  1. Well i have had a rotolight and they are far to slow for foxing in my opinion, plus the beam wasnt great,i personaly would opt for the lightforce gear although expensive they are faster to keep on target
  2. Nice photo's Remmy and a nice result, walk in the park shot for you there mate
  3. This was the result i had on the lamp last night, the night was very quiet and there was a half moon so it was also quite light, however we have had them on full moon after walking for a while and calling nothing had been seen, then the familiar sight of a set of eyes were spoted, this fox was laying in grass that was quite long so all i could see was its head,it wasnt botherd by the lamp ,a prone shot wasnt possible so it was a case of resting on the gate post and waiting for it to present a good clean chest shot however it just wouldnt move even the call wouldnt lift it from its resting place,a
  4. fantastic looking ground you lads have there ,i guess we all have bad nights as well as good
  5. Factory ammo is expensive that is why i reload ,the initial outlay is a bit costly, but you can buy cheap starter kits,i can get over 200 rounds for arround £70,so worth it in the long run, plus i now use a 223 ackley so home loading is needed
  6. Thats one fine looking fox v-max,should have hung it up for the photo,it sure looks like big un
  7. Decided to visit one of the bits of ground i have that has a few rabbits for a change, and a bit of a lamp later, arived at about two thirty it was a case of find a good shooting point this gave me a good view of three areas ranging from 100 to 280 yds then wait after what seemed an eternity they started to show the first shot at and missed at 108 forgot that the first two or three shots from a clean barrel in my rifle shoot high, its mate sat a couple of yards further on and contact was made, after a couple of hours decided to move to see if i could get some further range shots, a 300 yard shot
  8. Congrats on your first fox and a well placed shot hopefully one of many for you,you always remember the first, mine was over six year ago and remember it as if it were yesterday
  9. Thats one nice set up ,i think a set of ear defenders would be a good idea though
  10. Sprags the rifle is a 223 ackley improved, and it is a 17 ah battery i recently purchaced this battery from component-shop.co.uk as my other one was about knackerd, only cost £26 with delivery and lasted all night no probs a very fair price in my book Foxdropper not a bad idea may just try that next time i go it alone
  11. Foxdropper four on a night alone is a good night hard work but worth it
  12. it is the rifle is 14 lb in weight that added with the battery it is quite hard work to lamp ,the hard work starts when i have shot a fox,the most i have had in a night was three and it was bloody hard work
  13. Decided to have a look on my local ground last night couldnt be botherd traveling,i know there are a few foxs in this area its just catching them at the right time,i usualy get about a dozen a season, spoted the first a fairway off heading towards some woodland,i have seen this fox a couple of times now and usualy leave when it gets into cover but this time i waited and out he came about 200 yds away it wasnt intrested in the call at all but was slowly heading in my direction now i have learned from experience not to rush a shot especialy if the fox is totaly relaxed ,eventualy it came to with
  14. That is one fine looking fox Deker in excelent condition,i think i would have skined that one out and preserved it
  15. Nice way to christen your rifle
  16. Thats some shooting Andy must be a good population where you are, best to leave them to breed and keep the sport going
  17. I agree each to his own ,but if foxdropper hadnt done what the farmer requested then i am sure he would find someone that would and he would loose his shooting,we have had to do it ourselves didnt like it but i am not going to loose hard earned permision to someone else so good job done Foxdropper
  18. Good bag for a few hours work mate
  19. Nice one sounder, i have done a little stalking(not as much as i would like to ) but is that not an unusual head for a fallow i.e the antlers, you are a lucky chap having access to that type of shooting hope your luck keeps up
  20. A good nights lamping mate ,and a good mixed bag
  21. Know where you are comeing from weejohn we also have to travel the closest area being about an hour & a half away ,got local permision but it's a waste of time to many people around here persuing them

  23. Went over the border last night onto some of the ground we have there full of optimism after the last foray in that area, arived on the first farm at about eleven thirty, after about 45 mins of searching and calling result was nothing, went onto the next farm again no result spoted two but one wasnt a safe shot and the other was away at the sight of the lamp,we then decided to go to an area where it is walking only as we hadnt been for a while by now it was almost one in the morning without a shot fired, again started to call and almost right away a fox showed on the railway line heading for us go
  24. Video came out good was the camera set up on the rifle somehow ,nice shooting by the way
