That first one s wicked. Tara.

I love that second picture of the ferret, just so cute. Tara

Someone has said on another forum that you should put a little sugar in the water bottles and it stops it freezing and by doing that the ferrets get some glucose from it as well which helps them in cold weather, but not too much sugar though. Tara.

At the moment I only have 2 ferrets but their bowl is filled each day unless they haven t eaten it all and then it s refilled when empty but if they have rabbit, I just put the one in and that lasts them 3 days. Tara.

I must admit my ferrets are not handled for lengths of time that often but they are greeted 3 or 4 times a day. Normally when I pass the hutch, they are either given a stroke through the mesh or I open the bed section and given a fuss. Even my little girl who is 5 tends to go in the bed section when she s off to school or coming home, she goes straight in sticks her hand in and ruffles them and they don t bother. They just give her a look as if to say oh it s just you again and they give her a lick. The only time they tend to grab is when they are out playing on the lawn, but then they don t

On about nets I ve got some of the normal horrible nylon ones and also bought some at the game fair this year that was not hemp but a new material that works just as good as but doesn t need hanging to dry and it s nice to work with too - doesn t tangle like the horrible ones. Any one have any idea what material it could be ? I need some more nets badly and I m happy to try and make my own but don t know what the material it could possibly be. Remember I m quite new to all this so thought I d ask some of you experienced ones that use the different types of netting. Tara.

I m a female ferreter too. Tara. -
Wow that s alot of bunnies. Rather you than me skin and gutting them though. Tara.

I have one of each and I prefer the flat one which I take is the mk 3 original one that came with the finder. I find that the mk3m is heavier and more bulky and wish I could get another of the original ones. Tara.

I know how you feel I m stuck at home too, you know kids, housework and cooking etc. Never mind they ll be back in school before long. Tara.

You know when you first get it it tells you to put collar on floor and try the locator and it shows the depth it s at from the locator and it showed on the scale 2ft when it wasn t that high above thew collar. It does say it only guide though. Tara.

I find that my locater isn t as accurate, it reads about a foot over. Never had to dig any out yet though I just like to keep an eye on them to see where they are after they haven t surfaced for a while. I wouldn t be without mine it s agod send. Tara.

Both my ferrets are outside in the hutch and they have pieces of an imitation fur coat in their bed and they are doing fine. Infact one of them tends to sleep in the hammock in the day even when it s really cold so they must be warm enough. Tara.

I m fairly new to ferreting and the way I look at it is - if we lose any they ll be there for next time. I have one ferret that tends to mess around but I keep trying him but I don t have trouble with him going down holes, he just keeps popping his head in and out to play. Tara.
