  1. Thought that was brilliant! Antis 0-1Prohunt. that Presenter plays devils advocate rather well doesn't she! and BIG UP the rescue girl! getting stuck in there, the blokes were more squeamish!!! The bloke wasn't spitting on the Ferret, or as the the Presenter said 'making a Ferret distress call' FFS!!! my mates uncle used to do it, he's trying to blow hard up the ferrets nostrils to get it to let go. It never worked for his uncle either!
  2. As far as I'm aware if they contact a mod then they'll be directed to Ianb for info. As for Ian, if they contact him with a relevant warrant then it's not a case of him giving info but them taking it. They can take any info put on the forum. Name, age, photo's, IP address, Everything. The Company that supply the mainframe space for this site will be able to access all this info as well, including IP addresses (your computers unique tracing Nº) plus of course they can supply physical archive records (backup's of the site in case of computer failure) so in theory they could look at the PM's yo
  3. Their some stunning photo's, thank you for sharing them. I'd love to take photo's like them, if only I had £600 for a camera!!!
  4. Although this topic is heading a little bit off course, IMO as a deliberate cross their not going to bring anything new to the table, as a herding breed they've got some brains and stamina but the collies got more, as for 'gameness' or 'drive' bull's supply that in boundless amounts. The only thing they'd be supplying is Ginger eyebrows! As a pet I think that pup would probably make a wonderful companion/guard for you and the family, if it comes out with you and takes to hunting/ mooching about then brilliant! Just think of it as a slim Rottie not a Lurcher! Cheers Luke.
  5. As it's the first I've ever seen/used I can't compare it to any other for quality etc. but so far it's proving to be really useful. The rabbits round my way are very lamp shy so as soon as the lamps turned on, their high tailing it to the hedge and seconds later the entire fields empty. It was getting to the point that I had to slip the dog down the hedge before even switching the lamp on!!! Now I can walk into the field, scan around with the NV, spotting and stalking rabbits into slippable distances before reaching for the lamp. So for Lamp shy quarry I'd definatly recommend it. Downside,
  6. I'm not hard to please! a day out with just the dogs for company and perhaps a little sport thrown in and I'm happy!
  7. After a cracking afternoon out with the Air rifle and Tia (see Air rifle section) I got back to the farm for a cuppa to warm up a bit, then grabbed the lamp, my Xmas pressie (Lidl NV Monocular) and Roo then headed out into the fields for a look about. Usually I'm restricted by time or other people with me but this time it was just me and the dog (first time in ages!) so I could mooch about as much and for as long as I liked. Pottering through the first field I switched on the NV and got used to the focusing. Having never seen/used one before I was amazed! I was expecting a really grainy image
  8. Well after a number of problems with the retro fit mag for the Logun Solo, I finally got fed up and removed it, so a trip to a friends farm was due to resight the scope. instantly solved the two inch grouping problem, so all I can think is it was putting the pellets in at an angle and scoring them as they were pushed into the breech? So back to a 4/5 going in a 1p piece at 30 yards whilst leaning on a bale. Sights realigned and as it was about 4.30pm I took a walk down to the wood for a spot of Roost shooting. I forgotten how fast and furious it can be some times! within 5 minutes of climbing
