  1. Don't look for a punch line, there isn't one! Read it anyway What would you do?....you make the choice. . . My question is: Would you have made the same choice? At a fundraising dinner for a school that serves children with learning disabilities, the father of one of the students delivered a speech that would never be forgotten by all who attended. After extolling the school and its dedicated staff, he offered a question: 'When not interfered with by outside influences, everything nature does, is done with perfection. Yet my son, Shay, cannot learn things as other children do. He cannot
  2. Does anyone on here beat at Lackham near Chippenham?
  3. Sorry for bringing this back to the top again but I've always carried a small roll of electrical tape on me, it's small and light, doesn't stick very well to skin or fur but sticks really well to it's self and once stuck is pretty water, dirt, and snag proof. It's easy to remove after as well. The small, sealed, eye wash bottles (sterile liquid) are usefull as well for washing out eyes/cuts etc Cheers Luke.
  4. As above really, does anyone else use it to treat their dogs? Cheers Luke
  5. I'm sure they'll be fine! she'll probably be happy for the company!!! good luck with the new fella!!!
  6. Theirs lot's of online pharmacies that sell cheap wormers such as Drontal plus etc and flea treatment such as Frontline, although Advocate is better, as it treats bacterial/fungal skin complaints as well (you need a prescription for it though). Try www.hyperdrug.com Cheers Luke
  7. Some great advice and info supplied, Thank you. Good on ya Smashy for your hands up honesty so it seems I the same as others had not heard of this, I will defineatly be taking heed of this and learning from other peoples mistakes. I hope your dog recovers soon and is back to their normal self. Thank You again, Luke.
  8. If it's a pup then just close supervision with the pup on a lead required. As bullterrier said you know your dog better than anyone so if their both social dogs then just get them in the garden together and let them get on with it, bit of a sniff, bit of marking then job done! If your not sure about either of the dogs then - Best advice I was given (and I'm sure he just got it from that Dog Whisperer guy!!!) was to just go for a walk with your dog and get a friend/partner to walk the new dog on the opposite side of you, then take both leads and go for a nice long walk together with both kept
  9. Congratulatons! best feeling in the world isn't it! How did your wife find the water birth? my missus was thinking of one for our next? Cheers Luke.
  10. 'The ability to quote is a serviceable substitute for wit.' - Somerset Maugham.
  11. I don't know if anyone else has noticed but there seems to be almost two completely differant types of English Springer Spanial now days. Firstly you have the FT type that are short in the leg, some with legs like Bulldogs! (feet facing outwards), barrel bodied and in my opinion, are more like Cockers in stature than ESS's, they seem to be great in cover, very fast workers and as some suggest are completely mad! Then you get the Taller type with a deeper, slimmer chest and longer leg that seem more reserved and not quite as frenzied in their search for game. Both have their place as working
  12. Some stunning Photos and a great write up, thank you for sharing it with us. Regards Luke.
  13. Now that's a stunning BT Chanuk! is she yours?
  14. If he took dogs then he'd be beating (although I could think of worse places to be!) for the other lucky bast*rds that are stood at the busy end! Waterproof clothing and hat, it looks wet over there for the next week or two! cash for tips, choccie bar, bottle of water and a small day sack to carry everything to your peg/stand. Have fun! Luke.
  15. Nice one, just need someway to fill it now! Scuba tank/buddy bottles are the easiest way but it depends if you have a Dive shop nearby to fill it for you? (thats the reason I opted for a Stirrup Pump instead) Try www.uttings.com for the Mag, they have them for £59 but I'm sure with a bit of searching you could find it cheaper than that. Cheers and good luck with your Purchase. Luke.
  16. ... Edited, thought it best to PM rather than broadcast it on here, sorry!
  17. Hiya Shooter08, I've got one in .22 maybe two years ago and to be honest, I love it! On the up side, It's one of the cheapest and lightest PCP's on the market and is extremely accurate (as all PCP's are to be honest) and as yet I haven't even had a minor problem with it. With the Weirach silencer fitted it's very quite indeed, (although I guess the more expensive guns might be quieter?) and I believe it won "Gun of the Year" in 2004 and 2005 (I thinks the S410 that has won it in subsequent years) On the down side though, once I spent a few month's with it, I slightly regretted not paying
  18. Looks like it was quite an obvious question then! Thank you!
  19. Thank you Jon, I'll try that. Regards Luke.
  20. Kiwi and Gary, I don't know if either of you can answer a question like this but I'll post it anyway just in case there's an obvious answer (although unlikely!) If you had to pick one European breeder of GWP's who would it be? (for working not trialling/showing) Thank you for your thoughts Luke.
  21. I got given these for work, and Their the best I've ever tried! 100% waterproof over trousers but for some reason they don't make you sweaty at all! plus their a bit like Latex so are quiet to wear and can stretch a bit, for £30 you can't go wrong! http://uk.rs-online.com/web/search/searchB...t&R=0762269 Shop around for them though RS is never cheap! (just who work gets it through) Cheers Luke.
  22. Get your mum to cook it just like chicken in a curry sauce. Rabbit seems to go really well in curry!
  23. Well done mate, better than sat in watching X factor or something!! They for you or the dog to eat? ATB Luke.
  24. Cheers Lurcher 83, looks like your keeping her fit , Thank you Victor. Headshot08 - judging by your posts to other topics I'm guessing your only early - mid teens so I'll give you a polite answer, I've never boasted Roo's the fastest or best dog about, he's my first Lurcher (and a two year old rescue) so he could be the fastest or more likely the slowest Lurcher out there and I'd never know it as I have nothing to compare him to. He's given me enormous amounts of fun, with some sport and Dinner thrown in. Tia's slow enough not to get in his way, so she can chase him about as much as sh
  25. Well done mate, A few stews their I think!
