  1. Think they should last longer than that. They start degrading after 2000 cycles not stop working. Think basically after that time they don't hold as much charge as before. So a 12v 20ah SLA battery after 2000 cycles would still work but would be more like a 7-10ah battery but the LiFePo4 would still hold 20ah of charge.
  2. Entire life. Lithium Ion batteries start degrading after about 1000 cycles (charges I guess?) LiFePo4 last for 2000 cycles before they degrade. SLA batteries last about 300-500 cycles before they start degrading.
  3. Have a look for the new lithium batteries. LiFePo4. Their only slightly heavier than the old lithium ion ones but last twice as long and are a fair bit cheaper (their not as dangerous as the old ones so cost less to manufacture)
  4. Just paid the extra 10 I owed from the auction.
  5. Cars packed and ready too go first thing tomorrow, grabbing the cider on the way to pick up Joe and Gerry then on our way! Picked up a couple of lures for some Bass fishing on Saturday. No traces so I hope I don't need them!
  6. Just watch out for the rear diff going on the freelander. Easy to tell as the previous owner will of taken out the rear prop shaft (to save on fuel) lol
  7. Going to try and Jimmy up a bag/box to put the cider box in, so I can tape the electric cool box top to it.. Got to have cold cider whilst you set up the tents!!.
  8. You driving in the Jimmy??? Don't forget fuel this time!! You need to fill up every 200 hundred miles.... Will be great to see you again
  9. Is there drinking water at the lakes or will we need to bring some with us?
  10. Don't know if anyone is interested but they've started producing a new Lithium battery, rather than Lithium Ion, their using Lithium Iron Phosphate (LiFePo4) It's cycle life is twice as long as a Lithium Ion battery (so 4 times as long as a SLA battery). Only weighs slightly more than the older Lithium batteries but won't spontaneously burst into flames at the slightest miss use! It's identical to Lithium Ion batteries in every other way. As it's not so hazardous, it's not so expensive to manufacture/dispose of so prices are cheaper. I've just bought one from here - https://www.batterym
  11. I like Trish I couldn't inflict this fanny of a dog on her. Ha! Was thinking the exact same thing!! Going to leave Tees at home, if a strange dog mouths her like max does, I doubt she'll take it quite as well as normal!
  12. Will I be able to get the car in and out of the field or should I bring a tent?
  13. Cant wait for the fishing comp, see these arses meeting up for a blast about. The 'little' brother...
  14. A friend caught 130 from midnight till dawn two days ago at Chesil beach.
  15. It won't work, the old phone bells are analog and new phones are digital. You could probably knock one up by splitting the base for a cordless phone, plugging it into a socket and extending the wires on the speaker?
  16. I've got a camping gas hob I'm bringing with plenty of gas so should be ok for the morning coffe Then we'll only need to light the bbq for food. Obviously after about 10am everyone will be on cider so it shouldn't be needed!
  17. This is actually a really good point. So far he's starting to form a very good bond and who knows it might be the first time he's ever had any kindness. He's more mischievous if that makes sense than wanton destructive and he has so many other positive points when you consider his background that I don't want to destroy his confidence and in time he might stop it. I'm just over the bridge from you in Chepstow is the working ground good down your part of Somerset. My family are originally from Long Sutton and I went to Cannington to do my horticulture. My in laws are in Burnham so despite bein
  18. Either get him out beside the bike and knacker him out before you leave or get a large dog crate and lock him up whilst out. If he chews something expensive then your going to end up shouting at him and spoiling the bond your developING with him
  19. I'm bringing a big box of that cider I had last, gas stove, kettle, tea and coffee. I don't know what food you want me to bring?
  20. Only a few miles from me. A303 got basically closed because of the traffic backing up. Causes hell every bloody year. It stopped raining yesterday but going to start again on Saturday. Lots of videos on the Internet of the floods but the site covers miles of ground so it's only small areas that are flooded.
  21. Think its a great Idea and something I'd like to do for a week or two to get away from everything but not as a lifestyle You could learn to really use your practical living skills properly Trouble is the telly doesn't show the hardship of cold, wet, rainy days when you can't get yourself warm or dry and you've got all night to suffer. Unless your as good as ray mears then your shelter WILL leak!! Done that on survival weekends when I was young. Sat in a tiny homemade shelter on damp conifer branches with everything too wet to start a fire. Plus Being sat there every night for 6-8 hours
  22. If you click on the Hargreaves link then there's a photo of one on their site. It's called a quick release collar.
  23. Max, another one of haymins pups. Brother to Johnny boys and new kids. If looks could kill he'd be dangerous! But as it is, he's still to busy running in circles and chewing tess's neck! Daft as a brush and still won't retrieve but showing promisie in his hunting style, has a great turn of speed and seems to have pretty decent wind so far. Just started to take him out on the bike for a couple of miles just to get him used to running beside it. I hope he can do everything i ask of him. Oh and he prances like a show pony!!!
  24. Bought a new 18" Drennan Speedex landing net and another keepnet. for £35 so not too bad. Collected what was left of the pellets and ground bait from the bottom of the rucksack and threw it all together, should be enough left to feed some fish up hopefully!
  25. Went to dust my fishing gear off and heard some movement in the shed... bloody mice had got into my fishing gear and chewed holes in the nets then got into the rucksack and opened all the pellet and ground bait bags. Tess got one as I was shifting stuff out and another got out the back through a loose slat. Popped a trap down in there and had a mouse every night so far for 6 nights. All on the same little bit of Mars bar too!
