    gun B.A.N

i think airguns should carry some sort of licence but this will be a very hard road to go down as the amount of airgun's out there must be vast ,plus again it's punishing law abiding citizens especialy the younger shooter's ,again like most when a got my licences i will not put a foot wrong , i know one certain firearms holder who now no longer come's shooting with us because of his act's in my opinion should not have one ,and should be reported for what he shoot's but i am no grass its people like this that spoils thing's for genuine shooter's, and from what i have seen in the past from some
  5. nutshot the comb raiser was purchaced from my local gun club however rifle-cases.co.uk sell some good ones / rabbiter well spoted part of the lung was showing and my rifle is a 223 using 55gr v-max , as for EWOK'S question i knew where the set was so it was just a mater of getting somewhere in cover and waiting
  6. yes you are right but she was quartering away, and she droped on the spot i knew the bullet was going to hit the vitals so it was going to be a humane shot i had to take the shot otherwise she was into cover and i may not have got another go at her and i was there to do a job
  7. these were shot first thing this morning arived at about four thirty got settled in after five mins the first victim was shot ,half an hour later job done ,one happy farmer even happier chickens, now i know some will condem this act but when a farmer requests it to be done then it has to be done otherwise someone else will be called to do it ,i dont like to kill cubs this young but i do fox control and shooting these this morning has secured me and my father some good ground for fox, hare.crow & pigeon
  8. lightforce 170 riflemounted as they are light and produce a good beam ,when there is two of us it's the same lamp only hand held , as for calls i have found the wigeon call works quite well but my mate recently bought a digital electronic call and that has done realy well especialy over the north east, and south west scotland ,around where i live alot of the fox's are educated to the call so they take some getting
  9. yes you are right varminter it does not matter how far away your target is but it's nice to know you can make contact at long ranges , i have missed fox's etc at less than 100 yds walk in the park shot's but still missed but then shoot them past 200 ? havnt realy tried my rifle past 300 may just have to try now, as for what i shoot it's mostly fox's with the remi, deer in scotland not so many rabbit's now my areas have almost been cleaned out with what i dont know the ocasional crow just for fun have a winchester 243 for deer this side of the border , varmartin if you are intrested in th
  10. nice guns there lads if you dont mind me asking how much did the gun's set you back
  11. welcome to the forum varmartin sound's like you and varminter have some excelent shooting not many longrange shooter's on here only wish i had the chance to do some proper longrange shooting look forward to seeing your set up keep on posting
  12. this is my fox / deer(scotland) rifle i use 55gr v-max / lapua brass/ 25.5gr benchmark with quite good results
  13. that's some impresive shooting , i dont have the ground where i can get those type of range shot's not that i am capable of doing it though , sounds like you realy know youre stuf , i dont know if you have heard of the dvd beyond beleif long range hunting , excelent dvd you would like it , if you havnt seen it and would like a copy pm me and i can sort something out hopeing to get a 300 yd fox this season then work out , i know it's not a patch on the shot's you can take , a friend of mine has a custom 6 ppc and before he moved to canada he said i could get a good setup if i bought a second
  14. impresive setups there varminter i dont have anything as fancy as that wouldnt mind though , look's like you can take long range shot's if you dont mind me asking what's the longest shot you have taken a varmint out my personel best was 275 give or take yds on a fox using a remi 700 vssf ,

  17. real nice looking head's there EWOK , are those the trophy heads you were talking about ,like the touch with the gun on the wall
  18. that's the problem on site's like this you just dont know who is who
  19. well i think we get enough stick off those that dont understand our way's so we shouldnt condem other's and the sport they do
  20. know how you feel jordan but you have got to take the good with the bad
  21. Your post was deleted by one of the moderating team as it was about something not only illegal but pretty daft too. Stabs, thanks for your reply, as I have never hunted over there, I do not Know your laws and while looking at an air rifle site, I saw were they sold .50 cal. air rifles and that they shoot 200 grain bullets, was only wondering if anyone was using them for deer because a 200 grain bullet would not be used for small game or would it, feel me in on this because I have not hunted with an air rifle for 40 years and then it was for small birds only, that was the firearm/air rifle
  22. i also have a t-8 on my remi 223 and the sound supression is great , & have no problem as you do ' this maybe because i have a 6* 56 mill scope with 30 mill tube so i have high mount's and a comb raiser and eye allingment is comfortable plus there is bullet loop's on it for quick reload's
  23. probably the green eyed monster showing jordan
  24. i think the the best thing to do if you can is spend some time observing them ,where the flight line is ,where & what they are feeding on i know you will be itching to get among them but it will pay off
