  1. Certainly looks a good size. What weight was it? I haven't been piking for years, definatly going to have to get back out and get on them again. They were one of the best fighting fish in the river.
  2. Emily uses a whip to fish with as a rod/reel were a bit hard for her to learn on. She hooked and landed a 7lb mirror with it. So a competent fisherman should do just fine! Just watch out for weed/lillies. You can't give them as much stick as a rod! I guess it's one rod in the water at a time?
  3. Who will you be sharing a tent with?? It's not one of 'those' camping sites is it!
  4. Such romantics eh! I that case I'll be coming! Probably stay in a b&b Friday night and treat her to a night out in glorious Leicester! Then hold over on the Saturday.
  5. Maybe a silly question but is anyone bringing their missus with them? Only reason I ask is its my wedding anniversary on the 16th so if I head up for this I'd best bring the better half along too!
  6. Google 'lansky 5 stone knife sharpening system'. It Takes the guess work out of setting/keeping an edge. Japanese water stones are fine if you have enough practice but I bet the first few times you use it, you make the knife blunter not sharper as you knock the edge off the blade and the more you try and sharpen it the worse it gets as you start putting multiple edges on the blade. If youve already bought the wter stone then practice on an old knife before you ruin your new one.
  7. Why walk em? their not needed for another 3-4 months?
  8. Would be perfect for me, I can't be arsed to dig mind you!!

    Wifi

It doesn't matter who your service provider is, you can plug in any make of router and it'll work. Just follow the setup guide that comes with it there's two types of booster. One that will turn your electricity ring main into a home network so you can then plug adaptors into a 3 pin socket and it'll pick up your broadband or you can get boosters that you plug in a 3 pin socket and will receive your wifi signal and amplify it so it goes further. The wifi booster does need to be within range of your router though and the further you boost the signal the slower it gets.

    Wifi

Firstly if your router is over 5 years old then buy a new one. They've moved on a lot recently and throw further and transmit a hell of a lot faster. As tier el said you can buy boosters that plug into standard 3 pin sockets. Put one of those in a socket closest to your garden and you should get a signal fine.

I've never been religious in the slightest. Was raised church of England but stopped as soon as I had the choice. I believe we're born, live your life then die. Rot in the ground, gone. No spirit/soul ghost etc. my wife though was/is a christian although she rarely visited a chapel. After the death of our son she 'dropped' religion but I wouldn't class her as an atheist though as she still visits the grave every year to wish him happy birthday and as a carer of the elderly, when they die she'll open a window for the soul to escape.... So she still believes in spirits/souls which is obvious
  12. Just had a look at Bala on google, looks a nice area.
  13. Nope never been to the lake district, the missus did mention about going up there one day. Any parts in particular that you would recommend? We've done most of Cornwall so fancy somewhere different.
  14. It's getting around to that time of year again so looking for some advice on where to go camping for a week. Last year we did Sennen in Cornwall, year before that, we did Hawes in Yorkshire for 3 days and 3 at Glen Coe. It's just the missus, the dog and I so we're looking for somewhere with a load of walks and a decent pub nearby would be handy too! Anyone got any ideas?
  15. Holland's governed by the green party I believe. Running dogs must always be kept on leads unless in a secure enclosed area. I believe their supposed to be muzzled in public too. I can't see the police kicking off much, it'll be the shooters that try to get you in trouble! Lol
  16. Panacur is easy to give to pups and whelping bitch but advocate for anything else. It great stuff, does heart worm and one of the types of mange too.
  17. Catahula cross greyhound maybe? I don't know about coyote but fox are bloody difficult to catch in cover with a running dog. You'd be better off with a hound type dog I'd guess? I'm sure several dogs together could stop a fox/coyote through thick woodland but one on its own is going to be bloody tough. Before the ban over here hounds were used to drive the fox from cover with running dogs used to catch as it ran across open ground. Rule of thumb, running dogs for open ground and hounds or terriers for cover.
  18. Probably glad he didn't pay for dead stock disposal, lol That's probably why it ended up rotting in a ditch! died in the field and put in the Dutch by the farmer hoping walshie wouldn't notice!
  19. Thanks guys Harvest time is the only time it goes off road so I don't want to turn it into a full on off roader. Just a bit more height for following the combine.
  20. Timberland pro. Think there about £90 but are the comfiest boots you'll get. go for the tan suede ones though as their lighter and don't need breaking in like leather ones.
  21. 38 squirrels shot...... 36 eaten by the dog. Dirty bloody animal!

  23. Why did Paul walker cross the road? Because he wasn't wearing a seat belt....
  24. Double wheels would tip over on rough ground So you'd have to go with the one wheel idea and just use the fixing points on you hips as the lever that stops the load tipping over
