Couldn't be arsed to read all the whining crap above, so don't know if they actually answered your question or not? so heres me two pence.... Just my opinion but if your getting fork strike then either the bands aren't the same length, or more likely your twisting your grip/wrist on the catty as you pull the elastic back to your lug hole! I don't know you, so maybe you've got big hands and are struggling to hold such a small catty, or your wrist isn't strong enough to hold it straight on full extension of the elastic??? Set up a box with a small circle drawn on it in the garden and sl

Some good photo's there What cross and size is the longer furred Merle? (in the bottom pics) It's a cracking looking dog. Do you work it? Do you have to clip long haired dogs or does it just stay that length? ATB -
I think modern diff locks only lock the central diff (front to back, not side to side) so even with difflock engaged you can still get two wheel drive (one front wheel, one back wheel) Try applying the brake and accelerater at the same time (left foot braking), this can sometimes 'trick' the diff into applying drive to both front or back wheels. Did you get to the hounds in the end!

hunting with running dogs in Holland
bullmastiff replied to lapin2008's topic in Lurchers & Running Dogs
I believe running dogs must be muzzled and kept on leads at all times Can only be let off leads within enclosed areas. Basically Holland is run by their version of LACS. (the Green Party.) They've even got their own Private enclosed parks (same as LACS) were the trapped starving, diseased animals can die in peace as nature intended........ If you want hunting head East... -
Wouldn't mind taking you up on the offer, I'm in Wincanton (on the A303). My missus works nights every other weekend and I've got a 6yr old daughter, so am in the same boat as you concerning weekends being precious!

About an hour east, up the A303, small town called Wincanton

As always Moll, cracking pics and a good write up Jealous of you guys and gals that get days out like that, would love to head out with a bobbery pack for a mooch with mine. Maybe one day. Think it was Tomo that asked about the Rabbit hounds? (and for all those that don't like to see a Rabbit out numbered then look away!) The Ryedale Rabbiting hounds. A cracking day out and one I'd reccomend to anyone who gets the chance to go along! Quick vid off the phone.
-
How about free admission for donators? That would get a few more people paying up on here?
-
Cracking vid as always matey, Keep posting them!

Have a flick through this thread and show her some of the photos.... She'll soon change her mind when she see what they do to 'even cuter, cuddly little lambs' http://www.thehuntin...970-fox-damage/ My missus isn't too bad at all, she's tried lamping and it wasn't for her. (result!) but understands the excitement of it. Only thing she winges at is when the dogs come home beat up and it spoiling their pretty little faces... oh and the vets bills!! she gets pretty wound up every time the dog has another vets bill because of working.
-
I guess thats Bull crosses for you! maybe try some heavier boots! lol
-
I'm currently lamping with two Bullcrosses, both have mainly been lamped on their own so both of them think each slip is for them! Ones about 25tts and 70-75 pounds and Tess is 24tts and 60-65lbs Thats why I tried tying the lead around my waist, it's a damn sight easier to hold yourself (and the lamp) steady as they both try launching on the hiss
-
Would it be worth trying to get the advice of a a greyhound vet or animal physiotherapist? They'll be far more up to date on treatment of toe injuries and may even be able to fix/ease it with physical therapy?
-
Started looping a normal lead round my waist now I've got the two dogs to run. Clip one on that whilst the other is on the slip. Still got your hands free to lamp etc then.
-
And don't forget to rub their backends with kitchen roll. They won't pee and poo properly otherwise. The mum would usually lick them to make em pee etc and clean it up at the same time but as she's not, you'll have too. Circlular motions with a a folded piece of kitchen roll around the bum and bits. Shouldn't take long and they'll empty out. Good luck with the pups.

There's two different types, the Purple spray an anti-bacterial. And the Blue/Green varieties are an antibiotic and anti-bacterial spray

Man that sounds good.... when we going!!! Doubt I'd need a horse to keep up with Tess though! good pair of running shoes and I'd be there with her!! lol I've been checking out some prices online and it's cheaper to go to America for a horseback holiday than it is to hunt in Europe from horseback! £1000 will get you 5 nights in the French dordogne region, with one hunt on horse back, so Not exactly the Dog hunting holiday I'd thought about.

If you find any then give me a shout! (think it's blue not green though)

everybody knows northern bred lurchers are better bred   Then sent down to the south by the lazy northeners to be trained and run! We only send em back when their too old to run and so you can breed em for us!!

bullmastiff replied to WHITEYrs4's topic in Lurchers & Running Dogs
Fair play, 3/4grey 1/8bull 1/8 collie, would be a real fine dog to hunt with. Just a case of finding the right Greyhound now and an owner that willing to put his bitch in whelp. Good luck on the search, keep us posted. ATB Luke