  9. Well done and a good catch! cracking looking bitch!.
  10. Bloody right Brimmer! just need to get the missus to believe it! which just got a whole lot harder though, the Ferret bit Lisa on the finger apparently, put a canine through her finger nail and two into the finger tip. Must of caught a blood vessel as it was squirting a couple of inch's! I think some gentle handling is required (of them both!!!) Well I did my best in my half hour lunch break! Must admit, it's not my best work but should please the missus. Recovered the box from the skip but couldn't find the lid, so tipped it on it's side, whacked a door on it and some mesh from the metal
  11. She's a pretty little thing and obviously been well looked after. Although her nose seems very pale? maybe a bit of meat and she'll be fine! Well the missus rang the vets, want her to 'pop over' with it to see if it's chipped!!!, mile walk with baby and ferret in a toy box should be fun for her eh, Apparently she phoned arsepca who said "Noboby's reported one missing and were full, so can't help you." then hung up! - I told her not to bother with them. Just knocked up a Temp Hutch from an old Packing case at work so can get her out of that toy box. If she's still with me by the wee
  12. I just let the dogs out in the garden for a pee before heading to bed and both dogs seemed really keen on the fence line, got the dogs in and got the torch out and spotted something through the fence. Quick squeak and out came this little Jill, obviously tame as she came straight to hand. Gave her some warm diluted milk and some ham and settled her down in a toy box (only box we could find with a lid!) poked some holes in the top and bobs your uncle an improvised hutch!!! Now comes the tricky bit, what do we do next? the missus is going to the vets tomorrow to tell them, but what else can we
  13. Give Strongstuff a shout, he'll sort your AB out with one of his extremely hardwearing 'Extended collars!' If not, get the Shooting Permission and give one of the Centrefire lads on here a shout, I'm sure they'll swap half a pig for the price of a bullet!!! Good luck either way!! If either idea pans out then I wouldn't mind an invite! Cheers Luke.
  14. Looks like the BBC have pulled out of showing Crufts next year, they wanted certain breeds banned from the show (I'm guessing King Charles Spaniel, Bulldog etc). According to the article the KC are going to revise Breed Standards and judging system for the welfare and health of the dog. Thats not going to be popular decision with show breeders! So look out anyone that breeds KC registered working dogs. the show types will be after all your dogs!!! http://www.thekennelclub.org.uk/item/2187/23/5/3 Cheers Luke.
  15. Tia when she was a pup. Tia, after she decided a bag of flour might make an intresting toy!
  16. I keep a pipe and packet of Condor pre rolled baccy in my barbour, I usually smoke rollies but when it rains the pipe comes out. Smoke it upside down and the rain won't put it out.
  17. I believe STABS on here used his staffies for all sorts of hunting/shooting before he moved to Aus, he has posted loads of photos previously, search out his old threads. I started to use my bullmastiff for shooting/retrieving when my spanial died. Shes not spanial/lab quality but still helps out, so anythings possible!
  18. Cheers Topper! I should of given you a ring after the event got some advice on how to treat em! never mind, we live and learn!!! Mick - Amoxicillin It's not the best Antibiotic out there, but it certainly better than nothing and just helps the dog fight off any infection they might of picked up doing there job! Cheers Luke.
  19. Your right Stubby Rabbit burgers are lovely! even the missus eats them!!! Pup I'll definatly be trying that Pate recipe!! thank you!
  20. Pup, I hadn't taken the piss out of anyones posts??? As an experienced first aider I'm sure you know more than me but 'Try telling one of the guys at your work when he's ripped, mashed or generally f'd, that I'll apply pressure, elevate and the ambulance is on the way!!!' Although you can try to talk them through what your doing if their not in a helpful frame of mind (dog or Human) it still won't stop them screaming and thrashing, dogs are a damn sight easier to help than a 12-16 stone guy panicking and going into shock. I never stated that if used properly, holistic healing methods do or
  21. That's what I thought! I'd never heard of it until the dogs got cut up and I thought I'd run out of antibiotics!. A member on here pointed me in the right direction. Luckily found some Antirobe tablets at the back of the cupboard, but had ordered some Fish Flex already, No prescription required but identical to the capsules you get from the vet???
  22. I doubt it would swell quick enough to close a wound in time? besides, the vet will be cussing you once it has swollen up and expanded inside the wound!!! As a first Aider your taught with puncture wounds to elevate and apply pressure (applies to animals as well). Don't put anything in the hole or try and pull anything out. Anything big enough to fit a Tampax in is pretty serious and worth an imediate trip to the vets! Press a dressing, jumper, coat or even a clump of clean grass to the wound (anything to stem the flow of blood) and get to the vets ASAP! Lavender oil??? there's loads of p
