  1. Does your cock extention work though ? LOL It's working on you right? you getting excited? or are you just trying to get an invite to the show? If you've got a camcorder, me and bobo will think about it
  2. You'll have to ask nicer than that sweetheart to see my willy . Here's my enormous cock extension though. All 25 inch's of it! Think it would fit? Love Luke
  3. Undisputed you b*****d :realmad: . How dare you put such ridiculus, unthoughful posts on this forum... I tried it and the poor cows got third degree burns all over it's udders from being dragged backwards around the field behind Tia. The farmers fuming!!! He had to spend most of the £250 he made on sending in the tape, buying Savlon burneze. As I type this, the poor cow is sat in a bucket of iced water weeping that she may never be able to feed her calves again. Just think of the calves next time you think of posting advice ok?
  4. I think the 'stay' command must of come over from ring/obedience work into gundog training. In obedience their expected to 'stand' and 'stay', 'sit' and 'stay' and 'lie down' and 'stay' for 3-5 mins without movement or their disqualified. This is no use in a gundog, if waiting for the off on a beating line then a simple 'sit' will suffice (and wait for another command). If waiting at a peg, highseat or still waiting for the start of a drive! then a 'down' command is sufficent (and make yourself compfy, we might be here a while!). Almost always the gundog is sitting when told to 'stay' but sur
  5. As you've got a Spanial already, there's not much use getting another specifically for deer trailing, either use your existing dog and incorperate blood trailing into it's training, or just as a thought..... speak to Remmy and buy the missus a nice little lap dog!!! (Teckel) She'll love it and you'll get yourself a perfect stalking companion. As stated by others, most working breeds can trail a blood scent, so it's more a case of narrowing your search down using Size, biddability, whether you want it to voice or not etc. etc. Found this little video, there's a few vids to choose from b
  6. Personally I'm also a .22 man. When your talking margins for error, I believe the .177 is probably better than the .22 Over 30yds the .177 will only rise 1/4 inch above you line of sight, whereas the .22 can be almost a 2 inch differance between 15 and 30 yds. so you've got to be a lot better at judging distances. With a .22 though as stated before you've got a larger kill zone to aim at, swings and roundabouts really. just what your used to.
  7. I had Rook pie when beating, they didn't tell me till after, it was delicous. 1st of May was always the tradional time to get them. Try it. What have you got to lose but a bit of pastry and some veg. If you don't like it the dogs/ferrets will. Cheers Luke.
  8. That's what I thought! most I've ever shot with an airrifle lol!
  9. well done mate, sounds like he's starting to trust you a bit. today one field, next week the farm!!! I'm hoping thats what will happen on my new permission, he's only letting me shoot on two fields of beans at the moment, so i'm hoping if I do a good job on them he'll let me use the rest of the farm as well!
  10. Thats what I'm hoping to do this weekend, make up some sarnies and just tuck myself under the tree and spend the day their. Hopefully I'll get some crows/ jackdaws etc as well for next doors falcon. I'll go prepared this time with a few decoys, seatbox and nets etc. so I can let them land, then shoot them. I had to keep climbing out of the hedge to clean up the loose feathers from where they had fallen out of the tree. Piles of feathers everywhere doesn't make a confident pigeon! Cheers Luke
  11. Another one to join us from Somerset, what part of Somerset? We'll out number all these northener's soon! Welcome to the site. Luke.
  12. Sorry  I stopped at 15 in the end (3 pies worth) I didn't take the camera with me so sorry no pics, will deffinatly take it next time. I should be heading back their during the week so will take some then. I've just breasted them this time so can fit loads more in the freezer! not that I'm getting hopeful but they were still coming in when I left at 7.30pm and I had already missed the main feeding time getting their so late. Cheers Luke.
  13. I've just got a new it of permission on a local farm at last! my closest before was about 10-15 miles away. I popped in to have a quick chat on the way to one of my permissions and asked about the possibility of a bit of shooting. He explained that due to an accident in the family the mother in law can't abide the sound of guns but I explained how quiet my air rifle was and that I won't be shooting near the house and he gave me the ok. First job he say's "is to clear them bloody pigeons off my beans!" quick walk around the fields and found a nice spot in the hedge under an oak. As I hadn't bro
  14. An important lesson for a newbie! It's that tight gut feeling you get as your out walking the dogs and something breaks cover then you see your new rescue lurcher heading flat out for a hedge, then crashing through and off over the hill. Usually in front of other walkers or the farm house in broad daylight! Thats when you realise quite how high their prey drive is and no amount of obedience training will call them off their chosen quarry!!! You can shout till your red in the face, wait quietly for your dog to return hoping no one saw it, or try to chase em up the hill to watch the rest of th
  15. Thanks gonetoearth Will there be camping on site? (if so, who would I contact?) or will I have to book something else? It's a 3.30 - 4.00 hour drive so will make a long weekend of it! Cheers again Luke.
  16. Probably a silly question but do you have to of qualified at another show to enter your dog? Cheers Luke.
  17. Well had a great day as usual, Congrats to you staffie for organising it! as said by MLB, it was good to put faces to names. Tia was in the Family show ring most the afternoon with my little sister-in-law and I entered Roo in a couple too. Congratulations to WH and Sir Storm for winning the Racing and to Topper for getting through to the show finals with his 'Bullcross' Bitch LOL she's a cracker mate hope to see her work in the future. Cheers Luke.
  18. I'll definantly be there with the family again. Recieved the schedule, Ta staffiedownwest!
  19. I do both, when I arrive at the farm I usually take a walk about with the Air rifle and Tia, through the fields to the wood for a bit of roost shooting I can usually pick up a rabbit or two and a few pigeons. Back to the car and swap Tia for Roo and gun for Lamp then off out again for just ground game. I only get out on Sundays so try to make a day of it. The air rifles good for just a general mooch about getting dinner from field or tree (as long as it's stationary and within 30-40yds). Where as the Lurchers limited to the field/hedge but it's more exciting to watch the dog run and can tak
  20. Trouble is I'm useless with faces so forget what people look like from their photos! Thats why I always tell people to look for Tia, she's hard to miss, even in a crowd! MLB thats a good idea, maybe it's worth asking Ianb to sort out a THL badge? just something small you could pin to our collars or something!
  21. It was good to finally meet you Topper, sorry I couldn't hang around long, you've got a PM! It was a good show overall and managed to pick up a few bargains, amongst others I got a camo rucksack for a fiver, and a large Tanning kit for £12! shame I couldn't show Roo though, they had a seperate class for colliex, Salukix, Beddyx deerhoundx but not the Bullx??? Had a few lads with smashed up Bulls offering to buy Roo off me, from the north of England I think but couldn't guess their accent, just kept asking what work he could do and am I sure I don't want to sell him LOL I wouldn't par
  22. I'd imagine that the collie would bring more brains to the mix than a Bull x but the bull cross would be more aggressive on quarry than a collie x? JMO As the Bull x is apparently fashionable at the moment there's probably more sh*t being breed at the moment though?
  23. Roo was a rescue, they took him to the West country gamefair to see if anyone was interested in him. He already had working marks on his muzzle and a hanging bottom lip, but they didn't seem too upset when I mentioned about him working again. He wasn't house or obedience trained at all but when out he would follow the lamp and release when I hissed him on and seemed to know what he was doing. I think, with an experienced Lurcherman before the ban he could of been a really good dog (now the poor bugger's ended up with me!!!) I couldn't of asked for a better teacher than him and would definate
