I don't believe you can upload large pics/video direct to THL. You've got to use another company (Youtube/Photobucket etc.) and then just post the link/shortcut on to this forum. You should be able to just upload your videos straight to Youtube? It'll upload the best copy (HD) for viewing. You sure your not just viewing your videos back in low definition? When you watch a Youtube video, it automatically lowers the quality depending how good your internet connection is but you can manually change it back to HD on any video you watch. There's a symbol that looks like a cog at the botto

I'm a Team leader at a firm that builds Sonar for the Navy. We're building the Flank and Bow sonar for the Astute class Submarine for the next year or two.

Definitely sounds like she's maturing faster than this numpty! He's still running up and down the hedge chewing Tess's neck and getting under her feet whilst she's trying to work! And randomly just forgets to jump the long nets and just walks straight into them! We're ferreting again on Sunday so will try to remember and get some pics/video this time. Hoping Joe might come up with his two so will be less netting, more free running dogs.

Max is still far too immature for running on anything. He's seen a fair bit as we ferret every other weekend and we're always out mooching but he hasn't switch he'd on yet, he's still chasing shadows at the moment!!. Plenty of time yet though, Tees is doing okay so shall let him come on in his own time.

If You Wanted Just An Occasional Hare
bullmastiff replied to bullmastiff's topic in Lurchers & Running Dogs
No fences, it's all hedges with barbed wire buried in it round here, more than a hundred yards and it's over a small brow so the dogs then running off lamp. Only ever seen a few runs on lamp that ended in a catch round here (including saluki crosses)Tried a couple of times during the day and my dog was basically outmatched. So have very little experience of hares! -
If You Wanted Just An Occasional Hare
bullmastiff replied to bullmastiff's topic in Lurchers & Running Dogs
As for breeding, say you had already picked up a pup and potentially it's breeding meant it might be able to put a turn or two into a longish run. The land would be large dairy fields. So not Fen type land. -
Hypothetically If you weren't after hare full time and just wanted the occasional run. No 3 out of 3 etc.just maybe one or two runs over a few hours would you concentrate on speed or stamina? If you had a pup you were bringing on would it be steady miles by the bike or sprint training by the ball etc.?

Smashing mate, well done to you both!!

Labs are bred to retrieve and are easily trained for long distance work but can still work most types of cover, it's only the real thick stuff you'll notice them working round not through. Spaniels are bred to hunt and will work any cover but can struggle on the longer retrieves (like a leg down bird that's flown past a hedge) Any of the hpr/ pointer breeds are bred for far ranging work. Great noses and will cover a huge amount of ground quickly buy will take a lot of training to slow down enough for a beating line. It's easily possible but the dogs breeding will make him want to head into t

Help Struggling To Get The Roe On My Permission
bullmastiff replied to lampingking's topic in Deer Stalking & Management
Cow salt lick and a highseat maybe? -
I used to run on just red light but tess seems to struggle with it so she has to run on white. Red light is definitely easier to spot quarry on and seems to spook less but your right it is a faff getting filters on and off quietly That's why I used to love the old clulite with the filter that would just lift up out the way!

Borrowed the deben tracer one off a friend (it's the same thing as far as I can tell?) Just took it with me whilst out training with the pup. It's definitely whiter than the striker light making it easier to see at distance and I'd have to say it's probably a tighter spot too (which isn't adjustable) maybe too tight? If your lamping with longer runs in mind then I'd probably go with this as a lamp for a few hours lamping, if the spot was adjustable then I think it would be a cracking lamp. As has been said already, LED's don't produce as much of the entire light spectrum as a normal bulb

Put a price down, otherwise she'll go on the thl merry go round getting handed on at the end of each season or they'll start popping kids out of her willy nilly!

When I first started lamping, those bloody birds used to scare the sh*t out of me! Used to get a thumping noise close by like a rabbit running away, Dog would jump in that direction, lamp on and nothing there? like some sort of ghost Rabbit! Sure I've got a vid somewhere of me lamping one that was hunkered down accidentally.

If the seller just puts it down as something like £100 dog accessories then hopefully you shouldn't have too pay much duty unless they check the package? Just looked on Handtec and it's £420 for the Astro and 1 T5 collar but they haven't got any in at the moment, says due in soon.... Might be worth an email to them and find out if they could get the mini T5's and how quick they could get them in? it should be cheaper that way (especially if you get hit for import tax)
-
Think it was about £480 with next day delivery If you can get round the import tax then it's cheaper to buy from America but if they catch it coming through then you get hit with a big duty bill Worth every penny though for peace of mind. I've since swapped the bright green collar out for a black one. Slightly more subtle when out and about daytime!

had him out with a mate and his little terriers and he does work well with them. but im out most of the time on my own. i should have took him a few times a week on his own when he was younger, would of probably made him abit more independant. will be getting the new pup out alot on his own this time.Never too late to try?Get him out on his own a fee times so he can't lean on his mum for sport and he'll probably start getting his head down. It's too easy for him at the moment just to follow others.

Max today whilst out ferreting. He's 25" and 25kg now. Think they've all still got at least another inch to come yet looking at their wrists! lol
-
Brilliant, thanks for sharing! Good find by the terrier and you couldn't ask for a better way to start a ferret off.

Just checked the price from Deben, This site is £40 cheaper. Just click on the top tab labelled Store.

3.7 on mine. Luckily they had collars so I bought both together and they were paired already.

It doesn't seem to be on Putlocker yet(good streaming site but full of adverts), either download and check for it on tvmc (streams just about every film, documentary and series ever made. No adverts but hard to navigate around) or download it from Piratebay. Otherwise You'll just have to wait for a decent copy to come available.
