  1. Back to the beginning of the theme, you can check out a lot of questions on the BASC website. https://www.basc.org.uk/media/crossbows.pdf I forgot to mention it.
  2. This may not be up to date, but may help? http://www.chuckhawks.com/ammo_roundup_22LR.htm
  3. Good job! That's a nice group. You should get a clean kill every time.
  4. Good advice there! Just be polite, sensible, and let your enthusiasm for your sport, your knowledge etc shine through. That's why you want the cert., to help you to enjoy your sport. Sensible, polite people usually get a trouble free passage. Don't forget that your FEO is a good bloke to ask for further advice! Hope it all goes well.
  5. His name seems to crop up weekly when groups of people of my (retired) age get together. A lot of us would have enjoyed playing with steam engines etc. Top bloke!
  6. That's not far away and I know several members from there. I'll PM you.
  7. Well explained, Stubby! Good bit of info that!
  8. If it's just for the joy of something different to shoot, there's nothing to stop you joining a shooting club which does archery as well, you would have lots of LEGAL options there. At mine you can even hire stuff to try, (it's cheaper to hire something a few times at £1 a go, than buy something, find you don't like it, and then have it stuck in the back of the cupboard for years). We have crossbows and examples of compound bows etc. The advantage of trying it out at a club is that you have an experienced person to give you some instruction so you don't hurt yourself or anybody else! 11. One of my friends goes there regularly for a day out. He says it is the most beautiful place he knows. Lucky you! Welcome, and enjoy!
  12. Welcome, and good luck. Well done with your target shooting!
  13. Good luck! I hope it gives you many hours of fun!
  14. Correct mate. Bloody keyboards..... Good man! I have to limit myself to 1/2 pint of shandy if I'm making a post or I'd get my mords wuddled!
  15. Another great shot. Too impressive for words!
  16. Absolutely splendid! Well done. They look really professional. I think I'm going to throw my camera in the bin now!
  17. Very impressive! Lovely photos, I wish I had taken them!
  18. Hi Tara, welcome. Hope you get back into shooting.
  19. Hi Chrissie, Welcome. Hope you enjoy the site.
  20. Good point that, droid. I tried to find it on Google. Could there be a typo there? Is it Anthisan? I found that was offered as an alternative spelling and it looked like a powerful load of jollop! Got to get me some of that as well as the Mosiguard! I had some bad bites while in Spain, knuckles the size of golf balls. The pharmacist gave me Neosayomol which is an antihistamine cream. That did the same job. It is available without prescription and can be ordered over the internet. I just checked that one too. Looks like I'm going to need another bag to add to the rest of the kit.
  21. Excellent book, lots of other plants there to try as well as fungi! I lent mine to someone who obviously liked it so much he kept it! Pity I can't remember who I lent it to!

    Drinking

Its not me i am still recovering from my guiness fest in 2007 on st paddys day , i was working out this units thing , apparently a man can have 4 units a day , so i worked out what i have just chucked in the recycling bin here & one days consumption equates to a weeks worth in units I think we will be having words later A blat every night is a bit different from the occasional high spot. I have known cases of "stress relief" drinking, where pressure at work is intolerable. People can hit the bottle when they get home to escape from it. Escape can become a habit. Unachie
