    Its the same when people have been lamping, they just put the dogs back in the run. I always scrub there feet with a brush and salt water and give them a good look over and rub them down before feeding them. I know then that they will fit and ready for morning....

    Sacs won't help in any way with problems with the grant of a certificate, only on renewals. It says so in the small print

    I've an astra estate diesel with the 1.7 cdti (isuzu engine). It does 50 mpg. It's just clock 168,000 today. Should pick a good one up for about a grand.

    I've read this with interest, I've had dogs 27 years and if I'm honest i wouldn't have a deaf working dog. You have to harden your heart and have a good think about it, a working dog has a tough enough life with all it's senses. What use would it be as a ferreting dog it wouldn't hear the rabbits moving underground and it's already been mentioned that it wouldn't hear traffic etc. Just a liability and accident waiting to happen in my opinion...

    I remember taking a mates full litter of Dalmation pups to a vets at cambridge to have there hearing tested, they put a small probes above each ear and one on the forehead all linked to a laptop to test them. Thankfully all of them were ok. I think it cost my mate £25 per pup

    I wouldn't bother with bob martin wormers mate. I use the panacur 10% liquid wormer for pups. Available online

    I also like to give them a saucer of goats milk together when the pups as young as possible. After a couple of days the pup soon accepts the ferret.

    Each to there own, But what do you lads do about the basic training before taking the pup out in the field with other dogs? Then there's stock training etc. No wonder there's so many 9-12 month old lurchers for sale on gumtree thats all i say...

    A 4 month old bitch . I'm not going to waste my time explaining how you'll fu*k the dog up as it's obvious you havn't got a clue. Let it be a pup ffs theres plenty of time to get it catching from 9-10 months old.

    Get yourself done to the EDRD show on the sunday, much better show and you don't have to get a mortgage to pay the entry fee . The only game fair I've been to this year is the catton park gamekeeper fair, realistic entry fee and a good show alround. Won't be going to the midland this year after 12 years of going every year, how the organisers can justify putting the entry fees up like they do year on year in the current climate. As mentioned in an earlier post some are just like car boots!!

    pup on plane

    I exported a pup to Finland and the lady met me at manchester Airport. The pup was in a vari kennel and it traveled on her knee in the cabin. That was with finnair. The pup had to microchipped and was seen by a vet the day before travel and a pet passport issued. It didn't need a rabies jab as it was under 12 weeks of age.

Peddlers should be banned in my opinion
