  1. Typical British welcoming hospitality. Lovely. Anyway... Cheers to those few who did contribute constructively.
  2. I thought I was, judging by most of the replies.
  3. Although you're also trying to be a smart arse, where have I even implied that I have sight hounds? Plus, what have I been "saying"? I asked a question, that's it! Many of you really do need to get out more, regardless if it's out of season. Exercise the dogs! Road work, lures, country fair racing etc.
  4. Read the thread, dumb ass. I don't run lurchers.
  5. No it wasn't, Smart Arse.
  6. I'm talking about the technique in particular. Although it seems using two dogs in this instance hasn't spoilt anything.
  7. Nope. Not if the point is to kill! Hahaha.
  8. Smart arse. I haven't been on here since 2011. And my question from what I can see hasn't been asked nor answered. What's wrong with some of you people? I think some of you lot have got too much time on your hands.
  9. This is what I'm talking about. In my opinion, this is what I would want in a working lurcher. It's a shame the chase and grab wasn't filmed.
  10. I too would like to know people's opinions on the question asked. Which Terrier Is Best For Bushing/flushing Rabbits For My Whippets? Not Interested In Using It For Digs. But all types, not necessarily just terriers. Thanks
  11. When bushing, have you found that the beagle blood stops this cross going to ground? What breed of terrier is in the mix? Cheers
  12. Cheers. I appreciate it. Tact is not always my strong point. When I want to know something, I just ask.
  13. As you will have noticed, I joined THL around a decade ago. So according to your theory, I've been waiting for ten years to hatch my stitch up plan lool. So because it's my first post in a while, it can't be about deer? Hmmm... should it be about charlie, the reds, things with teeth? These names are used all over the threads, not exactly being subtle. It wouldn't be difficult if that was my aim. Yeah I'd like to see photos. So what? Everyone likes to see pics regarding their interests. I thoroughly enjoy looking at people's lurchers, not as much as I enjoy admiring my own dogs but a
  14. I must be! Asking a question with a slight ethical twist... oh no!! God forbid! How could anyone be so dreadful? Very suspicious. Lool
  15. Thanks for your reply, Aussie Whip.
  16. Cheers for your reply Planete. I've heard of a couple whippet bred lurchers that get the job done single handed, in quick time too! Interesting. Thanks
  17. As you're in the UK And there's a ban, if you don't feel comfortable contributing, don't. Simple. Guys in other countries could possibly be in different situations? Plus UK knowledge prior to the ban?
  18. Thanks for your reply, Allan P. I get what you're saying in terms of tackling deer. Hopefully the ability ie speed, strength, stamina and drive will be passed on to the offspring. What I'm asking is technique. Can technique be passed on rather than learnt? Can it be nature rather than nurture? If so, I'd like to hear from guys that have witnessed such. Cheers
  19. I absolutely agree! Not sporting?? On the contrary, this is ideal. One shouldn't enjoy the prey suffering. A quick kill is what every hunter must ensure. If a quick kill is not what you are aiming for, you are a sick c*#t and need seeing to! Ideally via the same method, which you exposed the prey to. I'm assuming you're referring to feral pigs and not boar. That must be some beast of a dog to crush a pigs skull. Unless you're talking piglets?
  20. My thoughts? I'm not a lurcher man, hence why I want to hear from people with experience. I would assume the deer hound would be efficient in this job, there's no point having an animal suffer longer than necessary. Again my assumption would be that grabbing the neck for either a break or suffocation would be the most effective technique. I don't know if breeding for this has been done? Or how easy, if at all, the trait is passed on. Maybe adding some bull n terrier blood in the mix could help. Etc, etc, etc. Like I mentioned, I'm not that interested in theories, I can come up w
  21. I get your point but this is an international forum, guys outside of the UK can comment. Plus I'm sure there are lads on here with experience before the British ban. Cheers
  22. Yes but I am just curious if a particular breed or cross is more inclined to either go for the neck staight up, or quite soon after pulling the deer down. Hopefully I'll get some sensible replies.
  23. Quite impressive for a 6 month pup? Especially with that build lol.
  24. Afternoon All, Regarding deer, of any species. What breed or mix do you think has the best intinct for a quick neck kill? I'm not talking about one dog learning from another, this is the best way to teach but not what I'm asking. Nor am I interested in disembowlment techniques or dogs that hold, waiting for their master to dispatch. I mean a dog, which instinctively grabbed the neck by itself and didn't let go until the deer was dead. Ideally I'd like to hear of dogs that haven't been used on anything other than rabbit, hare and deer. I would like to hear from lads who have witn
