you posted. Any modification that takes an air rifle above 12ftlb is illegal unless you have a F.A.C with the gun listed on it (that includes excessively heavy pellets, springs or drilling out valves on PCP's) Sorry guys but it just isn't worth the risk these days JMHO Cheers Luke
  21. I've got a great idea for you Scothunter! Take the lads out ferreting then drop them home and show them how to clean and cook the rabbits they've caught! Teach them a few tasty meals and the mother will be in your debt + you get to have dinner with her!!! You could also supply the wine as a 'thank you' for dinner. Added bonus if you work the boys hard then they'll be asleep by 9pm leaving you with the mum and a open bottle to finish!!! JOBS A GOODUN!!! Good luck mate! Luke
  22. Cracking write up mate! sounds like a good Craic!
  23. I just worked that out and it's 40.04MPH but that will be the average speed around the track (including starting and corners) You can't get the fastest speed reached from distance/time, the only way you could get it was pinging with a radar gun. I'd have my money on the Greyhound having the fastest flat out speed and fastest average speed over the smaller distances, you can't claim that Salukis are faster but are 'too smart' to chase a Lure, a certain amount of breeding to 'dumb' them down wouldn't be too hard I'm sure? certainly with the amounts of money involved in track dogs? Just my
